QFTD11 He Delivered Me

Today I got to play this week's Queen for the Day challenge over at SCS.  This week the honour goes to my friend and ODBD sister, Grace!!!!  Congratulations Grace, I'm just thrilled for you!!!  :)  I have always ADORED her Do Not Be Anxious Card, so it was an easy choice for which one to case.  I changed the colour, the verse, left off the ribbon, charm and sewing.

I started with a base of Pink Pirouette and layered with silver card and some Kaisercraft Blushed DSP.  The next panel is more silver, more pirouette and white embossed with the Victoria EF.  The top panel is more silver, more pirouette (pierced) and then popped this layer up on foam tape.  The frame is from ODBD's Vine Borders and the verse is from the Scripture Series 1 set which will be available on June 1st from Our Daily Bread Designs!  I've stamped these in versamark and embossed with silver EP and finished off by adding some pink ZVA flowers to the corners.

Now I can tell you the dramas I've had.  Originally I had some Bella Rose DSP on the silver for the bottom layer.  Grace sewed around the edge of her's, so I thought I'd go the extra mile and get out my sewing machine.  My sewing machine is not my friend.  I started sewing - it locked up.  Groaning I get the card off the machine and it is a tangled MESS.  I spend time cleaning out the machine, pulling out threads and so on.  I test the machine.....it works fine.  Put the card back on and try and salvage the layer........another massive mess.  My base is ruined, so I try to cut the excess threads and start cleaning out the machine again ---- not looking closely enough, because I'm too busy looking at the machine, I slice my finger with the super sharp scissors.  Now not only is the card ruined with all the mangled threads, it's also covered in blood.  A band-aid, more time spend cleaning out my machine and as you can see, a change of BG and NO SEWING later.....I have a finished card!!!  SIGH!

Stamps - Scripture Series 1, Vine Borders (ODBD)
Paper - Pink Pirouette, Silver Card, White Card, Kaisercraft Blushed DSP
Ink - Versamark
Accessories - Silver EP, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Victoria EF, ZVA flowers, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!  :)

JRC_020 Fill Each Day With Joy

Today I'm playing along with the latest JustRite Challenge which is a sketch challenge and there is a fabulous prize to win......so grab those JustRite Stamps and get creating!!!

I used this flower image from JustRite's Plant a Little Love set that I coloured earlier in the week while making my very first tutorial for the CopicOz blog.  Since I'd already coloured them, I need to find papers to match and settled on Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl DSP.  :)  My base is Tangerine Tango, layered with black, white and then two pieces of Material Girl with a strip of more black and more white through the middle.  On one side of the white strip, I stamped the sentiment from JustRite's Joyful Hearts in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The feature panel is made of more Tangerine Tango cut with the Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Green bazzill cut with Large Circle Nestabilities, Black Bazzill cut with Small Circle Nestaibilities and finally the flowers (coloured with Copics YR02, YR07, R29, R59, YG03, YG63, YG67) popped up on foam tape.  To finish I coloured some Kasiercraft Clear Rhinestones with the YR07 Marker to match the flowers and added them to the bottom corner.

Stamps - Plant a Little Love, Joyful Hearts (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Tangerine Tango, Black, White, Green, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities (Lg), Large Circle and Small Circle Nestabilities, Kasiercraft Clear Rhinestones, Foam Tape.

MTSC75 Praying for You

Today I have a sneak peek of the brand new Our Daily Bread designs set called From Me To You!  Full of personal sentiments from one person to another and also this divine fuchsia stamp!!!!  It will be available from the 1st of June!  I've coloured them in the traditional pink and purple, but I discovered while googling that they come in all shades of pink, some even have cream and there is even one that I've found is cream and BLUE!  I've also used this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for the layout!  :)

I started my card with a Very Vanilla base and layered with black, some La Creme DSP and then added some satin ribbon across it.  Next I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and embossed with Gold Detail EP on black cardstock and cut it out with Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities.  Then I used a gold pen to go around the embossed line to give a bit of definition.  I stamped the fuchsias onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers (RV02, RV06, RV09, V12, V15, V17, YG03, YG63, YG67) and then cut them out using scissors and a scalpel and popped it up on foam tape over the corner of the nestabilities panel.  To finish I added a knot to the ribbon and some Kaisercraft Black Pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - From Me to You (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Very Vanilla, Black Bazzill, DCWV La Creme DSP

Directing Paths

Hello Everyone!!!  Before I went to Melbourne I coloured this bridge image from the new Our Daily Bread set called For The Graduate.  I had it all coloured (with Copics on X-press It Blending Card) and cut out (with Mega Curved Rectangles) and just didn't have time to make it into a card until I got home!  :)  Once home (and had access to my computer again!) I came across this week's The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge 55 and thought it would work well with this image.

I started with a base of white and layered with kraft and some Urban Garden DSP.  The rectangle panel is more kraft layered with Not Quite Navy and then across the bottom is a panel of white border punched with EK Success Dotted Wave and layered with yet more kraft and some white satin ribbon.  I popped up my bridge scene from For the Graduate that has been coloured with Copics (quite a few too and from memory, B00, B02, YG00, YG03, YG63, V15, B21, E29, E31, E33, E35, E37 and Blender).  To finish I added a small satin bow to the corner.

I used the verse, also from For the Graduate, to decorate the inside of the card, stamping it in Not Quite Navy and cutting it out with Petite Large Oval Nestabilities and matting with the matching scallop and matting with Kraft and Not Quite Navy card.

Stamps - For the Graduate (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Urban Garden DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Not Quite Navy

COPIC NEWS!!!

Hello Everyone!!!  I'm BACK!!!  Did you think I was gone for a long time for just Certification...... well you are right, the big secret I've been keeping is that while in Melbourne I spent the rest of my time with Marianne Walker and Lori Craig from Copic USA training to be one of the three Australian Copic Regional Certification Instructors!!!

Here we are with Jacqui and Jonny from X-press Graph-X (The Australian Distributors of Copic).  Jacqui and Jonny are just the loveliest people and we had an awesome week-end (and very busy!!) with them!
L-R: Jacqui, Debra James (Instructor West), Me (Instructor North-East), Mandi-Lee Klinger (Instructor South-East) and Jonny.

On Saturday we all attended the Melbourne Certification along with many lovely ladies.....
Certification is designed for store owners and wholesalers so most of these ladies have their own shops in the area.  Marianne and Lori both presented throughout the class and kept things fun and interesting!! :)  Marianne can be a little off-beat and even coloured HER HAIR with copics!!!!  LOL!!!!  Lori wasn't having a bar of that!!!  :)
I love this photo taken on the day of Certification with me, Lori, Marianne and Mandi!!!!  :)

I also love this pic of Marianne and me.....she'd just signed my official Certification Certificate and we were laughing at something - I think it shows off her personality really well!!  :)  {Hugs M}

And lastly is a photo of me and my new BFF Lori!!!  She is the sweetest person you'd ever come across and one day I'm going to go visit my pea-snapping friend on the prairie!!!  {Hugs Lori}

For a little info on things coming up.......Jonny, Mandi and I will be at the Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and Convention which is held over the Queen's Birthday long week-end; June 12 -14.  We will all be at the X-press It/Copic Stand 55 and Mandi is also conducting 2hr classes there in Classroom 3 from 2.30pm-4.30pm.  If you would like to attend you can book online HERE.  There are fabulous prizes available at the show including the big one - a pack of 36 Ciao Markers, Blending Card and Memento Ink Pad!!!  (The X-press It Blending Card is FANTASTIC and makes Copic colouring a breeze......just ask Marianne and Lori!!!)

We will also be at the Brisbane Copic Certification which is held the following day on June 15th, with the lovely Mandi-Lee running this class and I will be assisting.  If you are interested in attending Certification classes you can find out more about them HERE.

If you've managed to sit through all this - congratulations!!!  LOL!!!  I'm really excited about Copic in Australia and I can't wait for all the colouring fun that lies ahead!!!!

I'm still in Melbourne, so I've scheduled this post!  :)  I've made this card for my nephew's birthday this week.  I know it seems like I have all these nieces and nephews, but really, I only have three - it's just their birthdays are all within two weeks of each other!  I was aiming to make this with this week's SCS sketch challenge, but of course didn't have the sketch with me and mixed up the panels a bit!  Ooops!  I've used the JustRite April Release - Let's Celebrate - for the monkey centre and border and some brand new Kaisercraft DSP that I picked up the other day.  Don't you love that grass paper ---- it's FLOCKED!!!  Cool!!!!  :)

I started with a base of green bazzill, layered with white and some Kaisercraft Jungle Bug DSP.  The next panel is more white - punched on one side with the MS Embossed Zig Zag punch and topped with more Jungle Bug.  Next panel is more white and more Jungle Bug.  The Monkey centre and border are from JustRite's Let's Celebrate stamp set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics (E31, E33, E35, R20, Y11, Y21, YR23, 0) and I've added some Gold Spica to the stars.  It's been cut out with Square Nestabilities and matted with Pumpkin Pie cut with the matching scallop nestabilities and all popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added some Emerald Mini Sprinkles to the orange panel.

Every day holds...

Today I was inspired by this week's Card Patterns Sketch 62 and I thought it would be perfect for this new stamp from JustRite's Hope Set.  I decided to use soft, delicate colours and try my hand at a bit of vintage!  :)

I started with a base of Whirlpool Bazzill and layered with Very Vanilla (pierced) and some MME French Flea Market DSP.  In the middle I cut two scallop circles and offset them and pierced the scallops of the top circle.  Across the middle I attached a piece of ivory satin ribbon and some aqua grosgrain ribbon.  Next I took the border and centre from the JustRite April Release called Hope and stamped it twice in Versacolor Celadon and Close to Cocoa.  (I added some Clear Spica to the flowers in the border to give a little shimmer.)  One was cut with Square Nestabilities and matted with Scallop Square Nestabilites.  The other was cut with Circle Nestabilities and popped on top of the other and then the whole panel was popped up.  Next I made the three flowers using the Dahlia Nestabilities and Very Vanilla cardstock and also added a little Clear Spica to give some more shimmer.  To finish I used a Martha Stewart punch for the branches and the Doodle Parts Spellbinders for the flourishes under the flowers and some Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Hope (JustRite)
Paper - Whirlpool Bazzill, Very Vanilla, MME French Flea Market DSP
Ink - Versacolor (Celadon), Close to Cocoa

Today we are having a May Day Hop - in the Northern Hemisphere it is May Day and for many they remember making May Baskets, filling them with Spring flowers and leaving it on their neighbours doorstep as a surprise gift!  In honour of this tradition through the hop today, you have to find flowers at each designer's blog to fill our May Day Basket.  If you have come here from Becca's Blog you are in the right place - if not, go back at the ODBD Blog to start your journey!  :)

There will be three winners for this hop. Each winner will receive a $15.00 store credit toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread designs store!

Here is what you need to do to qualify to win:

1. Hop from blog to blog, leaving a comment and collecting the flower that designer is giving away.

2. Return to the ODBD blog and leave a comment that you completed the hop and left comments for each designer. If you were unable to leave a comment for any one, just state their name in this comment and you will still be entered into the drawing. This is meant to be fun, not stressful.

3. Send me an email at gnywening@yahoo.com giving me the names of the designers and the flowers you collected.

If for any reason you get lost along the way, just return to the ODBD Blog for the list of names.

Now, onto my card....

I used this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for the layout and this will also qualify for the Mad for Markers Challenge to make a Monochromatic Project.  I started with a base of black and layered with some Tangerine Tango and Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DSP.  Across the bottom third I've attached some So Saffron grosgrain ribbon.  This beautiful image is from the brand new As You Graduate set by Our Daily Bread designs and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics (Y21, YR23, YR16, C3, C1) to create a vivid sunset and I've also added a little atyou Gold Spica to the butterflies.  I stamped the butterflies twice, coloured them and popped a couple up for dimension.
I cut out the image and then framed it with the Mega Curved Rectangle die cut in black and popped the whole panel up on foam tape.  The sentiment is also from As You Graduate and I've added a little Copic E50 around the rim and softened it with a blender so that the sentiment panel was not so stark against the rest of the card.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Black Pearls to the top and bottom corners and I've added a bow made with my Bow Easy to the ribbon!

Stamps - As You Graduate (ODBD)
Paper - Black Bazzill, Tangerine Tango, X-press It Blending Card, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities, Petite Oval Large Nestabilities, Copics, Kaisercraft Black Pearls, So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon, Bow Easy, Foam Tape.

I hope you've enjoyed my project today and before you leave have some beautiful Gladiolas to put in your basket!!

Now head on over to see what fabulous eye candy GRACE has for you and enjoy the hop!!!  :)
