Happy Hellebores!

Hello Everyone!  It's Power Poppy Friday and there's still time to play along with this month's Power and Spark Challenge to make a card using your favourite Flowers - April Showers bring May Flowers after all!  With the huge range at Power Poppy there's floral pretties for everyone!  But hurry - you only have until 31st May and of course you have a chance to WIN your choice of stamp set!  I've been playing with Hellebores and paired it up with a sentiment from Simply Camellias!

I've used a pink base with the edge cut with A2 Bracket Borders One, topped with Kraft and some Tilda Apple Blossom DP both cut with the same die.  Around these layers I've added a piece of white ribbon.  I've printed the Hellebores Digi image onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics!  I've cut this with Large Oval Nestabilities and then stamped the sentiment from Simply Camellias and then matted with Kraft cut with A2 Divine Eloquence.  To finish I've added some Crystal Drops to the corners.

Stamps - Hellebores, Simply Camellias (Power Poppy)
Ink - Printer, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, Kraft, Tilda Apple Blossom DP
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, Large Oval Nestabilities, A2 Divine Eloquence, White Ribbon, Crystal Drops

Herd You Had A Birthday

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a fun card that I actually made from my FIL!  I had been looking at this super cute set called The Whole Herd for months and months, debating with myself - will I use it, do I *really* need it....and then I remembered what my mother told me......You can NEVER have too many stamps!!  So of course when I saw it in stock at The Scrapbook Store, I had to buy it!  Then I saw they had the fence die......and bought that too!!  LOL!!

So I've used a base of black and layered with Old Olive.  I then took a piece of white card, laid the Cow Print Stencil over the top and airbrushed it with Black Copic.  I then used the curved die from Rolling Hills Die-namics to cut the bottom.  Then I took the same die set to cut a piece of white to make the fence and glued it to the top.  I stamped the sentiment from The Whole Herd in Versafine Black across the bottom.  Then came the fun part - I stamped the cow from The Whole Herd several times and cut them out to make masks and set about creating my 'herd' scene.  I've stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured them with Copics (C3, C5, C7, R000, R00, R02, E40).  I've matted this with black and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  To finish I've added a little piercing across the bottom.

Stamps - The Whole Herd (MFT)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Black, White, Old Olive
Ink - Versafine Black, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Copic Airbrush System, MFT Rolling Hills Die-namics, MFT Cow Print Stencil, Paper Piercer, X-press It Foam Tape

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope today's card gave you a giggle and inspired you to stamp!  :)

Goodbye JustRite

Hello to all my blogging friends!  As many of you may have seen, JustRite Papercraft had a Design Team Call as the new owners felt it was time for a change.  Of course the old team were welcome to reapply, I like the rest of the team decided it was time to step down.  I joined JustRite back in June 2009, so it is sad to say goodbye especially to Kellie Fortin and Amy Tedder who have steered the team, been our friends and designed beautiful stamps through all those years.  We have been a tight knit group who have cared for and supported each other and these two have been so good to us and I will miss them dearly.  My dear fellow Design Team, it is hard to say goodbye and I will be miss them terribly too - 7yrs is a long time to work beside many of these girls and we have a dear friendship with each other and I know that we will keep in touch.  I also want to thank all the JustRite fans who have faithfully followed this blog over the years, your support and comments have always been valued and meant so much!  Even though I won't be designing for JustRite anymore, I will have more time to 'play' and maybe venture into trying new things and even doing a few tutorials?

As a farewell, I'm posting a card that I had published a while ago using JustRite's Hydrangea Vintage Labels Seven stamp set.  I tried a technique where I've stamped the image in white embossing powder on white card and then used Copic Inks and a Aquabrush filled with Colourless Blender ink to create a watercolour effect.  It's a fun and different way to use your Copic inks and you don't have to worry about damaging your nibs on the embossing powder - give it a go, you may become addicted!

I think it's apt to finish with this sentiment as I have been very thankful to Kellie, Amy, Heidi, Debbie, Michele, Angela, Eva, Darsie, Sheri, Marisa and Kristi as well as all those who I've worked beside at JR over the years.  Miss you girls!  <3

Stamps - Hydrangea Vintage Labels Seven (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Purple
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copic Inks, Aquabrush, Colourless Blender Solution, Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles, JustRite Vintage Sentiment Tag Die, Purple and White Ribbons

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and reading through to the end of this post and hope you have a creative day!

Seeds of Today

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a card using Power Poppy's brand new digi called Seeds of Today!  I just love how sweet and whimsical this is, not to mention.....I LOVE DAISIES!!!  I love white daisies so much I had them for my wedding!  I think it started when I was a little girl when I got a necklace with three white daisies in a row on it and I've loved them ever since.  :)  I also love blue and white so it really was a no brainer which direction this card was heading in!

I've used a base of Marina Mist and layered with white (pierced), more Marina Mist and then some Maja Designs DP called White Daisies (seriously how could I NOT use the paper called White Daisies?? LOL!).  Down the side is a strip of Marina Mist punched with Iron Gate Punch, layered with the reverse side of the DP and then I've added a bit more piercing.  I've printed out the Seeds of Today image onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YG01, G40, G43, G46, E21, E23, E25, E27, E93, E95, E97, E99, W1, Y13, Y17, C1, B0000, B000).  I've cut this with Small Circle Nestabilities, matted with Marina Mist cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and white cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities and then popped it up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.  To finish I've added white pearls to the corners.

Inside I've added a strip of DP and cut the other sentiment from the Seeds of Today digi set into a circle.  I really love how the quote from the main image matches up with the graduate sentiment!

Stamps - Seeds of Today (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Marina Mist, White, Maja Designs White Daisies DP
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Large Circle, Small Circle and Lacy Circle Nestabilities, White Pearls, Paper Piercer, X-press It High Tack Foam Tape

That's all from me today, hope you love this new set as much as I do and that you are inspired to stamp!!

From the Herd!

Hello Everyone!  It is birthday season in our family and today's card is going out to my nephew who has such a funny sense of humor and I thought he'd really like this farmyard greeting.  I laughed because we are a family of 5 so now there is debate on who is represented by which animal!  LOL!  Happy Birthday Joey, hope your day is full of FUN!!!

I've used a base of Marina Mist and layered with cream (pierced around the edge).  Next I cut a piece of Old Olive with the Rolling Hills Die and then used the same die set to cut the white fence.  I've glued this over a layer of Chocolate Chip.  Around this I've added a piece of blue gingham ribbon and knotted a piece of twine.  I've created masks for each of the animals from The Whole Herd and stamped and masked each of them in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I've stamped the sentiment across the bottom and then cut it out with Labels One Nestabilities and popped it up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.  To finish I've added a few buttons.

Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Marina Mist, Cream, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, White

Happy Birthday Heidi!

Hello Everyone!  I have another card using Well Played today - what can I say, it's just so perfect for young people!  This one is going out to my niece who is turning 12!  Happy Birthday Heidi - hope your day is AWESOME!!  :)

I started by stamping the backpack from Well Played in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and colouring it in her favourite colours - teals, pinks and yellows - which in Copic colours turns into - BG11, BG13, BG15, Y21, Y26, RV00, RV52, RV55, C1, C3.  It wasn't until after it was coloured up that I figured I should find paper to match - which comes from Kaisercraft's Cherry Blossom DP.  I've cut the image out with Labels 41 and matted with cream and Pool Party cut with Captivating Squares dies.  The sentiment comes from the Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher Digi set and has been printed and cut into a notched tag and secured with a button.  To add a bit of fun I've sprinkled a few sequins - I think she'll like that since she's a ballet girl!

Stamps - Well Played Clear Stamps, Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher Digi Stamps (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pool Party, Cream, Kaisercraft Cherry Blossom DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Printer

Peony Love!

Hello Everyone!!!  Digi Flowers are blooming over at Power Poppy today and it's in the form of PEONIES!!!  Say hello to Peony Love - a beautiful wreath of peonies PLUS a single accent peony PLUS two sentiments!  Well technically there is an extra sentiment too.  See that sentiment.....that one up there on my card?  Marcy has very kindly made a MUM and MOM sentiment so no matter which country you live in, you can make a special card for your mother - all you have to do is request the MUM sentiment and Marcy will send it along to you!  As an Aussie we say MUM, so I've used the alternate spelling.  Sorry Mum, if you are reading - your Mother's Day card was already in the mail by the time I had this one finished - I guess it's going to come your way another time!  LOVE YOU!!  :)

So.... I've used a white base and cut it with Radiant Rectangles, layered with Pink Pirouette cut with the same die set and some Maja Designs DP cut with the next die in the set.  I've printed out the wreath and 'Mum' sentiment from Peony Love onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (RV000, RV00, RV32, RV34, V000, V01, V12, V15, G40, G43, G46, E50, E51, E53, Y11).  I've cut this with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with Pink Pirouette cut with Stately Circles and popped it up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape.  To finish I've added some Crystal Drops in White to each of the corners.

Teens Rock

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a super quick card that I made for my teen son's friend.  I asked my son what colour I should do it in - teen boys can be tricky - and he said PURPLE!  Whaaaat??  A 14yr old boy likes purple!!  He's a nice kid though and a group of his mates got together for a night of gaming - they had a good time and his girlfriend didn't have to put up with all the male game nerding going on!  LOL!!  :)  Since these boys were all geared up for gaming with the laptops and headsets, I thought the headphones from Well Played would be a good choice.  I have to say I use this set A LOT - surprisingly a lot more than I thought I would as it is awesome for teens!

So I tried to make it as basic and not too over the top as possible without being too boring - I also got rid of some scrap pieces off my desk!  So I used a random piece of purple card off my desk and layered with black.  Next I found scraps of blue, dark blue and more purple and attached those.  I stamped the headphones from Power Poppy's Well Played stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (BV11, BV13, BV17, B12, B14, B16) and then fussy cut it out.  I've glued this to the front and then stamped the curly cord direct to the card front.  I've also used the decorative image (not sure what that's called - but they used to be printed symbol in the middle of records back in the day) stamped randomly across the front.  To finish I've stamped the sentiment from Small But Mighty Affirmations direct to the bottom corner.

It feels weird not to add any embellies - so, so plain - but thought I was being adventurous enough with the purple!!

Stamps - Well Played, Small But Mighty Affirmations (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Wisteria Wonder, Marina Mist, Soft Sky
Accessories - Copics, Scissors

That's all from me today, hope you are Rockin' this Day and also inspired to stamp!  :)
