Watercolouring Peonies

Hello Everyone!  Today on the Copic Oz Blog, I have a tutorial on how to use Watercolour Pencils with your Copic Markers!  For all the details on how to colour this image, pop on over to Copic Oz!  For the card details, keep reading!  :)

I've used a base of pale purple Bazzill and layered with Very Vanilla and some FabScraps Marie Antoinette DP.  Across this I've added a piece of Bazzill that has been cut with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One dies and topped it with a piece of ivory satin ribbon.  The peonies are from Power Poppy's Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips photopolymer stamp set and have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto 300gsm Watercolour Paper.  (See the Copic Oz Blog for colouring details!)  I've cut the peonies out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted it with a darker shade of Bazzill cut with Stately Circles Nestabilities.  I've then stamped the sentiment, also from Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips, in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Watercolour Paper.  I've cut it out with Labels 28 Nestabilities and heat set it with my heat gun, then lightly added a watercolour wash around the sentiment and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  To finish I've added a bow to the ribbon and a few pearls to the corner.

Choose Hope

Hello Everyone!  Today I've been inspired by pink - can you tell??  :)  I thought this 'Choose Hope' sentiment would work nicely with a happy stitched background and I also got to play with the new to me Romantic Rectangles Two dies - aren't they yummy!

I've created my base using firstly a panel of white and Romantic Rectangles Two.  Then I cut a piece of pink using the same die and glued the two together.  Next I've added a layer of Pistachio Pudding and a piece of white X-press It Blending Card.  I've stamped the Floral Stitched Background onto the blending card in Versamark and clear embossed, then coloured with Copics (RV00, RV52m RV55, G40, B0000) - make sure you have good light so you can see the embossing while you are colouring!  Around these layers I've attached a piece of white ribbon and topped with pink ribbon.  The sentiment is from Rose Bouquets Vintage Labels, stamped in black and cut with Vintage Filigree Layers Dies.  While still in the die, I've airbrushed it with Copic RV52.  Then I thought it needed just a little more and added 'stitched' lines around the edge with a 0.1 Black Mulitiliner.  To finish I've added a pink bow and pink Prima flower.

Stamps - Floral Stitched Background, Rose Bouquets Vintage Labels (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Pink, Pistachio Pudding
Ink - Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Vintage Filigree Layers Dies, White and Pink Ribbons, Bow Easy, Pink Prima Flower, Black Mulitiliner

That's all from me today - hope you're having a pinkalious day and that you're inspired to stamp!  :)

Bucket of Lavender

Hello Everyone!  It's been a while since my last post, a lot has happened at home; a death in the family, visitors, the funeral, Copic Certification, the Brisbane Papercraft Expo and my daughter's birthday.  I'm exhausted!  Today I finally ventured back into my craftroom and made a new card and picked this soothing bucket of Lavender which I thought was appropriate don't you think?  I had started colouring this image some time ago, but only today managed to finish it off.

I've used a base of purple bazzill and layered with white and another piece of purple cut with Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence.  Around this I've attached a piece of white ribbon.  The image is from Power Poppy's Lavender stamp set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (V12, V17, G40, G82, G85, C1, C3, C5, E93, E95, W1, W3, YG91, YG93, B0000).  I've cut this with Spellbinders Floral Ovals and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  Next I've stamped the sentiment from Lavender, cut it with Small Circle Nestabilities, airbrushed it with V22 Copic and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a white bow to the ribbon.

Stamps - Lavender (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Purple Bazzill, White
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence, Floral Ovals, Small Circle Nestabilities, White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It Foam Tape.

I was inspired by the vintage theme and created my card in soft vintage pinks and pale greens.  I've used a base of petalsoft bazzill and layered with white, Pear Pizazz and some FabScraps Shabilicious DP.  Next I stamped the Vintage Rose Frame Background in Victorian Velvet Distress ink and then airbrushed Copic RV91 over the top and fussy cut it with a pair of scissors.  Around these layers I've attached a piece of May Arts White Crochet Lace and some dusty pink ribbon.  I've stamped the background again, inking only the middle and airbrushing again - this time fussy cutting the middle panel out and popping it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  I've then stamped the rose frame from Rose Bouquets Vintage Labels Seven in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (RV91, RV95, RV99, G40, G82, G85).  I've then stamped the sentiment in the middle and cut it out with JustRite's Vintage Labels Three Dies, also popping it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a couple of pearl flourishes.

Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Petalsoft Bazzill, Pear Pizazz, White, FabScraps Shabbilicious DP
