Summer Beach Babe

Hello Everyone!!!  It's CopicOz Challenge time again and this month the challenge is to create a Summer Themed Card!!  Summer is well and truly here for those of us living in Australia and I'm sure many are at the beach over the Christmas/New Year break!!!  For our friends in the Northern Hemisphere, perhaps this is just the challenge you need to escape the snow and cold that you have!!

The base is created of yellow bazzill, white and three pieces of October Afternoon Sidewalks DP.  The middle piece has been layered on another piece of white punched top and bottom with the MS Deco Fan border punch.  I've decided that I needed bright, happy colours for my sweet Beach Marci stamp, she's been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers (G20, G21, G24, Y21, Y35, Y38, RV55, RV63, RV66, E50, E51, E53, YR31, E000, E01, E11, R20).  I've cut her out with scissors and framed her with white (cut with Large Oval Nestabilities, lightly sponged with Summer Sky ink) and yellow (cut with Big Scallop Ovals Large Nestabilities).  To finish I've added a couple of blush pearls to the top corner and a sentiment from Flourishes' Sunflowers set to the bottom.

Stamps - Beach Marci (La La Land Crafts), Sunflowers (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Yellow Bazzill, White, October Afternoon Sidewalks DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Large Oval and Big Scallop Ovals Large Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Border Punch, Scissors, Blush Pearls.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Christmas Tags

Hello Everyone!!  Christmas is fast approaching and here are a couple of gift tags that were in the October Issue of Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft!  These were quick and fun to make using JustRite's Deck The Halls set with Spellbinders' Labels 18, Large Oval and Heirloom Ornament 2011 die sets!

I don't know about you - but life is definitely hectic here and I'm still wrapping last minute gifts and buying food and trying to stay calm!!  :)  This will be my last post before Christmas, so I want to wish you all a truly Merry Christmas, full of love, joy and peace!  (And hopefully a couple of special goodies under the tree!!)  :)

Blessings
Kathy  :)

It's a Purple Christmas!

Hello Everyone!!  You will probably remember in October when I announced that I'd made the cover of Australian Simply Cards, well now I can finally show you what went into that feature!!  :)  I've made three card and gift sets, a beginner, intermediate and an advanced, all using Mitten Weather paper and JustRite's Merry and Bright Stamp Set.

For the beginner, I did a small gift card and matching candle, stamps are Merry and Bright by JustRite!

The intermediate is a standard sized card and matching Gable Box.

And lastly, the advanced set is a 5 1/2" square card and matching luminara!!

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Sunflower Girl

Hello Everyone!!  Today as Splitcoast, the Free 4 All challenge is Winter Flowers!  Not necessarily to have flowers that bloom in Winter, more a bit of colour to cheer those who live in the Northern Hemisphere where the snowy Winter has set in.  Here in Australia however, we are in glorious Summer and thankfully it's not too hot and humid yet!  :)  I look around and see flowers galore, beautiful Frangipani, Poinciana, Agapanthus and still some Jacaranda so it wasn't hard to be inspired for this challenge!  :)

I've used Sunflower Girl and the Prima Donna Petals Die-namics for my flower elements on my card, both by My Favorite Things.  I've stamped my girl in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured her with Copic Markers (R81, R83, R85, E000, E01, E11, E33, E35, YG13, YG17, E50, E51, E53, YR31, R20, Y21, Y35, YR24).  She's been cut out and popped up on foam tape and framed with white (using Large Oval Nestabilities), pink (Dainty Doily Die-namics), and green bazzill (Labels 8 Nestabilities).  For the flower and paper panels, I've used October Afternoon Sidewalks DP and I've finished with a little bling in the corners!  :)

Stamps - Sunflower Girl (MFT)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pale and Mid Pink Bazzill, Green Bazzill, White, October Afternoon Sidewalk DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Prima Donna Petals, Fancy Flourish and Dainty Doily Oval Die-namics (MFT), Large Oval and Labels 8 Nestabilities, Embossed Curve Punch, Kaisercraft Silver Rhinestones, Pink Satin Ribbon, Scissors, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Another Teacher Gift

Hello Everyone!!  Here's another journal, this one went to my son's Grade 4 teacher who happens to love purple.  :)

I found some purple Heidi Grace paper deep in my stash and stamped and coloured the Zinnias from Flourishes in V20, V25, G24, G28.  I've framed the Zinnias with MFT's Oval Dainty Doily dienamics and then double framed with Grand Nestabilities Labels 4!  Across the bottom, I've stamped the teacher's name using JR's Times New Roman Font and cut it out with the JR Nested Sentiment Die.

I'm hoping to have some cards for you soon - most of the ones I've made lately are going to be published in magazines next year which is pretty exciting!!

Also - tomorrow I've got a tutorial on the CopicOz Blog, so I hope you stop by and have a look!!  :)

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!  :)

Teacher Gift

Hi Everyone!!  Here in Australia it is the end of the school year!  My boys have now finished Grade 4 and Grade 1 and what a hectic few weeks it has been!  I apologise for the lack of blogging, I've just been too exhausted to keep up with it all of late.  I do however have a couple of journals to show!  Each year I give covered notebooks to each of the teachers and aids (which this year came to a total of 6!) and although I'm not going to show them all, I thought I would show you a couple!  ;)  This one went to the Grade 1 teacher (who my eldest son also had a few years ago!) and I know she loves pinks and greens.

I've taken some Kaisercraft paper and covered the front and then added some wide white ribbon down the side.  Next I added a panel of more paper matted with pink bazzill with the bottom punched with the MS Iron Gate Punch and added a piece of pink ribbon down the side.  The image is from Flourishes' Lenten Rose set, has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copic Markers, cut out with Large Rectangle Nestabilities and then matted with pink bazzill cut with Fleur de Lis Rectangle Nestabilities.  I've finished by adding some pink pearls to the top corner and the teacher's name to the striped panel.

This teacher retired from full time teaching this year and we were sad to see her go, but I'm happy to say, she loved the journal!!  ;)

Thanks for visiting, I'll have another one for you soon!!  :)

The Beauty of Winter

Hello Everyone!!  This month the challenge is to create a winter/holiday creation. Link up your Bringing Back Beautiful Challenge creations on the Flourishes Blog to enter. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB17. You have until December 31th to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!

I've made a Christmas card using Flourishes' Christmas Classics set for this month's challenge.  I've made it a Wintery Shaker card (even though here in Australia it's always scorching hot at Christmas time) to get everyone into the festive spirit!  I've used a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with white (pierced) and some Bo Bunny DP.  The side panel is the reverse side of the DP and matted with Chocolate Chip punched with MS Woodland Branch punch.  Over this I've added some ruffled cream ribbon and then a piece of red gingham ribbon.  I've stamped the cardinal in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers (R32, R25, R37, R39, Y23, BG0000, E21, E25, E27).
The shaker is made of Riding Hood Red cut with two of the Labels 16 dies and then glued a piece of acetate to the back. I then sprinkled some Polar White Flowersoft onto the back and adhered the coloured cardinal panel to the frame using X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.  I've stamped the sentiment from the same set, cut with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with more red cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities.  To finish I've added a double gingham bow, topped with a button and silver twine and a few more buttons to the top corner.

Stamps - Christmas Classics (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card,  Riding Hood Red, White, Bo Bunny DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Labels 16, Small Circle and Lacey Circle Nestabilities, May Arts Cream Faux Suede Ruffled Ribbon, Red Gingham Ribbon, Bow Easy, Buttons, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack.

Pink Butterfly

Hello Everyone!!  Things have been crazy at the Jones house of late, not only is the Christmas season upon us, but for Australians, this is also the end of the school year - and with 3 kids, this means I run non-stop for a few weeks with little time for cardmaking.  I hope it settles down when school finishes next Friday!!  This is a card I made for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at SCS that I realised had not made it to my blog.  This one was hosted by Lydia and was to have a Pink Critter on it!!  Now I don't own a lot of 'critter' stamps, so a butterfly it is!!  :)

I've stamped both the flowers and butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR20, YR21, YR23, YR24, G40, G82, R81, R83, R85).  The flowers were cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and framed with green cut with MFT's Dainty Doily Die.  The butterfly was cut out and offset.  Simply added some ivory ribbon, a bow and notched tag using a sentiment from JustRite's Just Because set.

Stamps - Butterflies and Blossoms (Flourishes), Just Because (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Green Bazzill, Chocolate chip, MME Sunshine DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Large Circle Nestabilities, Dainty Doily Die (MFT), Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Scissors, Glue.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!!  :)
