Nov Colour Combo

Hello Everyone!!  Today the Divinity Designs Divas have another colour combo challenge - this time using Light Teal, Rose and Gold - the colours from the Christmas Collection 2014 paper pad.

https://divinitydesignsllc.com/christmas-collection-2014-6x6-paper-pad/

I've decided to use these adorable Mini Coffee Cups and create the Mini Coffee Cup Wrapper and Layer using the Christmas Collection 2014 paper for both the wrapper and layer.  I've then cut a gold layer using Fancy Circles, a white layer cut with Pierced Circles (and airbrushed with R83 Copic), topped with a snowflake from Christmas Dove Dies cut out of the Christmas Collection 2014 paper.  I've used a different snowflake and paper from the same sets and glued them to the paddle pop stick.  It's a super cute and fun project to make for a sweet gift idea!

Ink - NONE
Paper - Divinity Designs Christmas Collection 2014, Gold, White

Berenice's Journal

Hello Everyone!  For years I have made journals as end of year teacher gifts and today I have a new one for you.  This one is for an extra special teacher!  For five years Ms Furlong has been the year level co-ordinator for my son's grade and this week as the cohort celebrated their graduation - the overwhelming love for this amazing woman echoed around the auditorium.  The school captain spoke a wonderful tribute and there was a standing ovation and I just don't think I could do it justice, but she has been a Mum, a Friend, a Teacher, Family, and such a huge part in the lives and development of these young people and everyone - including us - absolutely ADORE her.  For our very first year at High School four years ago, I made a small notebook with just a "B" on it - imagine my shock when I gave her a new journal - and she told me she STILL has it because it was too pretty to use!  You can find that notebook HERE!

So as a little thank you for all the years of love and support she has shown, I thought I would make her a journal.  As you can see, her name is not one you would normally find on any store bought gifts, so I thought I would make sure her name featured!

I've taken a Spirax Notebook, cut a piece of Maja Designs paper to size and then punched the edge with a spiral border punch and then glued it down.  I've die cut some pink card with 5x7 Elegant Labels Four and glued it into place. Next I took the reverse of the same paper (including the edge) and cut it to size to allow for the letters and matted with pink card trimmed with a lace border punch.  I've cut the letters of her name using pink card and Long and Lean Letters Dies and glued then into place.  When the Abundant Petals stamps came out, I have been fiddling around stamping them before my dies had arrived and I found this image in a pile of uncoloured images and thought it would be perfect for the journal cover colouring it with Copics and coloured pencils.  I then decided to fussy cut it - so in hindsight it would have been better to just stamp the images again and use the matching dies, but there you go...  To finish I've accented with a couple of pearl flourishes and accented with a few tiny pearls as well.

Stamps - Abundant Petals (Power Poppy)
Ink - Black
Paper - Maja Designs, Pink, X-press It Blending Card
Accessories - Copics, Prismacolor Pencils, Divinity Designs Long and Lean Letters Dies, Fiskars Border Punch, Stampin' Up Spiral Border Punch, Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels Four Dies, Pearl Flourishes, Kaisercraft Pearls, X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape, X-press It Foam Tape, X-press It Clear Gel Glue (for covering the inside)

Thanks so much for visiting me today, I hope you've enjoyed my project and that you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Graduation......and Christmas!

Hello Everyone!!  Oh my goodness - today is a big day in the Jones household!  Our eldest child, Zac, graduates from High School!  All over Australia, the Grade 12 cohort completed their last day of High School and venturing off onto the next stage of their lives.  I am so proud, so happy and totally crying all at the same time!!

So with that theme in my head, I decided to make a Graduation card using the new Four Panel Card with Layers to cut the black base and then used the laying dies to cut the Menswear Material Paper.
I decided to add a little extra layering and measured and cut extra gold and blue layers around the patterned paper.  I've then used gold card and the Grad Dies, Large Numbers Dies and Sparkling Stars dies to cut all the accent pieces.  I've stamped three sentiments from Dream Big Stamps to embellish the inside and belly band.  'The Congratulations' was cut with Pennant Flags and the 'Proud of You' cut with Pierced Circles.  I've also used the Pennant Flags to cut an extra blue flag.  The Grad Cap is cut with black and gold using the Grad Dies and I've layered it and the stars on a panel of white cut with Pierced Ovals.  Finally I've used the Belly Band Dies to cut the black base and blue layers, used  Circles Dies to cut the sentiment and matted that with black cut with Pierced Circles and framed with a gold star.

Stamps - Dream Big (Divinity Designs)
Ink - Black
Paper - DD Menswear Material Paper Pad, Blue, White, Gold, Black
Accessories - DD Dies: Four Panel Card with Layers, Sparkling Stars, Circles, Pierced Circles, Belly Band, Pierced Ovals, Large Numbers and Pennant Flags; Glue

For my second project, I've created a Christmas card, because that is surely coming up fast!

I've used white card cut with Center Step with Layers and cut the layers using Christmas Collection 2019.  I wanted to use the 'O Holy Night' sentiment with lots of stars and imagined them hanging, so I've cut lots of stars using silver glitter card and Sparkling Stars Dies.  I've stamped the sentiment from Silent Night Stamps and die cut it with Ovals and matted with glitter card cut with Pierced Ovals. I've 'hung' most of the stars with silver cord and the larger ones I've popped up on foam tape.

Stamps - Silent Night (Divinity Designs)
Ink - Black
Paper - DD Christmas Collection 2019,  White, Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories - DD Dies: Center Step with Layers, Sparkling Stars, Ovals, Pierced Ovals; Silver Cord, X-press It Foam Tape

You can check out all the latest from the design team over on the Divinity Designs Blog!  Thanks for popping by, have an awesome day and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Happy 50th!

It's a big week in the Jones house and it began with my hubby's 50th Birthday!  Well such a big milestone deserves a big blingy card, just in case he forgot which milestone it is!!  LOL!!

I've used the Center Step and Layers dies to cut the cream card base and the Maja Designs paper (front and back) for the layers.  I've then used the Large Numbers and Happy Birthday Script dies to cut gold card and glued the diecuts into place and finished by cutting some brown cut with Sparkling Stars for a little accenting on the side.

Stamps - NONE
Ink - NONE
Paper - Cream, Gold, Brown, Maja Designs
Accessories - DD Dies: Center Step and Layers, Large Numbers, Happy Birthday Script, Sparkling Stars; Glue

Let the Fun Begin!

Hello Everyone!!!  Oh boy, do I have some fun things to show you this month!!  Divinity Designs have some A-MAZ-ING dies that you will love!!!  Today I've been using lots of new products and I have to say I am totally addicted already, so hang on because I've got LOTS to show you!  :)

My first project is a Milk Carton Holder and Milk Cartons!  OMGOSH how CUTE are these!!!  So I found some blue bazzill to create my holder and followed the instructions inside the packaging to put it together using Christmas Collection 2019 paper for the layers.  Heads Up - to make sure the handle layer matches the base card would be easier with a magnetic plate.  I've always thought - who needs a magnetic plate? - so I don't own one and have changed my mind on its value.  Doesn't mean you can't do this without it - hey I managed!  :)  Line it all up using the instructions, but to keep the dies in place I've used several pieces of removable tape and it worked just fine!  Also - you will need a larger sized die machine for the width of this die!  Then I got cracking on the milk cartons, cutting them out of white card and layering with the Christmas Collection 2019 paper.  (You can get all the layers out of one 6x6 piece of paper!). Once I've glued those down, I've embellished with stars cut using Sparkling Stars dies and a mix of silver and white card.  I've also cut the 'Christmas' out of silver card using Christmas Greetings dies.  Finally I've cut the tag using Treat Tags Dies and secured the tops of the cartons with mini white pegs!

Ink: NONE
Paper:  DD Christmas 2019, Blue, White, Silver Glitter
Custom Dies:  DD Dies: Milk Carton Holder, Milk Carton with Layers, Sparkling Stars, Treat Tags, Christmas Greetings; X-press It Foam Tape, Glue, White Mini Pegs

My second project is a Four Fold Card!!  I loved the finished effect, even if it was a little tricky to photograph!  The sentiment is actually ONE LARGE sentiment (see below), that I *carefully* inked and stamped in versamark ink and then embossed in silver detail embossing powder over three separate pages.  The silver is actually light and shimmery but it is so hard to photograph!  Also, a heads up on this Four Fold Die set - you will need to have the facility to cut LONG dies as this die is about 12inches long.

So I've started this project cutting a piece of white card using the largest Four Fold Card Die.  (You should use 12inch paper for it to fit, but Aussies, if you are using our standard A4 Cardstock which is about 11 3/4inches, the flap at the end will cut a little short, but you can still get away with using it as the layering paper will cover that it's short.)  I've also cut the front panel out of white and then used the layering dies and the Christmas Collection 2019 paper for the decorative paper panels.  (I LOVE THIS PAPER!)  Before I've attached the layers, I've masked and stamped the sentiment from Silent Night in pieces to spread throughout the card with versamark ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.  I've cut the Dove and lots of the snowflakes from Christmas Dove out of white and then used a clear spica to add shimmer to the snowflakes (once again hard to photograph but they look pretty!).  The Dove is matted with the light blue paper from Christmas Collection 2019 and cut with the matching die.  On the last panel I've diecut the Christmas Greetings out of Silver Glitter paper and attached with glue.  To finish I've added some Silver Glitter Deco Tape, White Sequins and a couple of clear rhinestones (front panel only).

If you thought that was the end, I still have ONE MORE project for you today!!  For my last project, once again I have used the Milk Carton Holder but filled it with 4oz Coffee Cups decorated with the brand new Mini Coffee Cup Wrapper and Layer dies!!  I love that you can use the holder with either the Milk Cartons or the 4oz Coffee Cups!!

I've followed the same procedure as able for constructing the holder but made it out of cream card and Follow the Son paper.

You can purchase these white 4oz Coffee Cups along with the Mini Coffee Cup Wrapper and Layer Dies at Divinity Designs!  I've made the wrapper out of Follow the Son paper.  Over the join I've made the circle panel using Circles Dies, Double Stitched Circles Dies and Pretty Posies Dies.  For a bit of fun, I've tied up the cups with some grosgrain ribbon and attached a button to the bow.
