30 Day Colouring Challenge!

Hello Everyone!  Have you heard of Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge??  If not, it's happening this month!  This movement started a while ago with Kathy encouraging people to colour every day - even if only for 10mins a day.  You can read all about it on her blog which can by found at The Daily Marker!  Kathy is such an amazing artist and her blog is well worth a visit even if you aren't following the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.

The Bloom Brigade are playing along with the challenge and are having a blog hop with lots of creativity to inspire you!  You can read all about it on the Power Poppy Blog!  I've used one of the latest release clear stamp sets called Poppy XL - a GORGEOUS poppy with mix and match pieces that I just adore!

http://www.thedailymarker.com/2018/06/day-1-the-daily-marker-30-day-coloring-challenge/

Here's a little step by step showing the four Copic Colours I've used for my pink poppy!  (FYI - I actually coloured the entire flower and then realised I forgot to photograph the steps so there may be slight variation with the final image.)

I've stamped this beautiful image from Poppy XL in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card.  I wanted to create one of those soft, pretty, pink poppies, so I've started with Copic RV00 leaving white space for the contrast.

Next I've started deepening those areas with Copioc RV52.

Deepen those shading areas with RV32 - a dusty pink compared with the light RV52.

Really deepen those colours with RV34!

Lightly go over these areas with the above colours until you get the look you want.  You will lose some of the depth of the dark colour when blending with the lighter colours, but you can always add more if you like.  I wanted to keep a softer colour though.

Keep going on all the petals until you've finished the entire flower.  (The middle is coloured with V22, V25, V28, YG01).
