Camellias for Anna

Hello Everyone!  If you've been following my recent posts, you'll know that over the last couple of weeks I've been making gifts for our kids' teachers!  I can't believe another school year is over and Christmas is nearly here!!!  Each year I make altered notebooks for the teachers, find out their favourite colours and try and make something that I think would suit their personality - I figure at least they won't get another one like it! ;-)  Today's altered notebook was for my daughter's Grade 2 teacher who likes blue and green!  Anna is also talented in art and does some amazing work and did the coolest cartoon picture of her class this year incorporating their nicknames!  My daughter was nicknamed 'Rapunzel' - and yes, she has very long, blonde hair!  :)

I use hardcover Spirax notebooks - this makes them easy to cover and I have a Spiral punch (by Stampin' Up, but I'm not sure if they still exist???) to punch the sides of the paper which fits beautifully around the coils.  I've covered this one with Kaisercraft paper and added a panel of Soft Sky cut with Grand Labels 23 (do the Grand Dies still exist?  Not sure?).  Next I've added a panel of blue punching the bottom with a border punch and topping with the reverse of the DP and wrapping a ribbon around it.  Next are layers of white and Soft Sky cut with Tranquil Moments.  I've stamped the image from Power Poppy's Simply Camellias in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66, Y00, Y11, Y15, Y17, G40, G43, G46, B0000, B000, B00) and cut it out with an Oval Die.  To finish I've accented with a couple of rhinestones and a bow and cut the letters of her name out with Font One - Uppercase.

The card has been made with a base of white, topped with Soft Sky cut with Tranquil Moments.  Next is a piece of white cut with an oval die, topped with more Soft Sky cut with Tranquil Moments.  This image, although it looks like the one I used above, is actually the digi version called Camellias, that I've printed a bit smaller onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics like the one above and cut with an oval die.  To finish I've just added a bow.

For the bag, I've used the single camellia image from Simply Camellias and randomly stamped it in blue ink all over the bag and finished with a raffia bow.

Stamps - Simply Camelias, Camellias (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Kaisercraft DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Petite Ovals (ret), Font One Uppercase and Tranquil Moments Dies, MS Border Punch, Clear Rhinestones, Blue Ribbon, Bow Easy

Not only did Anna love her gift, I was so surprised to get an email from her the week-end after school finished to thank me again for it!!  Such a sweet lady!!  :)  I'm just happy she liked it!  :)

Well, thanks for hanging in there all the way to the end!  That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

A Little Candle Gift

Hello Everyone!!  It's Power Poppy Friday and the last one before Christmas Day!  I have kids in my house counting the days!  Today's project is a super quick one to do and one I did to add a little extra into a Secret Santa gift for this year's staff Christmas Party.  I already had a couple of things in there and just wanted a little something else - you know what I mean!  :)  This project also fits the Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge for this month in the Gifts from the Heart section.  Since it is the Time to Rewind Challenge and there are 10 sections to choose from, I'm sure you'll find one that suits you!!

This was just a plain white and not very large candle that I found at the discount store.  I stamped the image from Power Poppy's Springtime Love onto white tissue paper in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured it with Copics.  Colours don't really blend particularly well on tissue paper because it is so thin, so you don't have to be too careful about it (just stay in the lines!).  Once it's coloured, I've trimmed it fairly close and placed it on the candle and covered it with waxed paper.  Hold the waxed paper tight and heat with a heat gun - you'll see it melt into the candle!

For the back, I've used the sentiment from Power Poppy's Good Thinking: Renewal set and followed the same steps (without the colouring) as above.  To finish I've just tied some raffia around the base of the candle.  I think this time of year we all need a little of 'Relax and Restore' don't you??!!

Stamps - Springtime Love, Good Thinking: Renewal (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - White Tissue Paper, Waxed Paper
Accessories - Copics, Raffia, Candle

Make sure you pop by the other Bloomies playing along today and take a peek at what they've whipped up this week!
Thanks for popping by and hope you enjoyed this quick project that you can add to a gift pack and whip up in no time!  Hope you are inspired to stamp  :)

Teacher Gifts for End of Year

WHEW - I survived the end of the school year!  I'm sure everyone who has or had school aged children will understand the craziness that it the end of the school year.  Here in Australia it usually falls in the second week of December which of course is also the lead up to Christmas and all the associated parties and so forth and for us, our eldest son also had a week long representative cricket carnival at the same time.  Talk about chaos!  I always feel like I'm clawing my way through to the last day of school!  To add to the craziness I make covered journal/notebooks with matching cards for the teachers.  Now I do this EVERY YEAR, so you would think that I would start earlier in the year, but nooooooooo.... I'm always madly finishing it during the chaos.  One year I will learn!

Today I'm showing you a set I made for my son's Grade 5 teacher, who is a lovely and super organised lady and if there is anyone who would use a notebook it is her!  :)  I'm happy to say she absolutely loved it!  :)

For the card, I made the blue base out of 5x7 Detailed Scallops and layered with white cut with Labels 40 Nestabilities and layered with blue cut with Labels 40 Decorative Elements.  Around this I've attached some purple ribbon.  I've stamped the lilacs from Lilac Time in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (V01, V15, V17, YG03,YG93, YG95, YG97, R24, R29, B0000, B000, B21) and then attached to the front.  I've then cut some purple card wtih Splendid Circles and topped with white cut with circle dies.  The letter is for 'Linda' not lilac, and cut with Spellbinders Font One - Upper and the whole panel popped up on foam tape.

For the journal, I've covered the front with FabScraps Shabby Chic paper and added a panel of purple topped with white (embossed).  Next I've added a strip of purple punched with a border punch, topped with the reverse of the paper and wrapped a purple ribbon around it.  I've created the centre piece by following the steps listed above for the card, once again using Power Poppy's Lilac Time for the feature image.

Did you notice that I stamped the lilac image all over the bag in a blue ink?  I've used the same stamp to create custom packaging and finished off with a raffia bow!

Stamps - Lilac Time (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Blue, Purple, White, FabScraps Shabby Chic DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders 5x7 Detailed Scallops, Labels 40 and Labels 40 Decorative Elements, Oval Dies, Font One - Uppercase, Circle and Stately Circle Dies, MS Border Punch, Purple Ribbon, X-press It Foam Tape

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading the whole, very long post! Hope your life is not as crazy as mine and hope today's post has you inspired to stamp!  :)

Thank You Fireworks

Hello Everyone!  A little while ago I had a post showing a covered notebook that I made for my son's teacher.....well today I'm showing the card that I made to go with it!  Designed to match yet not be an exact replica.  :)  If you missed that post (and the latest Power and Spark Challenge!) you can find that HERE!!

I've used a base of Blushing Bride topped with white and some random DP from my stash.  I've stamped the sentiment from So Grateful in Versafine Black in the bottom corner.  I like that this is a pretty and small script that fits nicely across the bottom!  :)  Across the middle I've used another panel of white topped with the reverse side of the DP.  Next is a piece of Blushing Bride cut with Majestic Labels 25 and attached to the middle.  Over all these layers is a piece of pink ribbon.  Next I've printed the Garden Fireworks image  (I've made it the size that fits nicely in the oval I wanted to use!) onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (RV00, RV32, RV34, YG11, YG13, YG17, G82, G85, G94, V000, V12, V17, V91, C2, B63, B66, BG0000, BG000) and then popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a bow and rhinestones to the corners.

Stamps - Garden Fireworks, So Grateful (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Blushing Bride, White, DP
Ink - Printer, Versafine Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Oval and Majestic Labels 25, Pink Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape, Clear Rhinestones

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

If you have been a follower of my blog for a while, you may have noticed that time time of year I start making covered journals and notebooks. Unlike my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, the end of the school year for Aussie kids is December - usually two weeks before Christmas! As you can imagine, this is a crazy and chaotic time for me with three school aged children!  Soooooooo.....I chose to rewind to the Gifts from the Heart Challenge and made a notebook.......which was actually handed over to a teacher TODAY!  (I was relieved to hear she loved it!)

I use a Spirax hard cover, spiral bound notebook.  I prefer the hard cover, it makes them easier to cover and the spiral binding matches well with my spiral punch.  I've covered the notebook with some pretty and fun paper (thinking of the recipient)  and punched the side with a spiral punch.  I've then attached the paper to the cover with X-press It High Tack Tape to secure it in place.  I've then added a panel of white topped with the reverse print from the DP and attached a piece of pink ribbon.  I've printed out the image (actually part of the image since I cropped it in photoshop) from Garden Fireworks on X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics and cut it out with Majestic Labels 25 and glued in place.  I've cut two circles of card and attached the die cut 'B' in the centre and attached as shown.  To finish I've added a couple of rhinestone to the corner.

Stamps - Garden Fireworks (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Pool Party, Random DP from the stash
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25, Circle Dies, Font One Upper Case Alphabet, Pink Ribbon, Clear Rhinestones, X-press It High Tack Tape

There's lots of fun to be had today with such a broad range of challenges to choose from, check out what the team has to inspire you!!
That's all from me today, hope you play along with us and are inspired to stamp!  :)

Remember You Are Brave

Hello Everyone!  I have a new card today for you using one of the latest releases by JustRite Papercraft called Remember You Are!  If you have a fondness for Winnie the Pooh this will have a familiar feel!  Full of mix and match words to create a sentiment perfect for the person you have in mind!  I have a friend who's had a rough time lately and I thought this combo in particular would be fitting for her.

I've used a base of black card and layered with red and some Spring Bloom DP.  Next is a strip of black topped with more DP.  Around this I've attached cream and aqua ribbons.  I've then used the JustRite Vintage Labels Seven Dies (ooops, just realised that this particular die is no longer available - sorry about that!) to cut a piece of DP and a piece of black card.  I've cut the card panel in half so it can frame the other piece a little.  The sentiment from Remember You Are has been stamped in black and red inks to highlight the words braver and believe and then cut it out with a circle die and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added some clear rhinestones and a couple of buttons.

Stamps - Remember You Are (JustRite Papercraft)
Paper -Black, White, Red, Kaisercraft Spring Bloom DP
Ink - Black and Red
Accessories - JustRite Vintage Labels Seven, Circle Nestabilities, Rhinestones, Buttons

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Let's Chill Baby!

Hello Everyone!  It's time to CHILL with a  special offering from Power Poppy called Let's Chill!  This is a digi set with a fabby snowman with his special birdie friend, a sentiment and a cool snowflake background to play with!  I mean, how much fun is this!!  You'll find even more inspiration with this set on the Power Poppy Blog today!!  Haven't played with digi stamps before??  Make sure you pop by THIS post at Power Poppy central - I have this bookmarked for frequent check ins as it is soooooooo useful! Trust me, they aren't as scary as they seem!  ;-)

Before I get started on the makings of my card.....if you love this little snow dude....he's ON SALE for ONLY ONE DOLLAR!!!  Yep, $1, but only until Monday!  Have another set on your wish list, well you can purchase any of the clear or digi sets for 20% OFF!!!  WOOHOOOOOO!!!!  You don't even need a code, all the prices are adjusted in the store!  The Sale is on until Monday, but don't wait too long and miss out on your favourite!  :)

So, the first thing I did was print out the bits and pieces from the digi set! I used the snowflake background from Let's Chill and changed it to a soft blue and then added the snowman over the top.  I coloured the snowman with Copics (B0000, B000, N1, R32, R35, G82, G85, YR20, YR12, E81, E84, E87, E21, E23).  I've then printed out the background without the snowman for the back panel.  I've also printed the sentiment and put it aside.  I've printed all these on X-press It Blending Card, it's prefect for colouring with Copics and will also go through the inkjet printer with ease.  To construct it all, I've used a base of Soft Sky and layered with River Rock (ret. I think?) and topped with the snowflake panel that I printed earlier.  I've cut the snowman image with Majestic Labels 25 and matted it with Soft Sky cut with the same die set and glued it to the front of the card.  The sentiment has been cut out with a small oval punch and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a few silver sequins to add a little sparkle!

Stamps - Let's Chill (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, River Rock
Ink - Computer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25, Oval Punch, Silver Sequins, X-press It Foam Tape

To the New Parents!

Hello Everyone!  The last card I made was for a baby boy, so today I thought I should put up one for a baby GIRL!  This is another new sweet baby set by JustRite Papercraft called We Are Having A Baby.  It's got a couple of adorable bear images and I chose this super cute one with balloons!

I've used a base of Kraft card and layered with white (pierced around the edge) and some pretty Maja Designs paper.  Down the side is a strip of kraft topped with a ribbon.  The next panel is white topped with matching Maja Designs paper.  I've stamped the bear from We Are Having A Baby in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've cut this out with Oval Nestabilities and while still in the die, I've lightly sponged some ink around the edge.  I've matted this with kraft cut with Floral Oval Nestabilities.  I've created the sentiment with two stamps (instead of parents you can choose other options!) from the same set, cut it out with Circle Nestabilities, once again sponging a little ink while still in the die and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a few pink buttons!

Sooooooo.....what did I use today??  It's a set called Arriving Soon and I mean seriously, how CUTE is this set!!!  I've used a base of Marina Mist and added a layer of white topped with some Playtime DP. Next is a strip of Marina Mist topped with more Playtime DP.  Tucked under that layer is a circle of white that I've embossed with Spots and Dots embossing folder (to give a moon like appearance!).  I've stamped the rocket and flourishes from Arriving Soon in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've cut this out with Labels 28 and sponged the edges with Summer Sky ink while still in the die and attached as shown.  The sentiment, also from Arriving Soon, is done in matching ink, cut into a notched tag and secured with a button.  I've added a little bunting using JustRite's Buntings and Button dies to cut Marina Mist and Playtime DP and attached across the top.  I've added some piercing down the side and then finished with a couple of extra buttons.

Headphones Birthday

Hello Everyone!!  This week I was once again faced with the dreaded MAN CARD - this time for my music obsessed husband!  I help me cope with the dreaded Man Card, I reached for what is fast becoming one of my most used sets - Well Played by Power Poppy!!  Although this set seems aimed at more female cards, I'm finding that is just as useful for male cards too and perfect for TEENS!!!  Don't know about everyone else, but male teens are proving just as difficult or even MORE SO than the Man Card!  I have a male teen and a male pre-teen, so this is something I have to get used to and quick!!  :)

So, for this card I've used a base of cream and layered with brown topping with some chevron Authentique DP.  I've added a strip of more cream and some DP from the same paper pad.  Peeking out from underneath is a notched tag stamped with a sentiment from Go Wild (a very useful set with lots of Birthday Sentiments!).  I've stamped the headphones from Well Played in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (B00, B12, B14, C1, C3, C5) and then fussy cut it with scissors.  I've attached this to a circle of cream and adhered as shown.  To finish I've added a few buttons.

Stamps - Well Played, Go Wild (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - Cream, Brown, Authentique Journey DP
Accessories - Copics, Circle Dies, Buttons, Glue, Scissors

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!!

Peonies

Hello Everyone!  Today is the last day of the JustRite Papercraft October release! I hope you've loved all the sets as much at the DT have and of course we've saved my favourite for last!!  PEONIES!!!  Who can resist beautiful blooms that you can use to create a bouquet in a mason jar??!! Swooooon!!  And just to make that little bit more irresistible.... you can buy the matching Peonies Cutting Dies!!  Swoooooon again!!!

I've used a base of pink card, layered with cream card and some DP.  Next I've cut some pink card with Decorative Labels 8.  The next panel is a piece of cream cut with Tonic Studios Royal Frame with Butterfly Insert Die.  I didn't cut the butterfly panel, only the outer and can I say, all the pieces just FALL OUT....OMGosh, such an easy clean up!!  Ooops, where was I?  I actually ran a wide piece of ivory ribbon through the Tonic Die and then attached a piece of pink trim over the top. Now the fun part!  I actually stamped and masked my images from Peonies to create the bouquet in the top of the mason jar.  Once I did that, I coloured it all with Copics (RV00, RV52, RV55, RV66, G40, G43, G46, YG97, B0000, B000, B21, B91, B93, Y21) and added a touch of Kirarina 2Win Lemon Yellow to the center.  Because I masked it, I had to fussy cut it all and then popped it up on foam tape.  Why did I fussy cut it when there are Peonies Cutting Dies???  Well, mine hadn't arrived in time, but you know I'll be using them next time!!  ;-)

Stamps - Peonies (JustRite Papercraft)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, Cream, Tilda Apple Blossom DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Tonic Royal Frame with Butterfly Insert, Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8, Wide Ivory Ribbon, Pink Trim, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape

Pinwheel Daisies

Hello Everyone!  Are you ready for a new fun and funky set??  Today JustRite Papercraft is releasing their latest stamp set.......say hello to Pinwheel Daisies!  There are many flower stamps in this set to play with and you can just imagine all the effects and combos you can create with them!! And if that wasn't exciting enough....... you can also buy the dies to match, Pinwheel Daisies Die Set!!  I love the funky retro feel of this set and I'm sure you will too!!  :)

I've used a base of Pool Party and then cut some Daffodil Delight and X-press It Blending Card using A2 Curved Borders One.  I've then stamped a couple of the images from Pinwheel Daisies in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV52, Y15, BG10, BG11, BG13).  After that I decided the white was a bit stark, so I sponged a little Antique Linen around the images and attached to the yellow base.  Around these layers I've added some sheer ribbon and popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment from Morning Splendor has been stamped at the bottom as shown.

Stamps - Pinwheel Daisies, Morning Splendor (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One, Sheer Ribbon, X-press It Foam Tape

I've used a base of So Saffron and layered with white and some Christmas Carol DP.  Down the side I've attached a piece of green ribbon and then added another piece of Christmas Carol paper across the card front.  I've stamped the wreath and candle accent from Wreaths Plain and Fancy in the middle in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (Y21, Y26, Y28, G40, G43, G46, G82, G85, G99, E51).  I've cut it out with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with So Saffron cut with Delightful Circles and popped it up on foam tape.  I've stamped the sentiment, also from Wreaths Plain and Fancy, in yellow and cut it and matted it with green card and also popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a couple of rhinestones to the corner.

Stamps - Wreaths Plain and Fancy (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, So Saffron, White, Green, Kaisercraft Christmas Carol DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Yellow
Accessories - Copics, Small Circle and Delightful Circles, Circle Punches, Green Ribbon, Clear Rhinestones, X-press It Foam Tape

Morning Splendor

Hello Everyone!  It's day three of the JustRite Papercraft October Release!  Today the JustRite girls are showcasing a dreamy new set called Morning Splendor!  I just looooooove this with it's soft flowing blooms and swirly tendrils floating about!!  You'll love the different images in this set and all the pretty sentiments that go with it!!  I know I'll be using this one a LOT!!

I decided to let the image from Morning Splendor take center stage and stamped it on a large piece of X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (B60, B63, B66, G40, G43, G46, E21, YR30, YR31) and added some silver detail with a Kirarina Wink Silver Pen. The sentiment, also from Morning Splendor, has been stamped in the top corner and accented with a yellow Copic Marker.  I've matted the panel with cream card, punching the bottom with the Deco Fan border punch.  This has been placed on the card base of blue bazzill, cream card, two pieces of Graphic 45 DP and a strip of blue ribbon with a notched end. To finish I've added a couple of buttons.

Stamps - Morning Splendor (JustRite)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Blue Bazzill, Graphic 45 DP

A Beautiful Wedding

Hello Everyone!  It's time for the JustRite Papercraft October Release!!  If you missed yesterday's peek you can find that HERE! Today I am actually using one of the stamps from yesterday's set called Grand Wedding Wishes, as well as one from today's brand new set called Wedding Inner Sentiments!  You know all those times when you want to put a little something inside a special card like a wedding and can't think of the words?  Well Wedding Inner Sentiments is just for you!!

To create the front of my card I used a base of white, layered with Soft Sky, some Maja Design DP and more white cut with A2 Tranquil Moments. Across this is some white ribbon topped with Soft Sky cut with the smaller die from Tranquil Moments. I've used a slightly darker card cut with Stately Circles and layered with with Soft sky and then white stamped with Tuxedo Black using Grand Wedding Wishes. To finish I added a bow, button and cord and a few clear rhinestones.

For my inside, I've taken a strip of Maja Design paper, matted with the darker blue card and punched the border with Deco Fan border punch.  I've added the sentiment from Wedding Inner Sentiments to the inside by stamping it directly to the card in Memento Summer Sky - such a pretty blue to tie it all together - leaving some space for a sweet note for the happy couple!

Can't wait to see what the JR Girls have created with this set??  Me neither!  You can find all the JR inspiration at the following blogs!!

Botanical Tree

Hello Everyone! It's New Release Time from Power Poppy!!  WOOHOO!!  Today's the first day, so you haven't missed a thing and we are kicking off with a fabby new set called Botanical Tree.  There will be more Christmas goodness through the week so make sure you pop by the Power Poppy Blog through to Sunday to see what goodies they have in store for you this festive season!

Usually I am drawn to the larger image in a set, but today I really liked the 'JOY' sentiment and this sweet little Poinsettia image.  I have to admit, I'm more than a little fond of the poinsettia for Christmas!  I've stamped the sentiment in green ink and the poinsettia from Botanical Tree in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card.  I've coloured the flower in Copics (R32, R35, R37, R89) and added touches of Gold Kirarina Wink pen to the centre and fussy cut.  I've created a tag using a die cut of green card then layered with white and some Echo Park Very Merry Christmas paper.  I've added another strip of the same paper and then some gingham ribbon underneath.  I've also pierced a row top and bottom of the paper.  I've cut the sentiment out with Labels 33 and popped it up on foam tape.  I've then attached the poinsettia as shown, added a couple of clear rhinestones and tied a gingham ribbon to the top.  The bag is a basic brown bag with a piece of Very Merry paper matted with green attached to the front! Quick and easy!!  :)

Stamps - Botanical Tree (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Green
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Old Olive, White, Echo Park Very Merry Christmas DP
Accessories - Copics, Tag Die, Spellbinders Labels 33, Paper Piercer, Clear Rhinestones, Red Gingham Ribbon, X-press It Foam Tape

Wait until you see what inspiration the Bloomies have for you today!!!
Thanks for visiting and make sure you pop by tomorrow for a brand new set with a whole fresh twist on Christmas - you are going to love it!  Enjoy today's hop and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

Bee Love for Power Poppy Friday!

Hello Everyone!  Not only is it Power Poppy Friday - it's the first Friday of the month, so that makes it Power Poppy, Power and Spark Challenge time!  This month our lovely hostess with the most-ess is JULIE!!  Julie has challenged us to a “Bits & Pieces” challenge, which encourages everyone to use just bits and pieces of a stamp image. Stamp a part of the image off the side, punch a part of it out, die cut off the edge. Basically, anything goes if you use just a portion of the image on your card!  How fun is that??!!  Don't forget by playing along, you could win a stamp set of your choice!  For all the deets and how to link up and play along, pop on over to the Power Poppy Blog!

I have used the Asters Abuzz Digi stamp and enlarged it a LOT!  You may notice there are a lot more bees than if you just cropped the image.....well I did a bit of Photoshop magic and borrowed the bee at the bottom of the original image, resized it to three different sizes and placed them on the image as shown!  Thought a sentiment like 'Bee Love' needed lots of bees!  :)  I also placed the digi sentiment onto my custom made image, but changed the colour to yellow first by using THIS totally awesome tutorial by Julie!  (I have this page permanently bookmarked as a reference!)

So, once I had the digi image the way I wanted it, I've printed it off onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copic Markers (lots of Copic markers - sorry I was in the colouring zone and forgot to note them all down).  I've cut it out with Labels 8 and matted it with Pool Party card cut with Decorative Labels 8.  I've placed this on a layer of white and attached some yellow ribbon as shown.  I've popped this on a piece of folded Pool Party card and finished by adding some bling!

Let's see what the Bloomies have for you today!!
Thanks for popping by and hope you play along with the Power and Spark Challenge with us and that you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Hey Girl!

Hello Everyone!!  It's time for a little Power Poppy Friday!  I've been playing with Well Played for today's card........I wonder what the other girls have been creating with?  I have to say these are not my usual colours, but was influenced by a little 60's style and imagined something a bit funky that would be suitable for a teen girl. It's fun to change up your style don't you think?

I've used a base of orange and layered with white, pink and some Cherry Blossom DP.  I've added another couple of pieces of Cherry Blossom paper and then added some very bright orange ribbon and green ric rac.  I've stamped the image from Well Played in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics and then cut out with Labels 1 nestabilities.  I've matted this with black cut and embossed with Large Circle Nestabilites and popped it up on foam tape.  I've then stamped the music bubble in black, coloured with copics and fussy cut and attached as shown.  The sentiment has been stamped in Rose Bud and attached to the top corner.  To finish I've added a few enamel dots.

Stamps - Well Played (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Orange, Pink, White, Kaisercraft Cherry Blossom DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud
Accessories - Copics, Labels 1 and Large Circle Nestabilities, Orange Ribbon, Ric Rac, Enamel Dots, X-press It Foam Tape

Great Joy

Hello Everyone!  Have you been enjoying the new releases by JustRite Papercraft??  We hope you are as excited as we are that JustRite is back and bringing new products!  Today I have the pleasure of introducing the newest set......Great Joy!  This is such a beautiful set - firstly I've always loved angel images and secondly the sentiments also include verses from the bible to share and celebrate the meaning of Christmas!

I've used a base of Soft Sky and then added a piece of cream punched with a neglected Fiskars border punch and topped with some December 25th DP.  I've stamped the sentiment and angel from Great Joy in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card.  The angel has been coloured with Copics (B00, B12, B14, B16, E000, E01, E11, YR31) and I've also added some Clear Atyou Spica to the wings - which sadly you can't really see in the photo, but it's really pretty.  :)  I've added a little yellow Copic to the star on the sentiment and then cut it out with Radiant Rectangles and matted it with Soft Sky cut with the same die set and then popped it all up on X-press It Foam Tape.  The angel has been fussy cut with scissors and also popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added pearls to the corners.

I decided to decorate the inside with a left over strip of DP onto Cream card and then stamped another sentiment, also from Great Joy in Memento Desert Sand.

Stamps - Great Joy (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, Cream, Kaisercraft December 25th DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Desert Sand
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles, Fiskars Border Punch, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Scissors, X-press It Foam Tape

Keep the Faith

Hello Everyone!!  I can't believe how long it's been since my last post - as my friend Julie would say - I've been running around with my hair on fire for the last couple of weeks!!  I've just finished a magazine feature - you'll see that in December, but that's all I can tell you right now.  :)  My boys are preparing for the cricket season (the sport, not the insect!), my eldest has tried out for Representative cricket, I'm helping with the running of the cricket club, my daughter has performed in two concerts, I spent all Saturday airbrushing tattoos for a school fete and then of course there is work and never ending housework, cooking and groceries!! I'm exhausted!  So today (my day off work), I had the joy to sit down and happily colour and create a card!  YAY!!!

Today I've used Happy Crabapple by Power Poppy (ooooh.....can I insert here that the latest issue of Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft has a Power Poppy card by my talented MUM on the cover!!!  WOOHOO!!  Way to go Mum!!).  Now, where was I??  Oh yes, I stamped the Happy Crabapple image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YG21, YG23, YG25, YG95, E81, E84, E87, RV000, RV52, RV55, R00, R11, R12, B0000, B000, B00).  I've cut this into a square, trimmed two of the corners and matted with pink card.  I've made the other panel out of Soft Sky, punching the bottom with a Fiskars border punch and topped with Apple Blossom Tilda DP and attached a piece of blue ribbon around it.  I've attached both these panels to the front of a folded square of Baked Brown Sugar card.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out with an oval punch and I've added a little blue copic around the edge and then accented with a couple of buttons.

Stamps - Happy Crabapple (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, Soft Sky, Baked Brown Sugar, Tilda Apple Blossom DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Blue Ribbon, Buttons, X-press It Foam Tape

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)
