Addicted to Dies!

Hello Everyone!!  I suppose it comes as no surprise to anyone that I have a somewhat obsessive addiction to dies!!  :)  Today I realised as I was making this card that I used 4 different die sets!!! LOL!!!  I also as able to use some of these pretty new Petaloo White Forget Me Nots!  :)

So how did I make this?  I cut a base of white card using Resplendent Rectangles (over the top of the fold), then cut a separate piece of pink using the same die and gluing it to the front (so you don't see the fold of the card or cut off bits of the decorative panel).  Next I cut white using the smaller two dies from the same set.  While the smaller one was still in the die, I've stamped it with Memento Desert Sand and JustRite's Embroidered Background stamp.  The sentiment panel is from Friends Antique Labels One and has been stamped using Bamboo Leaves for the label and Rich Cocoa for the sentiment and then cut out with the matching Antique Labels One Dies.  I've then matted this with a piece of pink cut with Lacey Ovals Nestabilities.  To finish I've created a flower using Prima Meadow Lark paper and Bitty Blossoms Dies and leaves in Old Olive from the same die set and accented with a couple of Petaloo White Forget Me Nots.  :)

Stamps - Friends Antique Labels One, Embroidered Background (JustRite)
Paper - White, Pink, Prima Meadow Lark DP
Ink - Memento Desert Sand, Bamboo Leaves, Rich Cocoa
Accessories - JustRite Antique Labels One Dies, Spellbinders Lacey Ovals, Resplendent Rectangle and Bitty Blossoms, Petaloo White Forget Me Nots, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

JustRite - Petaloo Christmas Inspiration Week Day 5!

It's day five of our Christmas Inspiration week with JustRite and Petaloo Flowers.  The design team is having so much fun using Petaloo Flowers on their projects.  Be sure to hop on over to the Petaloo Blog to see what their design team member has created with our stamps and their flowers.

I've made my base with Grand Labels 23, first cutting a piece of white folded over and then added a separate Riding Hood Red panel over the top.  Then I took the next size down of Grand Labels 23 and cut another piece of white that has been stamped with JustRite's Embroidered Background stamp in Memento Rhubarb Stalk and attached a piece of white satin ribbon.  Next I cut another piece of red with Floral Oval Nestabilities, added a few pieces of bling and two Mini Poinsettias to the bottom corner!  Aren't they gorgeous!!!  :)
Next I've stamped the ornament from Holiday Cheer Ornaments, also in Rhubarb Stalk and added a few touches of green Copic and the sentiment from the same set in Tuxedo Black and cut it out with the matching 2012 Heirloom Ornament Nestabilities.
To finish I've added a white bow to the top of the ornament!  :)

Stamps - Holiday Cheer Ornaments and Embroidered Background (JustRite)
Paper - Riding Hood Red, White
Ink - Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Petaloo Mini Poinsettias, Grand Labels 23, Floral Oval and 2012 Heirloom Ornament Nestabilities, White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Silver Rhinestones, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.

Santa is coming.....

Hello Everyone! Can you believe that Christmas will be here in just over 2 months????  Eeeeek!!!  Me either!!!  Needless to say I have to get cracking on cards and present buying!!  Since today is Create with Me Monday on the Flourishes Blog, I've decided to do a tutorial on colouring the red of this Santa Boot from their new Dear Santa set.  You can find the tutorial HERE!

To create the card, I've used a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with white and some Echo Park Very Merry DP.  Next I've created another panel of more red and the reverse side of the Very Merry DP.  I've cut some red with Tear Drop Circle Nestabilities and matted with white cut with Small Circle Nestabilities.  The image and sentiment from Dear Santa have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Xpress It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've then cut the boot out with scissors and popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment I've made into a notched tag and attached with some red satin ribbon and bow.  To finish I've added a few Kaisercraft Silver Rhinestones to accent.

Help Darsie!!

Help designer Darsie Bruno recover from a fire in her home

Do you have home owner insurance or renters insurance?  You need to!!  Even if you think you can't fit it in your budget this personal story will make you pick up the phone and call your insurance agent tomorrow morning!!

Design team member Darsie Bruno was awakened Tuesday morning by neighbors yelling that the duplex she lived in was on fire. The fire ignited in the other tenant's side of the duplex.

Fire

Darsie PictureWe are so thankful that Darise and her son were safely evacuated from her duplex and that no one was harmed. Firefighters had to go through her side of the duplex to put out the fire on the neighbors side of the duplex and they fought the fire from her craft room.  Of course her craft room was destroyed. Darsie actual had a price quote for renters insurance sitting on her desk.  She wishes that she filled out that form for renter's insurance and urges each of to get insurance if you don't have it. The fee is so small in comparison to having to replace all your belongings.

I can't imagine what Darsie is going through.  She is currently being assisted by the Red Cross, they have provided her with hotel lodging for three days and she is looking for a new place to live.  Many fellow designers, friends and blog readers have asked how we can all help Darsie.

The following companies -JustRite, SpellbindersQuietFire Designs , The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and Splitcoast Stampers are working together on a fund raising campaign to help Darsie find a new home and put her life back together. Of course Darsie will need new craft supplies which we can all help with but what she needs most at the moment is donations so that replace the items in her house that have been damaged by smoke.

If you would like to help Darsie with a small contribution please click on the donate button below and you can make a donation directly into Darsie's paypal account.

Kellie Fortin spoke with Darsie earlier and she is overwelmed by the emotional support and prayers that have been sent her way.  Any donation no matter how small will help.

The outpouring of community support for Darsie has been a true blessing - you can read Darsie's post to all of you this morning here.  The friendships we make in this community are amazing and this week we have been truly blessed that Darsie was not harmed in the fire and that you have been here supporting her.

Darsie found a new place to live yesterday and is so relieved that she will soon be in a new home. Many of you have mentioned that you would like to send Darsie crafting supplies or cards.  If you would like to send Darsie something please contact Angela Barkhouse at agbark@roadrunner.com and she will send you  Darsie's new address.  I prefer not to post Darsie's new address on the web. Thank you for all your love and support.

Thank You Berry Much!

Hello Everyone!!!  Today I've made a card simply because I was inspired by the reds and greens popping up in the stores, but instead of doing Christmas, I've coloured these raspberries, I've always loved how these really come to life!  :)

I've made a base of white cut with Spellbinders A2 Polka Dots and then added a layer of Old Olive and a piece of dotty paper from October Afternoon.  Around the bottom of this I attached a piece of red satin ribbon.  The berries are from Flourishes' Berry Sweet stamp set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R32, R35, R37, R39, RV99, G20, G21, G24, G28 and B0000).  I've cut it out with Lacey Oval Nestabilities and popped up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.  Next I've stamped the sentiment from the same set, cut it out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with Riding Hood Red cut with Small Circle Nestabilities and adhered to the top corner.  To finish I've added a red bow to the bottom corner!  :)

Stamps - Berry Sweet (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, October Afternoon Modern Homemaker DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Polka Dots, Large and Small Circle Nestabilities and Lacey Oval Nestabilities, Red Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It Glue Pen and High Tack Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)
