Count Your Blessings

Hello Everyone and welcome to the December Hop for Our Daily Bread Designs!!  If you have come from Julie's Blog then you are in the right place!!!  If not, you may want to start back at the ODBD Blog so that you won't miss any of the beautiful creations along the way!!  :)  If any links are broken, you can find the full list on the ODBD Blog.

The Hop will run from 8am USA EST on Dec 1 until 8pm USA EST December 2nd!  The Hop will run Dec. 1 and 2. Post or schedule your post for 8am Eastern. The hop will end 8pm Est. Dec. 2.   There will be 4 prizes. Kelley has very generously offered to give Three prizes of Choice of One set and, and One GRAND PRIZE of the December Bread Basket Bundle!!!!  The winner will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Dec. 3.

So how do you win one of these fabulous prizes?  Simply leave a comment on each blog and then leave a comment on the ODBD Blog saying that you've commented (if you haven't been able to leave a comment on a particular blog, just let us know which one) and then answer the question that is waiting for you there!  Winners will be randomly selected from the ODBD Blog.

I'm sure by now you've noticed that the new Christmas Ornaments set is being used with the new 2010 Heirloom Ornaments Spellbinders......Our Daily Bread designs is so proud and pleased to be chosen by the Spellbinders company as a Preferred Stamp Partner.  Our partnership with Spellbinders will be a blessing to the stamping community as well, as we expand our line to include perfect match sentiments, Scriptures and images to Spellbinders products.  We look forward to a long and blessed partnership with such a fine product as Spellbinders.

Today I chose to showcase the new Blessings stamp set by ODBD!  The one I chose reminded me when I was a teenager and even in my 20's when life got hard, my Mum would say to me...'Count Your Blessings and put me near the top; I love you.'  So I guess this card is dedicated to my wonderful Mother!  :)

I started with a base of pale pink, layered with white, darker pink and some Memory Box Gossamer DP.  The next panel is more dark pink layered with white that's been embossed with Victoria EF.  Next I cut some dark pink with the Lacey Circles Nestabilites and glued it into place and then attached a pink satin ribbon over the top.  I stamped the sentiment from Blessings in Memento Tuxedo Black onto white and cut it out with Large Circle Nestabilities and attached it over the top of the ribbon and Lacey Circles panel.  Next I took some ZVA flowers and glued them and some branches (cut with the MS Branch punch) below the sentiment and at the top of the embossed panel.  To finish I added a pink bow made with my Bow Easy and a few white pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - Blessings (ODBD)
Paper - Pale and Dark Pink Bazzill, White, Memory Box Gossamer DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Large Circle and Lacey Circle Nestabilities, ZVA Roses, Martha Stewart Branch Punch, Victoria Embossing Folder, Pink Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls.

From here, your next stop is the darling Debi and just wait until you see the beautiful card she has for you!!!  :)

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the Hop!!!  :)

Beautiful project. My greatest Christmas Memory is the first Christmas without my Mother. I was only 6 years old. With Mom dying in November and Christmas being the next month, sure we were sad, but my Dad, being the father that he was, did all he could do to make sure his 4 girls were happy. We didn't have a lot of money, but that's not what Christmas is all about. All we wanted for Christmas was the doll house fully furnished, that we saw in the Sears Catalog and Only the doll house and we had to share it, but my sisters and I to this day (now 50 years ago) remember how special that Christmas was.

Beautifull designs.
My favourite Christmas memory ...difficult question as many to choose from. One favourite, my Dad set up the card table in front of our beautifully decorated Christmas tree, and we had homemade meat pie followed by Christmas pudding or cookies (cookies were my choice as I don't like pudding). After, we would head off to church for the service where many Christmas hymns were sung -- my favourite, Silent Night.

Kathy, First, congratulations on your time with ODBD! I will definitely miss your contributions -- today's card is a perfect example -- I love the pinks you brought out, the whole thing reminds me of the blessings of springtime and the blooming of the cherry blossoms here in Washington, D.C.! I will definitely be "borrowing" this design! You really show the versatility of the stamp sets, my limited imagination would have gone with Thanksgiving! :)

Traci S. said...

Kathy this is breathtaking! I love the stamped sentiment. I try to count my blessings often...well, list them, especially if I am in an unhappy mood, or not really feeling connected to the Father.

I really love your choice of dp and colors. They remind me of cherry blossoms. I love that flower! The pearls and the flowers and leaves that you added are so pretty. I LOVE the white embossed space you left ont he card. Your mother is already very proud of you, I am sure. This will be the icing on the cake!
