Just Rite Set
Well so far we have been spared any further storm activity, here's hoping it stays that way!!
Today's project is a journal and matching card that a friend asked me to make for her sister-in-law's 40th birthday. The request was for "girly, pretty, pink and green", so this is the finished product.
Isn't this pretty paper? In a cheap pack of Clover paper that I found in a discount store. I've used a pink base for the card, matted with white (and pierced the edges with my SU mat pack :) ), then matted with green and then the paper. Then I stamped the single flower from Stampin Up's "Bloomin' with Beauty" (or Bloomin' Beautiful for North Americans) in black and coloured with markers, matting with pink and green (and more piercing!). The sentiment is done with the 1 5/8 Just Rite stamper and the small alphabet around the outside and the '40' is done using the Special Occasions font. The centre has been punched out with a 1 1/4 circle punch and popped on top. The rest were cut out with the circle nestabilites. The card was finished off with kaiser pearls in the corners and some green gingham under the image panel.
The journal followed the same process as the card to make it look like a matching set, although I covered the Spirex book with the paper and used the Spiral Punch from Stampin Up so that the paper goes around the spiral binding. Instead of using the same sentiment panel, I've used a border from Just Rite's '10 Designer Centers and Borders' and the receipient's initials for a traditional monogram.
The Just Rite products are hard to find in Australia at the moment, although you can get them through Andrea at the little online cardshop but you have to be quick, they are selling fast! Secondly the "Bloomin' with Beauty" set from Stampin Up is only available in the current mini catalogue (in Australia) until 30 November.
Thanks for visiting!!! :)
