February is a busy month of birthdays for me, so you will probably be seeing lots of birthday cards on the blog for a while. :)
Today's card is for a sweet lady who has a birthday soon. I really wanted to use this pretty floral paper by DCWV, from the Nana's Nursery Collection. I decided to use Very Vanilla as a base, matted it with Wild Wasabi and matted again with Rose Red, topping it with that pretty paper. Then I took a piece of Rose Red and used my Fiskars border punch (Lazy Days of Summer) to make a panel and put some ivory satin ribbon around it. Then I grabbed my new Label One nesties, cut the larger panel in Wild Wasabi and the smaller one in Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from SU's 'Elegant Cheer' (not available in Australia yet) stamped in Rose Red. The cute little flowers are done using the Boho Blossoms punch (SU). I punched 6 flowers (the small rounded one) out of Rose Red cardstock, curved the top one a bit and offset it over the other one. Then I punched 3 of the pointed flowers in Wild Wasabi and put the Rose Red flowers on top so that the green looks like leaves and added a large Kaisercraft 'Blush' pearl to each centre. Finally I finished off by adding small 'Blush' pearls to each corner.
I think it turned out kinda cute and I hope the birthday girl likes it! :)
That's all for today, thanks for visiting!! :)

Pretty Inspired.....
Today's card was inspired by THIS gorgeous card that was made by 'Itsapassion' over at SCS. I just loved what she had made so much, I had to make one of my own!! :)
I started with a white card base and matted it with some purple bazzill and matted it again with some more white that I embossed with the Stylized Flower embossing folder by provocraft. The centre panel has been made using the Label One dies by Spellbinders (I found mine at Bizzy Becs ). The flower is from SU called "Pretty Amazing" (I don't think it is available in Australia yet??), I've stamped it in versacolor (3 shades of purple) and cut out the three layers and popped them. The branch punches are by Martha Stewart and as far as I know - you can't get Martha Stewart craft materials ANYWHERE in Australia!! :( I finished off the flower by adding some white organdy ribbon underneath. The I added the sentiment to the corner of the panel which is from SU's 'Occasional Greetings' (In the US it's 'All Holidays') set stamped in Lovely Lilac and finished off by adding some silver brads to the corners.

Australia Day and Featured Stamper
Happy Australia Day everyone and hope you had a good day no matter where you are in the world! I finally had the chance to play in this week's Featured Stamper challenge on SCS! This week's honour goes to Vicky Gould and she has the most amazing gallery! I decided to case her Wise men still seek him card and changed the image and colours and added some paper and sentiment.
I started with a base of Groovy Guava and matted it with some Soft Sky (pierced of course!) and then matted again with 'Afternoon Tea' paper (all SU and all available now in Australia!!) The main panel is stamped using Bloomin' with Beauty (or Bloomin' Beautiful in the US) and coloured with markers and added some piercing to the corners and stamped the sentiment from Occasional Greetings (All Holidays in the US) in Groovy Guava. Then I stuck it to a much larger piece of groovy guava added some gold brads and tied some gold satin ribbon around it. That panel was then added to the Soft Sky panel that I had cut and then punched the sides with a border edge punch by Fiskars called 'Lazy Days of Summer' and stuck to the front of the card.
Well that's all for today, thanks for visiting!! :)

Welcome Baby Colton!!
A friend of mine gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy this week!!! So happy for her and her family!!! I looked back and found Sketch Challenge 211 over at SCS and thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to make. I started with some blue bazzil and matted it with some white and then matted again with some green bazzill. Then I found some cute checked paper by Jasart that I found at ABSA and matted it with the blue bazzill and tied some blue gingham ribbon around each panel. The main image is from SU's Bundle of Joy stamp set that was kindly lent to me by EDNA that I coloured with markers and pierced the border and cut out with my rectangle nestabilities. The stars are made with Spellbinders star nestabilities that I got for Christmas from my wonderful hubby!!! I've added some mini silver circle brads to each star and the sentiment is from SU's 'Small Sayings' to finish off.
That's all for today, thanks for visiting!! :)

SC212 - Sketch Challenge
I need to make a heap of cards - particularly birthday cards - so I thought I'd use this week's SCS Sketch Challenge to start with. I'm not sure if I'm totally happy with the result - feels a bit busy to me?! What do you think??
I started with a green bazzill base, matted with white and then matted again with a piece of pink bazzill that I embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder (I LOVE my Swiss Dots EF!!). Then I added a piece of striped Clover paper and added some pink satin ribbon across the bottom and topped it with the sentiment from Short and Sweet ( Stampin Up! ) and punched out with oval punches (also SU). The rectangle was cut out with classic and scalloped Mega Rectangle Nestabilities (from Bizzy Becs ) and the top layer put through the cuttlebug with Swiss Dots. The flower (from SU's Live Your Dream, currently available in the Australian Mini Catty) was stamped in Versacolor and cut out and put on top of the Swiss Dots. From the same set I stamped the butterfly and punched it out with circle punches and added some paper piercing and pearls.
That's all for now, thanks for visiting!! :)

Featured Stamper - Stamp_momma!!
I am loving Featured Stamper Sunday!! This week the honour goes to Stamp_momma! I had a hard time choosing which card to case and finally settled on this card because I thought it would be good for the project I had in mind.
We have a new Chaplain starting at our church and school and thought I would make a welcome card for him and his family. I started with a piece of blue bazzill that I had lying around and matted it with some Very Vanilla and then some Chocolate Chip and put a piece of Chateau Stripe paper by Chatterbox down the side. The I paper pierced around the Very Vanilla layer and the Chocolate Chip half to the stripe pp. The image and sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs . The image is from 'Light of the World', stamped in black and coloured with markers, sponged the sky and cut out with circle nestabilites and then matted on Very Vanilla that was cut out with the pinking circle nestabilities that I got for Christmas and finally have the chance to use!!! I've added a gold swirl clip with a bit of cream and brown ribbon to the side and added some gold brads to the corners and finished off by stamping the sentiment from 'Flourished Christian Symbols' in versamark and embossed in gold to the bottom.

I prayed for you today
Today's card is one that I made a little while ago that never made it onto the blog, but I loved the way it turned out.
I started with some soft blue bazzill that I matted with some white (pierced of course!! LOL!) and then another layer of blue bazzill. I topped that with some of this gorgeous paper by Little Yellow Bicycle (Blue Lace from the Delightful collection). The square panel is more of the blue bazzill on white that I've stamped with Verve's Grateful Elegance set in versamark, embossed in white and tied some white organdy ribbon around it. The cross is from Verve's Notes of Prayer set and stamped in sand beige (versacolor). I've added a blue square rhinestone brad from 'Bella' and cut the ovals out with oval nestabilities. The sentiment is stamped in the same colour and also from the Notes of Prayer set and I've finished off by adding three tiny pearls (Kaisercraft) in each corner.

Featured Stamper - Jaydekay
It's been such a long time since I've uploaded, what with Christmas and the school Summer holidays. I'm trying to kick start my sluggish mojo with this week's Featured Stamper challenge. I've chosen this card by Jaydekay to case. I've changed the colours, the shape of the centre panel, a different rose stamp (since I didn't have the one she used), added paper, corner embellishments and a sentiment.
I started with a mid pink Bazzill base and matted with a pale pink that I had embossed with the cuttlebug and 'Textile' embossing folder. Across the bottom I used some pink stripe paper by 7 Gypsies that I found in my stash. Across the join is some white grosgrain ribbon and the corners are done using the 'Vintage' die set cut out in white card. The centre panel has been made using the biggest oval nestabilities and I've pierced the scallops with a paper piercer and stamped the sentiment from SU's Elegant Cheer in Close to Cocoa. The rose is from SU's 'A Rose is a Rose', stamped in Petal Pink and Orchid (Versacolor) and cut out. The leaves are stamped in Sage (full and stamped off once) and cut out. (Sorry neither of these sets are available in Australia yet.) The entire panel was popped up on foam tape to finish.
That's it for today, it's great to be back and thanks for visiting! :)
