Relaxing at the Beach

Hello Everyone!  My goodness it's been a long time since my last post!  Here in Australia, it's Summer, the kids are all on school holidays and to be honest, I've taken the time to kick back and relax while I can, not to mention enjoy Australia Day on January 26th.  The kids go back to school tomorrow and life will be back to its usual craziness.  :)

For those of you who missed it, I had a Copic Oz tutorial last Wednesday showing how I used the TIPS of my Copic markers to colour this wonderful image by Our Daily Bread Designs.  How perfect is this scene for our Summer (and of course Australia has some of the best beaches in the world!).  For my poor frozen Northern Hemisphere followers, I hope this scene is warming and reminds you that Summer will come for you soon.  For all the information on how I coloured this image, Copic numbers and technique, go to Copic Oz HERE!

For the actual card construction, I've used a base of folded white card and die cut using Resplendent Rectangles (over the fold).  Then I used the largest die (not both and therefore no holes) to cut a separate piece of aqua card and glued it over the folded base.  Then I used the two largest dies and cut another piece of white and glued it to the front - this shows the aqua through the holes.  Then I cut another piece of aqua using the smaller die, wrapped a couple of ribbons around it and glued that to the front.  The beach scene is from Our Daily Bread Designs called Happy Retirement and has been stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copics (see details HERE).  It's been die cut with Labels 29 and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a bow and button.

Stamps - Happy Retirement (ODBD)
Paper - Xpress It Blending Card, White, Aqua
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Labels 29 and Resplendent Rectangles, White Satin and Organdy Blue Ribbons, Bow Easy, Button, Twine, Xpress It Glue Marker, Xpress It Clear Gel Glue.

That's all from me for now, I hope to be back to regular scheduling soon!  :)

For my card I've used a base of Baked Brown Sugar and layered with vanilla and Kaisercraft DP. I've cut a piece of vanilla using Opulent Ovals Nestabilities and airbrushed the centre with E81 Copic.  The sentiment from Hello Daisy has been stamped in orange ink and cut with JustRite Papercraft Nested Oval Medallion Labels Dies and popped up on foam tape.  The butterfly from Butterfly Kisses  has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured with Copics (YR12, YR16, YR18, E23), fussy cut and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added Blush Pearls to the corners.

I've also mad a Journal using this set!  These smaller JustRite Papercraft sets with their larger images are perfect for Off The Page projects, Mixed Media or simply to be a full feature on the front of a card.
I've covered the Journal with some FabScraps Shabbylicious DP, then added a strip of vanilla card (punched with Deco Fan Punch) down one side and topped with Soft Sky, White and a piece of blue ribbon.  Underneath the side strip, I've added a piece of white cut with Grand Labels Four Nestabilities and lightly airbrushed with E51 and topped with a pearl flourish.  The sentiment has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut with JustRite Vintage Sentiment Tag Die and lightly airbrushed with Copic B21.  The Butterfly has been stamped in Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics using the Feathering Technique using B00, B12, B14, B16, BG10, BG11, BG15, YR24.  It's been fussy cut, popped up and then I've added a pearl flourish to finish.

JustRite Papercraft January Release - Day Two!

Hello Everyone and welcome back to Day Two of the JustRite Papercraft January 2014 Release!  Today the team are showcasing three new sets and I've got projects using two of them!!  The new sets for today are....Coffee Cup, Time For You and Rose Vintage Labels Seven.

http://justritepapercraft.com/collections/all-stamps/products/coffee-cup-cling-stamp

My first project is a Journal!  I've used some pretty FabScraps Shabbylicious DP and then added a piece of pink ribbon.  Next, I've used the small coffee beans image and stamped it all over a piece of white paper in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured it with Copics.  I decided with white was too harsh and toned it down by airbrushing E51 over it and then matted it with some kraft.  I've cut a piece of pink with Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25 Dies and attached as shown.  The Coffee Cup has been stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa, coloured with Copics (E50, E51, E53, RV000, RV32, RV34, G40, G43, G46) and fussy cut.  The sentiment is also from Coffee Cup, stamped in Rich Cocoa and cut with JustRite Papercraft Vintage Labels Five Dies.  I've popped the sentiment and cup up on foam tape and finished by added a few Latte Pearls to the corners.

My other project today is a card using Time For You!  This is a super quick card to make - all these new smaller JustRite stamp sets have larger images, which means less work in construction!  I've used a base of Chocolate Chip and layered with white, Soft Sky and some MME DP.  I've added a piece of vanilla grosgrain ribbon across the bottom.  Next I've used Spellbinders Sprightly Sprockets to cut several pieces of Baked Brown Sugar and layered as shown.  (It took me a while to finally get this die set....I really should have got it earlier because it is SO awesome!!!)  The watch is from Time For You and stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa, coloured with Copics (Y21, Y26, Y28, W1, W3), cut and glued as shown.

Now that I've whet your appetite with a sale, lets see what is new at JR!!  Today the team a showcasing new DIES - Vintage Labels 7 as well as stamps - Tufted Vintage Labels Seven Cling Background and Hello Daisy!  Now I just *LOVE* daisies, so I couldn't help myself and made several things with this yummy flower image.

For the card at the top of this post, I've used a base of Old Olive and layered with brown.  Next I've stamped the Tufted Vintage Labels Seven Background Stamp in Memento Bamboo Leaves onto Vanilla card then toned it down by airbrushing green copic over it.  Over this I've attached two pieces of ribbon.  I've used Vintage Labels Seven Dies to cut another piece of Vanilla and placed it over the middle and the ribbons.  Next I've stamped the daisy from Hello Daisy in Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured it with Copics (Y21, Y35, Y38, G40, G43, G46, G28, YR24, E37) and then fussy cut it, popping it up on foam tape.  Next I've stamped the sentiment also in Rich Cocoa and cut it out using the end of the smaller sentiment die from Vintage Labels Seven Dies, making it into a tag and then secured it to the ribbon with a bow.  I've finished by added LOTS of clear rhinestones to the background.
I loved this Hello Daisy set so much I made a journal and matching card!  This time I've coloured the daisies in red using Copics R32, R35, R37, R39, YR24, E37, G20, G21, G24, G28.  The Journal has been covered with MME Notable Cute DP then a piece of ribbon added to one side.  The daisy was stamped, coloured and fussy cut.....then I realised it would fit on the panel!  I've used Spellbinders 5x7 Detailed Scallops Die to cut some vanilla card, airbrushed a little R32 Copic and matted it with red card then glued the daisy to the front.  The name has been cut out with Spellbinders Font One - Uppercase (love this font set, now I need to buy the lowercase one to match!!)

The card started with a base of red and layered with vanilla and MME DP.  I've cut some vanilla card with Spellbinders Floral Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed the middle with R32 Copic.  The daisy has been stamped, cut and coloured as above, fussy cut and glued to the middle of the card.  I've finished by adding some Blush Pearls to the corners.
