You Inspire Me To Believe

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card is a special request from a friend of mine.  Her daughter, Sarah, has been selected to represent Australia at the World Junior Rowing Championships in London and wanted a card to give to her coach who will be spending time overseas for some time after this meet.  Most cardmakers would agree that masculine cards are tough.....try masculine ROWING cards!!!  LOL!!!  My friend liked the idea of the globe because it shows both Australia and England and the sentiment from You Are My Anchor is perfect for this occasion.  Then came the rowing element......do you have any idea how difficult rowing stamps are to find???  Well I couldn't find any, so my friend sent me a picture of the oars and I drew these and cut them out (and kept the template!!!).

The base is made of blue, white and green bazzill and then some Kaisercraft Pack Your Bags DP.  Next is a piece of white (punched with dotted wave punch) and topped with more Pack Your Bags DP.  Across this I added some dark brown grosgrain ribbon and topped it with a Sailor's Knot made of twine.  The globe, sentiment and rope border from You Are My Anchor were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (E21, YG93, B21, B23, E31, E35, 0).  The globe was cut with scissors and popped up on the rope border.  The sentiment cut with Small Circle Nestabilites and popped up on the oars.  The oars were drawn with a 0.3 Multiliner, coloured with Copics (C3, BG75, Y17) as per the picture - the stripes are the Aussie colours that are actually on the real oars!  I've finished off with a couple of silver brads in the corners.

Stamps - You Are My Anchor (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Blue, White, Green Bazzill, Kaisercraft Pack Your Bags DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Multiliner, Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Dotted Wave Border Punch, Brown Grosgrain Ribbon, Twine, Silver Brads, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

that is a great card. Love the oars you made. That stamp set is calling out to me - I've seen you use it so well and it's hard to find a masculine set.

How incredibly perfect! The oars are quite the work of art. I don't know how you could have made a more appropriate card for its purpose. This is awesome!

I agree, how amazing to find a stamp set that has two images and a sentiment that so perfectly encompass (ha ha) all the details of a celebration. And are put together so well.
