Autumn is....

Hello Everyone!!  Today is another challenge by JustRite Stampers and this week it's being sponsored by Inchie Arts and is a Sketch Challenge!!!  I also had the opportunity to play with the brand new stamps by JustRite called A Day in the Country and they're CLING!!!  They come die cut in these cool storage boxes!!!  :)
I started with a base of Chocolate Chip and layered with Very Vanilla and then some Pyrus DP.  I made the horizontal panel into a ribbon panel, using some cream crochet ribbon and topped with some chocolate satin ribbon.  For the feature panel I used two different Inchie Arts squares which are solid core matteboard.  The 2" (or Twinchie) square is a pretty fawn colour and I've stamped four sets of leaves from A Day in the Country, coloured them with Copics (YR12, YR16, YR21, YR23, YR24, YG93, E21, E25) cut them out and added them as accents to the corners.  The sentiment panel is an Inchie + Square in cream and I've stamped the sentiment directly onto it in Memento Rich Cocoa.  These inchie products are great in that they give so much dimension to the project that you don't need foam tape!!!  I can't remember the last time I made a card with no foam tape!!  :)  To finish I added a few Chocolate pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - A Day in the Country (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey Pyrus DP
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Inchie Arts Twinchies and Inchie + Squares, Copics, Crochet Ribbon, Chocolate Satin Ribbon, Scissors, Chocolate Pearls.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

SC304 Understanding

Hello Everyone!!!  Well it's been a busy week for me, but I finally got the chance to play today and was inspired by this week's SCS Sketch Challenge!  What a fab layout to play with!!!  :)  I used ODBD's Pray set - so many I know are going through difficult times right now and I thought this sentiment was perfect for a card.

I started with a base of Old Olive and layered with white and some Basic Grey Capella DP.  The middle panel is more white punched on both sides with the MS Deco Fan punch (*sigh*, I just love this punch) and topped with some more Capella DP.  Across the middle I added some May Arts Olive ribbon.  The sentiment is from ODBD's Pray set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut with Large Oval Nestabilties and matted with Chocolate Chip cut with the matching scallop and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added a few Chocolate Pearls in each of the corners. I tried to keep it fairly flat since I'm planning on sending this one overseas.

Stamps - Pray (ODBD)
Paper - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, White, Basic Grey Capella DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Large Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Border Punch, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Colouring on Glass!

Hi Everyone!  It's Sunday afternoon here and I'm teaching the Brisbane Copic Certification Class tomorrow, when I thought......hmmmm....might be good to have a colouring on glass sample ---- so this is what I ended up with!!  I found this cute glass jar at a discount store a while ago and thought it would work well for this project.

I used the centre and border from JustRite's Stitched in Love set and stamped it carefully (be careful, stamps like to slide on glass!) with Brilliance Graphic Black ink and heat embossed it with CLEAR embossing powder.  (Don't use coloured EP - your copics don't like it!)  I actually had to be careful with the EP and blow a lot of it off and then used a fine tipped paintbrush to remove fiddly bits and then blasted it with my heat gun!  Now colouring on glass is very different to colouring on paper, obviously it doesn't absorb because it's non-porous.  I coloured with Copics (R89, R85, G28, YR18, Y38, C7).  Did you notice how DARK those colours are that I used, with Copics being translucent on a non-porous surface they look much paler on glass!  I finished by simply adding some ribbon around the top and finishing with a bow.  Three guesses what I'm going to store in this jar!!  ;-)

Stamps - Stitched with Love (JustRite)
Ink - Brilliance Graphic Black
Accessories - Copics, Clear EP, Ribbon, Bow Easy.

When Life Knocks...

Hello Everyone!!  Life is so busy at my place at the moment and to top it off, I jammed a finger which now looks like it's covered in purple ink!  If only it was ink, then it wouldn't hurt so much!!  :(  So today, I've gone with a much more CAS version ---- highly unusual for me I know!!!

I started with a white base and layered with Rich Razzleberry and then three panels of Garden Wall DSP.  Across the card I've attached some satin ribbon (I think it's some Perfect Pomegranate that I found deep in my stash!).  The sentiment is from ODBD's latest release called Pray.  It was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut with Mega Rectangle Nestabilities, pierced all around the edge and matted with more Razzleberry cut with the matching scallop die and popped it all up on foam tape.  I thought some matching pearls would be nice and you'd think with 150 Copics in your collection I'd be able to find a match wouldn't you.....but no!!  You know what that means.....I NEED MORE COPICS!!!  LOL!!!  Instead I had to settle for some white pearls in the corner.

Stamps - Pray (ODBD)
Paper - White, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Wall DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Mega Rectangles and Mega Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities, Satin Ribbon, White Pearls, Foam Tape.

Well, that's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!

Christmas Cardinal

Hello Everyone!!!  My goodness I've been busy lately - what about you??  I'm going to be teaching the Brisbane Copic Certification class on Monday and have been busy preparing all the things I'm going to take!!  I also have a tutorial on the CopicOz Blog today showing how to colour blue skies, I'd be really thrilled if you stopped by there!  I've used this cute Cardinal stamp for the tutorial using the airbrush and figured I may as well turn it into a card!!  :)  Today I was able to play along with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge!  YAY!!  I love Mercy's sketches and this one is a beauty!!

I actually started by stamping the Cardinal from JustRite's Backyard Birds set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and then airbrushed the sky with B000 and then coloured the rest of the image with Copics (E29, E33, E35, E37, G24, G28, R22, R24, R29, Y21, Y35, 0).  Next I was inspired by Mercy's Sketch to follow and created a base of Always Artichoke and layered with Very Vanilla.  The vanilla was embossed with the Snowflakes EF and lighted sponged with Antique Linen.  The next layer is some yummy Echo Park Merry Christmas paper.  On top of that is a piece of Riding Hood Red that I've punched across the bottom with the MS Loop punch.  The vertical panel is yet more of this beautiful Echo Park DP!  Now Mercy's sketch called for a square, but I'd already cut my Cardinal with a circle, so I've added a scallop layer and popped it up over a Label 1 Very Vanilla panel that I've embossed and run my E51 marker around the edge for a little definition!  Now I thought this needed some ribbon (and a bow!!  LOL!!!) and I dug out of my stash this luscious ruffled suede ribbon that I got at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  I thought it need a little extra, so after much rummaging, I found some red gingham - but it was red and white and I needed cream.......soooooo, I coloured it with a bit of E51 Copic and toned all that white down!!  :)  Perfect!!  Finished off with a bow and added a few pearls to the top corners!  :)

Stamps - Backyard Birds (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Echo Park Merry Christmas DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Label 1, Large Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Loop Punch, Ruffled Suede Ribbon, Red Gingham Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kasiercraft Latte Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with Really Rust and some of this beautiful Kaisercraft Devonshire Collection DP.  Across the bottom I added more vanilla (punched on one side with the MS Iron Gate border punch (looooooove this punch!) and topped with more Devonshire and them some ivory satin ribbon.  Next I stamped the fence image from Missing You in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  (There were so many and I forgot to write them all down, sorry!)  I cut it out with Large Rectangle Nestabilities and matted with Really Rust cut with the matching scallop and popped it up on foam tape.  Next I stamped the sentiment onto some vanilla and notched the tag and adhering under a big satin bow and finally added some Chino pearls to the corners.

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with Pumpkin Pie and some Basic Grey Pyrus DP.  The vertical panel is more Pumpkin layered with some more Pyrus.  The horizontal panel is yet more pumpkin, punched with the EK Success Embossed Curve punch and topped with some mesh.  Over the top is some dark brown stitched grosgrain ribbon.  The Scarecrow is from the new Hangin' Around Cling set by JustRite and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (B000, B91, B95, B97, G12, G21, G24, G28, E31, E33, E35, E37, E51, E53, R02, R22, R27, YR00, YR12, YR16, YR18, C3, C5, C7).

Then to add some texture and a bit of POP, I've added some Autumn Flower Soft to the ground and some new Ultra Fine Toffee Flower Soft to parts of the Scarecrow for his straw!  I have to say I was impressed out how fine the Ultra Fine Flower Soft is and that it doesn't overpower the image!!  To finish I added a grosgrain bow to the ribbon and topped with a maple leaf from the Nested Maple Leaf Nestabilities and coloured it with Copics YG00, YR00, YR12, YR16 and also added a couple of Chino pearls to the corner.

CCEE1041 A Hint of Wood

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card is for this week's CCEE Challenge to use Wood on your card!  Well this was perfect timing for me since this month ODBD released this Wood Background stamp!  :)

I started with a base of Chocolate Chip and layered with River Rock and some Basic Grey Pyrus DP.  The Label 8 panel is the Wood Background stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa onto white and then I decided it really should have been cream or aged - so I airbrushed it with a E55 marker!  :)  Across the bottom I've added some olive ribbon and popped up the oval panel.  The sentiment is from ODBD's Randi's Song has has been stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves.  I used more olive ribbon to make a bow for the top and wrapped the ties around the back of the card and then topped with the leaf.  The leaf is also from Randi's Song and has been stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and airbrushed with E13, YR21 and YG93 to give an Autumn feel.

Today I decided to go a little bit vintage using JustRite's new Vintage Christmas set!  I've actually been enjoying making Christmas cards that aren't all red and green and was inspired by this totally yummy new paper by Echo Park's Merry Christmas collection called Happy Holidays.

I started with a base of Chocolate Chip and layered with Very Vanilla and two pieces of Echo Park Happy Holidays DP.  The top panel I cut into three pieces and then across the join I've used some red taffeta ribbon from my stash (sadly this is the last of it - it's by Vandoros if anyone is lucky enough to find some more!).  I stamped the Santa centre and border from Vintage Christmas in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured the Santa with Copics (R32, R35, R37, E000, E01, B21, C1, C3).  It was cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and then sponged some Antique Linen ink around the Santa using the Jumbo Dauber.  (If you haven't heard me say it before - I LOVE this Dauber!!!!  Much, much better than the little ones!!!)  Next I coloured the stars in Sand Spica (this was a nice toned down colour to match the colours of the paper!) and then added a touch of Clear Spica to Santa's glasses.  I matted the image with Chocolate Chip cut with the matching Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I added a red bow with the last of my ribbon and added a few Kaisercraft Chino Pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Vintage Christmas (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Echo Park Merry Christmas DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Antique Linen
Accessories - Copics, Large Circle and Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bow Easy, Sand and Clear Spica Pens, Jumbo Dauber, Kaisercraft Chino Pearls, Foam Tape.

Baby Girl!

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card is one I whipped up for a baby girl!  I just love this sweet baby basket that can be coloured pink or blue - or even green or yellow to make a darling baby card.  This card is also for the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge to use pink, white and brown!  :)

I started with a base of white, layered with pink bazzill and topped with more white embossed with the Swiss Dots EF.  Next I added a pink circle and topped with white cut with the Lattice Pendant Shapeabilities.  Through the pendant I added a white pink satin ribbon.  The basket is from Baby Love by Flourishes and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV10, RV21, RV13, E31, E33, E35) and then cut out and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added a pink satin bow to the ribbon and some Kaisercraft Rose Pearls to the corners.

God Understands

Hello Everyone!  For today's card I decided to go with soothing creams and aquas and I thought this sentiment from ODBD's new set called Pray, would be perfect to go with these soft tones.  I also thought this would be a great sentiment for someone who is going through a difficult time when we don't know what to say to make things better - sometimes just a handmade card saying I'm praying for you is enough to lift their spirits.  This is also for this week's Featured Stamper Challenge - I'm basing it on jenndspencer's CAS86 card - changing the colours and theme, slightly modifying the layout.

I started this with a base of aqua bazzill and layered with Very Vanilla punched with the MS Floral Vine border punch (care of my BFF Edna!), and then a layer of this gorgeous MME DP.  Across the bottom I added some ivory crochet lace.  Over the crochet I added the Label 10 die cut (vanilla sponged with Antique Linen ink) and than added the ivory satin ribbon over the top.  The sentiment is from 'Pray' and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with Large Oval Nestabilities and sponged with Antique Linen and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added a double ivory satin bow to the ribbon and a couple of Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the corner.

Stamps - Pray (ODBD)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Aqua Bazzill, MME DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 10 and Large Oval Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Floral Vine Border Punch, Ivory Crochet Lace, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Foam Tape.

Bring Back Beautiful Gift Packaging!

Hello Everyone and welcome to another Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!!!  As we get closer to the season of giving, let’s take the wraps off your creativity to come up with beautiful ways to gift give. Do you have a fun template for a beautiful box? Or, do you have a beautiful presentation for gift cards? Show us what you’ve got! Link up your Bringing Back Beautiful Challenge project HERE to enter. As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!
Today I've decided to use a template that I got from My Time Made Easy called a Trendy Tool Tote!  I had this idea to make the front into a garden using the pansies from A Year in Flowers 1 and a 'fence'.  I followed the instructions to create the tote out of yellow bazzill and then made the decorative panels out of light green bazzill, embossing three of them with Argyle EF.  The fourth I left plain so it would become my garden background.
I stamped the pansies from A Year in Flowers 1 three times in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YG13, YG17, YG67, V01, V12, V15, V17, Y15) and then VERY carefully cut them out.  I used my BFF's (Edna15) MS Lattice Border Punch to create my white fence and then popped up the pansies over the top.  I then added some white satin ribbon to the handle, added a bow, button and tag.  The tag was stamped with 'Best Wishes' from the Fanciful Flourishes set and then I stamped the two step butterfly from the same set in purple and overlaid the flourish part in black.  I cut the butterfly out and popped it up on foam tape.

Soooooo.....what sort of gift could you put in here??  Well it's big enough to put an assortment of things, but I thought it was perfect for COPICS!!!  :)  LOL!!!!

Stamps - A Year in Flowers 1, Fanciful Flourishes (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Yellow and Green Bazzill
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Heliotrope Versacolor
