Birthday Lilies

Today I got to play not one, but TWO challenges!  WOOHOO!!!  This card is for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge to create a celebration card - how easy is that??!! - and also for the Midnight Madness Challenge to use their sketch.  It's a bit hard to tell, but the sentiment is in the corner and says Happy Birthday.

I started with a base of Very Vanilla, layered with black and some Material Girl DP.  Next I paper pleated some Very Vanilla and stuck it down to the side and added some black ribbon over the top.  These beautiful Lilies are from the A Year In Flowers 2 set and have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR12, YR16, YR18, G24, G28).  I cut them out with Small Oval Nestabilities and sponged a little Antique Linen around them.  It was then matted with black cut with the Large Oval Nestabilities and some Tangerine Tango cut with Label 13.  I added some little black dots around the edge to kind of match the lilies and popped it up on some X-press It Foam Tape.  :)  To finish I added a black bow to the ribbon and the sentiment from Flourishes' Tag Lines set.

Stamps - A Year In Flowers 2, Tag Lines (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Black, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Label 13 Nestabilities, Black Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Scor Pal, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

MMSC48 Happy Mail

Today I was playing around with this image - cutesy little girls and I haven't really gotten along in the past, they always turned out awful!!  My friend Debra encouraged me to have another go a it using some Copics and the X-press It Blending Card, and what do you know, I'm actually quite happy with the way it turned out!  After I coloured it I wondered what I was going to do with it and thought it would work well for this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  I decided to use the easier sketch, but then of course couldn't help myself and added a big bow to the side!!!  LOL!!!

I started with a base of River Rock (who else is thrilled SU are bringing this back!!!) and layered with white (pierced around the border) and some retired Ginger Blossom DSP.  I then added two pieces of white satin ribbon for the cross panels.  The image is from Sugar Nellie called Postbox and I've stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-Press It Blending Card and coloured it with a lot of Copics.  (Top: R20, R22, R27, YG00; Pants: B93, B95, B97; Hair: Y21, YR23, E35, Garden: YG11, YG63, YG67, V000, V12, V15, V17, Y11, Y15; Letterbox: C1, C3, R22, R27, E31, E35, E37)  I cut the image with Label 1 Nestabilities and mounted on some River Rock and White (pierced again) and popped the whole panel up on foam tape.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corners and a white satin bow topped with a Paper Trey Lemon Tart Button.

Stamps - Postbox (Sugar Nellie)
Paper - River Rock, White, X-press It Blending Card, Ginger Blossom DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 1 Nestabilities, Copics, 1" White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Paper Trey Lemon Tart Button, Gold Cord, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Flourished Madness

Today I was inspired by two challenges - the Midnight Madness Challenge (sketch) and the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (to use black, yellow and one other colour - in my case, green).

I started with a base of yellow bazzill and layered with black and some Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue DP.  The next panel is more black layered with Old Olive - that I pierced around the edge using the Victoria Border Pierceabilities (I don't know if it shows up very well on the photo).  The main panel has been stamped using Flourishes' Sweet Peas stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with markers and a blender pen and cut out with Label 4 Nestabilities.  Around the embossed edge I drew a black line with a fine tipped marker and then popped the whole panel up on foam tape.  Finally I attached some gold cord as per the sketch and added the sentiment.  This sentiment is from the brand new JustRite set called Romantic Sentiments and was stamped in Old Olive and cut with Small Circle Nestabilities.

I've had these Sweet Peas since before Christmas and this is the first chance I've had to play with them!  I bought them through Stampers Dream and the customer service and shipping costs were fantastic!!!  As an Aussie, I will often look for places that have reasonable shipping costs and would highly recommend Stampers Dream to anyone, I was extremely impressed!!!

Stamps - Sweet Peas (Flourishes), Romantic Sentiments (JustRite)
Paper - Yellow and Black Bazzill, Old Olive, White, Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Old Olive
Accessories - Markers, Blender Pen, Victoria Border Pierceabilities, Label 4 and Small Circle Nestabilities, Gold Cord, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, please stop by tomorrow for the first ODBD challenge of the year!!!!  Thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Multi Challenge Card and the Last Peek!

I can't believe it is my last day blogging over at JustRite!! I hope you've enjoyed popping over and seeing my projects there - I've had a ball playing with the JR products!!! I also really appreciate the comments and support from everyone this week, here on my blog and all those over at JustRite - I've read all of them!!!

Today's project was lots of fun to make and I had fun with colour! I also got to play with the brand new release 'Friendship Set' which is shipping now!!! What are you waiting for?? Hop on over and check it out at JustRite!!!
Tonight I've also had a chance to sit down and play and decided to combine three challenges!!! (What was I thinking???) They are the --- Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge (to cut out and pop up) and the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge (to use buttons and bow/ribbon and a butterfly or fairy).

I started with a base of pale pink bazzill, layered with Mellow Moss and white (pierced) and some Madeline DSP. The next layer is white layered with Mellow Moss that has been stamped using the Amazing Grace Hymn (from Our Daily Bread Designs) in Mellow Moss. For the sketch there were meant to be 5 ribbon tags down the side, but I decided to cross them and make a stitching pattern there with some very fine white ric rak finishing with a button. The main panel has been cut out using the Label 4 dies and the dogwood flowers are from Grow in Grace by Our Daily Bread Designs. I've coloured them with markers and cut them out with scissors and a scalpel and popped them up. The verse is from the Grow in Grace set in Mellow Moss and cut it out using the Ribbon Tags Trio die set and attached with pale pink satin ribbon. Finally I added some Snow Kaisercraft pearls to the verse panel, added some Martha Stewart Butterflies with pearl bodies and a couple more pearls to the top corners of the Hymn panel.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!

RELEASE DAY and BLOG HOP!!!

It's the First of the Month, so that means it's ODBD Release Day and BLOG HOP!!!! If you've come here from Sandee's blog, you are in the right place!!! If you haven't, start back at the ODBD Blog......oh, did I mention --- there's BLOG CANDY and not just one, but THREE!!! WOOHOO!!!

Today there are 3 brand new sets and 2 singles available for sale --- and they are beautiful!!! They are Grow in Grace, Amazing Grace (single), Amazing Grace Hymn (single) which co-ordinate and Mother Teresa and Let Us Begin which also co-ordinate. To see the all the images of these sets go to Our Daily Bread Designs!

The Design Team were challenged by Judy to pick three of the ODBD stamp pads for today's release day. The surprise was we hadn't seen the stamp sets yet and they could have been ANYTHING and we have to use all three colours (black is allowed too)! I played it safe and chose Olive, Steel Blue and Sunflower. I'm really impressed with these dye ink pads.....and even better, they're only US$3.50!! Just to really challenge myself, I also used this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge!

And if that's not all......

July 1st marks the first day of our Guest Designer Contest! That’s right! YOU could be the next Guest Designer for ODBD! MMSC7 Graceful Peek

Today's card is a sneak peek of the soon to be released 'Grow in Grace' by Our Daily Bread Designs!! This beautiful set and two co-ordinating singles will be available for sale on July 1! I also used this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

I started with a base of white cardstock, layered with a mid pink bazzill, light pink bazzill and Basic Grey Porcelain DSP. The rectangular panel is mid pink that has been punched using the EK Success Wave Border Punch on each side. Layered on that is a piece of white that has been embossed with Swiss Dots EF. The Dogwood flowers are from 'Grow with Grace' and have been stamped twice in black and coloured with markers and a blender pen. Both stems were then cut out with scissors and a scalpal (for the small bits), popped on pop dots and put together to make a long strand. The verse is from the same set, stamped in black, cut out with Label 4 Nestabilities and embossed the edge. I glued it to some light pink and carefully hand cut the fine mat around it embellishing with another dogwood flower and a couple of leaves. Finished off with some wide white satin ribbon across the middle, a silver swirl clip with some thinner white satin and a few Snow Kaisercraft pearls.

Stamps - ODBD "Grow in Grace"

Paper - White, 2 shades pink bazzill, Basic Grey Porcelain DSP

Ink - Black

Accessories - Markers, blender pen, label 4 nestabilities, EK Success wave border punch, Swiss Dots EF, scissors, scalpal, white satin ribbon, silver swirl clip, snow Kaisercraft pearls
