ODBD Silver/Gold Challenge

Welcome to Day 3 of our special Second Anniversary Celebration at Our Daily Bread designs!  Today, we continue our Anniversary theme. As with all our challenges, it was announced on the ODBD blog on Mar. 7th so you could get a head start, and we hope you had a chance to do that, but if not there is still time!

Silver and Gold are the traditional gifts for those special milestones in a marriage... the 25th and 50th Anniversaries. Today's challenge is to make a project that includes Silver and/or Gold. The only stipulation is that it must be new work, no back links please! Link to the Silver/Gold challenge (posted on the ODBD Blog) in your post, and be sure to link your project to Mr Linky on the ODBD Blog by 8pm USA EST tonight (10AM Tuesday Australian EST)! The winner will be chosen by random and will receive a $25.00 Gift Certificate for stamps from the ODBD Store! The winner will be announced on the ODBD Blog post tomorrow when the next challenge is issued!

Please be sure to visit all the blogs linked below, and leave a comment for each designer, because there is hidden candy on some of the blogs! You will not know where it is, but if your name is chosen and you have left a comment for the designers... you will win it!!! You won't know how many have candy each day... so be sure to visit them all and leave some love! (My Blog is set to Australian EST, so don't worry about the time stamp!)

Winners of the individual blog candy will be announced by the blog owners who had the candy on the next day on their blogs. There will also be a big announcement on March 19th here on the ODBD Blog recapping ALL the winners... the challenges, the blog candy, and the blog hop winners! So be sure to check back there then!!!

*If uploading to SCS or other on line gallery, please use key word ODBD2AC3 so we can find your creations!!

Here's some details on my card today....
I've used a base of purple bazzill, layered with white and some silver card, topped with more purple embossed with Swiss Dots EF.  The next panel is a piece of Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue DSP that has silver foil embossing on it matted with more white.  The feature panel is white cut with the Lattice Pendant die topped with 2 purple bazzill die cuts using large and small circle nestabilities.  Between the Pendant and the circles is a piece of wide Silver satin ribbon.  The beautiful violets are from the new ODBD set called The Lord is Risen, stamped twice in Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured with markers and a blender pen and cut them out and stuck them to the top of the circle panel. I then cut the flowers from the second piece and popped them up on top.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corners and a large silver bow made with my Bow Easy!  The inside is decorated using more white, purple bazzill punched with the MS Arch Lattice Punch, more Lilac Avenue DSP, on of the other dies also from the Lattice Pendant Spellbinders set, Petite Oval Nestabilities and the verse also from The Lord is Risen.

MTSC64 Beautiful Violets

Today I FINALLY had the chance to play Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge!  I have to say, I really love Mercy's Sketches!!  I'm also using the new ODBD set called The Lord is Risen which is perfect for Easter cards, although I can see that I'm going to be using these beautiful violets A LOT!  :)  There are a lot of exciting things happening at ODBD to celebrate their second anniversary starting on Saturday morning (US time)!!!  There are challenges and candy galore culminating in a special reveal on the 17th!!!  Make sure you stop by the ODBD Blog each day for details!!!  :)

Back to today's card; I started with a base of purple bazzill and layered with white (pierced) and lighter purple.  Next I added a piece of Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue DSP and punched one edge with the Martha Stewart Lattice Arch Punch.  The next panel is more white, this time punched with the EK Success Dotted Wave Border Punch and layered with more Lilac Avenue DSP.  Over the top of both panels I added some light purple satin ribbon.  Finally I cut a piece of white with the Label 1 Nestabilities and lightly sponged the centre with Lovely Lilac Ink.  I stamped the violets from The Lord has Risen in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with markers and a blender pen and then cut them out and popped them up on foam tape.  To finish I added the verse from the same set to the bottom of the card, a few Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the top corner and a bow made with the Bow Easy to accent the ribbon.

Stamps - The Lord has Risen (ODBD)
Paper - Purple Bazzill (2 shades), White, Kaisercraft Lilac Avenue DSP

Cute as a Button!!

This week one of the school Mums gave birth to a little baby girl called Amelia Kate.  We were so happy for them especially because they already had three sons!!!  Of course they are now being showered with PINK!!!  :)  I decided to use this weeks CPS Sketch Challenge which is being sponsored by JustRite Stampers (with a prize to win) to create a special card!!!

I started with a base of pink bazzill layered with white, lighter pink bazzill and some Nana's Nursery (Girl) DCWV paper.  Through the middle is a piece of pink bazzill punched on both sides with the Martha Stewart Floral Lace Border Punch and layered with lighter pink embossed with the Love Language EF.  The two rings are made using the borders from JustRite's Stitched with Love set and cut out with two of the Large Circle Nestabilities.  The feature panel is created using the same Stitched with Love set for the middle and the custom sentiment made using two 25pt Times New Roman Fonts.  I added a little colour with markers and blender pen and cut it out with Small Circle Nestabilities, matting it with pink cut with the Blossom Nestabilities and popped up the middle panel on foam tape.  To finish I added some tiny Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Stitched with Love, Times New Roman Font (x2) (JustRite)
Paper - Pink Bazzill (2 shades), White, DCWV Nana's Nursery Girl DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Pretty in Pink
Accessories - Large and Small Circle Nestabilities, Blossom Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Floral Lace Border Punch, Love Language EF, Markers, Blender Pen, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape.

OCCC Sympathy

Sadly today I found out that a friend of mine lost her nephew - he was only 23yrs old.  Such a hard thing for the family to deal with.  I decided to use this week's Our Creative Corner challenge which was a sketch.  As is often the case with sympathy occasions, I found myself reaching for the Thinking of You set by JustRite Stampers.

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with Black and then two pieces of the La Creme DCWV paper.  Across the join is more VV that has been punched on one side with the Fiskars Lace Border Punch and topped with some 1" Black Satin Ribbon.  The focal panel is from Thinking of You by JustRite and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on VV.  I then cut it out with Small Oval Nesties and matted with black cut with Large Oval Nesties and than matted again with more VV cut with the Label 11 Nesties and then popped the whole panel up on foam tape.  To finish I added some small Kaisercraft Black Pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Thinking of You (JustRite)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Black, La Creme DCWV DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 11, Small Classic Oval and Large Classic Oval Nestabilities, Fiskars Lace Border Punch, 1" Black Satin Ribbon, Kaisercraft Black Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!

Tags for Boys!

Hello Everyone!!!  Today my 8yr old son had to go to a birthday party and the challenge at JustRite Stampers is to create a Terrific Tag.  Get out your JustRite stamps and make a tag and you could win a $50 JustRite Gift Voucher!!!  Personally I would have preferred to add some pearls or rhinestones, pretty paper and maybe some flowers, but unfortunately boys don't seem to appreciate these finer details!  :)  These tags are so quick and easy to make and I swear this one took all of 10mins to make!!

I started with a piece of blue bazzill, cut the corners and embossed it with Distressed Stripes EF.  Through the middle I added some chocolate bazzill (unfortunately it looks black - but it's dark brown!) and layered with a piece of white that had each side punched with the Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch (if I can't have pearls, I HAVE to use a punch!!!) and then embossed with the Distressed Striped EF.  Next I stamped the centre and border from Birthday Wishes in Not Quiet Navy Ink on white and cut is out with Large Circle Nestabilities, matting it with some darker blue bazzill cut with the Large Pinking Circle Nestabilities.  I popped the Pinking Circle up on Foam Tape, punched a 1/2" hole in the top and attached it to the bag handle with a bit of raffia.  Super fast and easy!!!!  I hope the birthday boy likes this and the Star Wars Lego that is inside the bag!!!  :)

Stamps - Birthday Wishes (JustRite)
Paper - Blue Bazzill (2 shades), Brown Bazzill, White
Ink - Not Quite Navy
Accessories - Large Circle and Large Pinking Circle Nestabilities, Distressed Stripes EF, Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

MTSC63 Pink Tulips

Hello Everyone!  Today I had the chance to play Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge - I loved this sketch and it gave me the chance to open my new Label 11 Nestabilities!  I also used the new Breath of Spring set by JustRite Stampers, using this beautiful bouquet of tulips.

I started with a base of pink bazzill, layered with white (pierced) and some MME Pretty Please DSP.  Through the middle I attached two pieces of pink satin ribbon and knotted them on the side and then added two Cuttlebug Vintage die cuts to the corners.  I've stamped the tulips and borders from Breath of Spring in Memento Tuxedo Black twice and coloured one of the tulips with markers and a blender pen and cut it out and popped it up.  The border has been cut with Large Classic Oval Nestabilities and matted with the matching pink scallop and finally framed it all with the new Labels 11.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Rose Pearls to each of the decorated corners and the top and bottom of the Label 11.

Stamps - Breath of Spring (ODBD)
Paper - Pink Bazzill, Smooth White, MME Pretty Please DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 11, Large Classic Oval, Large Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Cuttlebug Vintage Die, 1/2" Pink Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Matt Pack, Markers, Blender Pen, Kaisercraft Rose Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Masculine Thank You

A friend of mine needed a thank-you card for her daughter's (male) rowing coach and what better than this relaxing beach scene?  I really love this image, especially for the dreaded Man Card!!  :)  What's better is that this is perfect for this month's Dirty Dozen theme!!!

I started with a base of chocolate chip and layered with white and some MME DSP and added another layer of MME DSP.  I stamped the image from Flourishes Beach Life set and coloured with markers and a blender pen and matted with chocolate chip cut with the deckled rectangle nestabilities.  To finish I added two strands of natural hemp and popped up the sentiment from JustRite's Just a Note set.

Stamps - Just a Note (JustRite), Beach Life (Flourishes)
Paper - Chocolate Chip, White, MME
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Chocolate Chip
Accessories - Markers, Blender Pen, Dauber, Deckled Edge Rectangle Nestabilies, Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Natural Hemp, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Now on to my project:

For the inside I followed the same layout, although only adding a strip of the Porcelain DSP and then stamping the sentiment from Happy Easter across the top.
