Hazel and Ruby Canvas Hop
Hello Everyone!! Today the Copic Oz, Xpress It and Inspiration Lane designers have teamed up to have a fun and fabulous Blog Hop! Each of us have been given various products to create a Hazel and Ruby canvas that represents us - I don't know about you, but I know I can't wait to see what everyone has created today! Not only are there some really fun projects using some of our favourite products - the best part is that you have over ten opportunities to win!
So, what did I make??? I was sent a canvas, some Hazel and Ruby Stencil Masks and some Hazel and Ruby Washi Tape.
I found several scraps of paper and arranged them on the canvas, then added some X-press It Triple Tac to attach the paper to the canvas and then added another layer over the top.
Then I've added the Hazel and Ruby Stencil-Masks from Everyday Shapes and Brooklyn Alpha where I wanted them on the canvas. I've also added pieces of Hazel and Ruby Washi Tape at various locations on the canvas.
Then I've toned down the paper by adding some Gesso.
I've used my Copic Airbrush System and a variety of Copic Markers to add colour in both blocks of colour and over stencils for a bit of interest.
Then I've added some texture paste through a stencil.
I've continued to add more colour and airbrushing as well as a little stamping around the edges.
Then I removed my masks - don't forget these are reuseable, so make sure you put them back on the Hazel and Ruby sheet for your next project!
And then I've added some outlining and glued some buttons and a piece of coloured corrugated cardboard using X-press It Power Tac.
Then I thought the flowers could use a little extra 'something', so I've added some dots of Molotow Paint Pen around them.
I thought I was done, but then decided the flowers needed a little picket fence to peek out from behind!
So how does this express me? For a start, Blue is my favourite colour and I particularly love blue gingham. Secondly I love daisies - in fact I had them for my wedding! There are 3 flowers that represent my three beautiful kids and how I'm watching them grow, for now they are in primary school....next year my eldest is off to high school! And lastly, I'm inspired every day by flowers, colours, shapes and textures to CREATE!
Now that I've told you a little about ME......we want to know what inspires you! Leave a comment on this post and you could win an fabulous bundle of goodies like this one. Make sure you hop over to the other blogs and the Inspiration Lane Facebook page where you could win even MORE prizes, valued at over $500!!

All things you Kathy, well done!
My 3 boys are a little crazy with the things they say and do they are my biggest inspiration
This is gorgeous, I love the colour scheme. The colours and textures of nature really inspire me.
Beautiful canvas Kathy, I love the layout and the pretty blue flowers. I get my inspiration from nature (beautiful colours and shapes in different seasons) and my Husband's photo's. And also of course from people's projects like yourself. There are so many talented people out there.
What inspires me is all the wonderful creations people post on the web and facebook.
Looky at you! This is wonderful :) Love the polka dotted words.
Hi Kathy, There's nothing I love more than scenery creations and yours is so beautiful!
I get so inspired by everything hehe, I think my mind is constantly looking for inspiration and since I discovered Copics years ago, I am always looking at people's hair and clothing for shading/colouring ideas. I love challenge blogs and looking at the DT creations and challenge winners' cards for creative new ideas. I love card magazines, all my craft goodies give me ideas too. Told you I was inspired by everything hehe. XOX Lucy

WOW - FABULOUS canvas Kathy!!!
The colours, textures & layers are amazing, all the more so for learning about each step, product & technique you used to create it => I AM INSPIRED because there is SO MUCH I NEED to try for myself.
Blog Hops like today are part of my cyber inspiration, I like to visit blogs for inspiration and techniques.
Every day I'm inspired by the colours, patterns, shapes and textures of nature.
A crafty challenge is always good to push my limits too!!!
AND I find it exciting to experiment with different products and techniques too, especially when magic happens before my eyes, like what happened as you created the layers of your canvas today :)
THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION and for the chance to win some CRAFTY AWESOMENESS :)

This is gorgeous Kathy! I love all the little pieces and how they come together and how wonderful to read how it all relates to you :-) Beautiful!

It's gorgeous, I love how you have used the tape :)
Right now I am being heavily influenced by Mary Doodles and Emily Wayne Illustration. I am trained as a graphic designer but all I want to do now is draw pictures. I am adding to my marker set bit by bit but OMG I would SOOOOOO give all these the best home ever! I've started a new Facebook page Doodeloly www.facebook.com/doodeloly so all my friends and family can keep up with my Daily Doodle project. I am doing at least one doodle a day Practice makes perfect right?
Wow! Just love it!
I'm inspired by nature. It's very refreshing to be outdoors and just enjoy those simple things in life.

I love looking at great card designers on you tube and card magazines. Now that i have entered blog land and design teams, all the other very talented crafters out there constantly inspire me to do better every time I create a card.
Love your canvas and all the bits you pulled together to make it you ;)
Kathy, the Copic Airbrushing over stencils and masks looks amazing on your project. I get the feeling that this project was a little out of your comfort zone, but rest assured that you've done a wonderful job and nailed it beautifully. I've added the white pen to my ever growing list of 'Must Have'.
I get my inspiration from viewing and reading about creative projects and this hop has me overflowing.
Thanks for sharing your talents. =)
I'm inspired by great colour combinations - which I find all around me; in nature, on the internet, other people's craft, and more recently in museums while travelling overseas. I was so inspired by colour and pattern, particularly in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London; I came home with lots of ideas to create!
I LOVE washi, and stencils, and pens, and just about everything. It's all quite inspiring.
