Summer Berries

Hello Everyone!  Today Power Poppy has another sneak peek for you called Summer Berries!  This set has three images and an array of fabby sentiments!

I started by stamping the image from Summer Berries onto X-press It Blending Card and colouring it with Copics and pencils.  I was trying for something a little different - I think I over thought the bird!  Birds are a challenge for me, so I googled an Australian Red-Browed Finch as inspiration.  I thought it would be interesting with it's red face and green wings......I think I need more work!  In going with my 'let's try something different idea' - I've taken a stencil and blending brush and used Scattered Straw ink to create a bit of a background.  I don't know......what do you think??

I've created the rest of the card with a red base, layer of brown, some Maja Designs paper and die cut the curve of the front with a border die.  I've created the top by cutting some brown card with Scalloped Rectangles die and trimmed to size and topped with a red ribbon.  Finally I've stamped the sentiment from Summer Berries added some enamel dots.

Stamps - Summer Berries (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa, Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake, Tim Holtz Scattered Straw
Paper - X-press It Blending card, Maja Designs Life in the Country Paper, Red, Brown
Accessories - Simply Dies Borders, Divinity Designs Scalloped Rectangles, Urban Artist Stencil, Blender Brush, Red Ribbon, Enamel Dots

Ready for some super sweet creations?  Check out these blogs and leave a little love!

That's all from me today, there's another day of sneak peeks tomorrow so I hope you join us then!  Thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

Strong and Beautiful

Hello Everyone!  It's Day 3 of the sneak peeks at Power Poppy!!  The latest addition to the Enchanted Garden collection is..... Strong and Beautiful.  And beautiful it is!!  With a stunning large floral arrangement complimented with two smaller accent pieces and a range of celebratory sentiments, this set is bound to be a go to!

http://powerpoppy.com/products/strong-and-beautiful

So I decided to focus on the two smaller accent images and give them a moment to shine.  I've die cut a rectangle of X-press It Blending Card with Double Stitched Rectangles Die and stamped the Hellebore (Lenten Rose) in Rich Cocoa ink and then masked it and stamped the fern frond all around it.  I've also used the sentiment from Strong and Beautiful and I've then coloured this panel with Copics and then added a little pencil as well.

My card is created with a base of green, topped with cream and some Golden Grove paper.  Around this is a piece of golden brown ribbon.  I've added another piece of Golden Grove paper and then added the diecut 'brickwall' made with kraft card and Texture 4 Die.  My coloured feature panel has been matted with kraft card and popped up on foam tape and I've finished with a few chocolate pearls.

Stamps - Strong and Beautiful (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa, Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Green, Kraft, Kaisercraft Golden Grove Paper Pad
Accessories - Paper Rose Texture 4 Die, Divinity Designs Double Stitched Rectangle Die, Brown Ribbon, Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls

There's so much more to see by hopping on over to these blogs....

That's all from me today, there's more coming in the release so hope you'll pop by and visit tomorrow!  Thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Hello Everyone!  It's Day 2 of the Enchanted Garden Power Poppy Release!  Today we are showcasing another new clear stamp set called Woodland Carpet!  This beautiful set includes two larger images and three smaller images along with a range of sentiments which would be suitable for either masculine or feminine cards.

I've created my card with a base of cream, layered with rust coloured card.  I've diecut some light brown card with Divine Eloquence and glued this on top of these layers.  Next I've stamped the image from Woodland Carpet in Rich Cocoa onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've diecut the coloured image with Labels 28 and finished off the sky and soil while it was still in the die and then attached it to the top of the card.  Finally I stamped the sentiment from Woodland Carpet onto white card die cut it and popped it up on foam tape.

Stamps - Woodland Carpet (Power Poppy)
Ink - Rich Cocoa, Icing on the Cake

Big Sexy Blooms!

Hello Everyone!  Have I got news for you!!  Power Poppy is releasing a new range of clear stamps called the Enchanted Garden Collection!  There are FIVE beautiful new sets to make you gasp and grab your favourite colouring medium and get creating!  Today we are sneak peeking Big Sexy Blooms which will be available (along with the other four sets) on July 1st.

Ever since I was little I've loved daisies and this bold background beauty of Gerbera Daisies speaks to my soul!  I've stamped Big Sexy Blooms in Icing on the Cake ink onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with a whole lot of Copics.  I decided to let the background shine and accent it with a punched border......which I had nearly completed when my FAVOURITE border punch broke.  I honestly nearly cried.  SIGH!  So I started over with a different border punch to do the edge.  I've then added a layer of white and then trimmed my Big Sexy Blooms layer to size and wrapped a piece of white ribbon around it.  I've been a bit sneaky and added a sentiment from another new set - Strong and Beautiful - but you have to wait until Friday to hear all about that set!!  :)  I've stamped that also in Icing on the Cake ink, die cut with Pierced Circles and layered with Circles dies and popped it up on foam tape.

Stamps - Big Sexy Blooms, Strong and Beautiful (Power Poppy)
Ink - Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Blue
Accesories - Divinity Designs Pierced Circles and Circles Dies, Blue Ribbon, Lattice Border Punch, X-press It Foam Tape

There's LOTS of inspiration for you today, so pop on by these blogs and see what the girls have been creating!

Power Poppy Friday!

Hello Everyone!  It's time for another Power Poppy Friday and today is also a Weekend Stamp Steal for Artistic Bouquet and Rosé All Day digital!  So of course I whipped out my Artistic Bouquet clear set and got to work!  :)

I've stamped this big beauty of an image from Artistic Bouquet onto X-press It Blending Card and then die cut it with Pierced Rectangles Die and then set to colouring it all with Copics!  I always need lots of birthday cards at this time of year (well most times of the year really, but particularly in May and June), so I've used the Birthday Blessings sentiment, also from Artistic Bouquet.  I've matted this with white and put it on an aqua base and finished with a few rhinestones for a bit of sparkle!

Stamps - Artistic Bouquet (Power Poppy)
Ink - Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Aqua
Accessories - Copics, Divinity Designs Pierced Rectangles, Rhinestones, Misti

Power Poppy Friday!

Hello Everyone!!  Can you believe that January is nearly over!!  Me neither!  Here in Australia it has been school holidays through January and all the kidlets go back to school next week - maybe life will go back into some sort of routine.....or the crazy will just ramp up, I'm not sure!  LOL!!

Today I'm using Bee Kind Toile!  This is a fun mix and match set and I've created the focal image using the various images to create the frame and added the cake image into the center.  I've stamped this all up on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've cut this to size and cropped the corners with a corner rounder and matted with some aqua card.  The card base is more aqua topped with cream and some Golden Grove paper.  Around the base I've added some ivory ribbon and topped with a bow.  I've added the image panel as shown and then stamped the banner image and matching sentiment also from Bee Kind Toile, fussy cut it and popped it up on foam tape.

Stamps - Bee Kind Toile (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Aqua, Cream, Kaisercraft Golden Grove Paper
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Corner Rounder, Ivory Ribbon, Bow Easy, Foam Tape

Thankful Poppies

Hello Everyone, today at 11am, we mark the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day.  A day to reflect on the sacrifice of so many called to fight for their countries.  The Great War, the War to End All Wars - sadly that is not the case and still the world continues it's battles and the men and women are still on the frontline, if not in the same manner of those from that time.  I think it is hard for most of us to imagine what life was like 100yrs ago, every family and community affected in some way and the wait for news - often months or years of waiting to hear what had happened to loved ones on the other side of the world.  We think of old portraits, faces of a different time and forget they they were once just young people who had dreams, played sport, had friends, sweethearts and a bright future.  In a small nation like Australia of roughly 5 million people, 62,000 were lost in WW1 here alone.  Our country and the world were never the same after WW1 and I pray that the we remember the saying..... Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.  Let's pray that we never see the world thrown into that sort of destructive turmoil again.

LEST WE FORGET

Today I finally have a card made with an image I coloured up a while ago.  This beautiful  image is called Perfect Poppies and is a digi image by Power Poppy.  I'd made the poppy image and sentiment from Perfect Poppies the size I wanted, printed it off and coloured it up with Copics. I had finished colouring it up and was carefully sponging the edges with some Antique Linen ink, when it turns out I was not so careful and managed to get a bit of ink on my hand and promptly transferred it to the edge of my finished piece.  GAH!!  So I covered it up with some Tea Bag ink and a stencil!  I finished it off with a fancy black frame and die cut a matching piece in white to create the card.  :)

This card is also suitable for this month's Power and Spark Challenge over at Power Poppy to make a Thank-You or Thanksgiving card - you can check all the details HERE!

Stamps - Perfect Poppies (Power Poppy)
Ink - Printer, Antique Linen, Tea Bag
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Black
Accessories - Copics, Stencil, Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles Two

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp and remember!  :)

November Power and Spark

Hello Everyone!!  I'm excited to be bringing you this month's Power and Spark Challenge which is a Thankful Challenge!  As you know I'm an Aussie, which means that we don't have Thanksgiving here as that is a uniquely North American holiday but that doesn't mean we don't have things to be thankful for.  I am and will always be thankful for my dear hubby and gorgeous children, my parents who have always been there for me and my bestie who has been through the highs and lows beside me for the last 30yrs.  November also brings the 97th Birthday of my Grandmother, a very, very special lady in my life who I will always adore and be truly thankful and blessed to have in my life.  On the world calendar, 11 November 2018 brings the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day - a time to reflect and be thankful for all those who have and are still serving for our country.  So what are you thankful for??  Play along with us and make a Thank You or Thanksgiving themed project and link up to the Power Poppy Blog!

I'm also thankful that here Down Under that it is Spring!  So I've reached for Flower Bomb and made it very large, added the sentiment at the top and printed it out and coloured it with a range of Copics.  It really doesn't need much embellishing at all as those beautiful blooms are taking centre stage, so I've matted it with some cream card, added a pink base with a border punch bottom and a few enamel dots to accent.

Stamps - Flower Bomb (Power Poppy)
Ink - Printer
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Pink
Accessories - Copics, ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles, Martha Stewart Deco Fan Border Punch, Enamel Dots

Want to see what the Bloomies have been thankful about, check them out here.....

Don't forget playing along, linking up gives you the chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree at the Power Poppy store!!

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp and play along with us this month!

Hello Everyone!  Today I'm thrilled to sneak peek another of Power Poppy's new Happiest Holiday 2018 release and this gorgeous set is called Let Your Heart Be Light!  This set is so versatile!  Use the top border only, or the bottom border only, add a glow (or not) or put a sentiment in between....the choice is yours!!  The floral images are 4.5 inches wide so will fill the front of a standard sized card if you desire!

I've used the top and bottom borders, one of the sentiments in between as well as the top and bottom 'glow' stamps from Let Your Heart Be Light!  I just love this set.....soooooooo pretty!!  I've stamped the borders in grey, the sentiment in black and the glows in yellow - all on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've then cut this with Labels 25.  I've created the base (6.5 x 4.5 inches) of plain white card and then cut a piece of pink the same size - then used the largest Majestic Labels 25 die to cut the pink panel.  I've glued this to the top and then attached the feature panel into the middle of the card.  To finish I've accented with clear rhinestones as shown.
