Comfort Me With Apples
Hello Everyone!! It's time for another Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!!! As we enter into the busiest time of the card making season, we want to see how you use beauty and artistry and wrap it up with a bow… with ribbon! You don’t have to create a bow, just show us your favorite way to add elegance to your cards or creations with ribbon. Link up your card for the Bringing Back Beauty challenge here (link to post) to enter. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB04. You have until November 29th to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!
Today's card is made using the new Apple of My Eye set by Flourishes. I had such a good time colouring in these apples and seeing them come to life - I think I was a little crazy deciding to cut it all out, but I did love the finished effect!!! There is a quote from the bible which is also in a favourite book of mine that goes "Comfort me with apples: for I am sick with love"..... I wonder who knows which book it comes from! ;-)
I started with a base of aqua bazzill and layered with Very Vanilla, punched on the bottom with the Deco Fan border punch, and the added a piece of Thrift Shop DP. Towards the bottom I added some ivory crochet ribbon and topped with some ivory satin ribbon. Above this I added a piece of VV that had been cut with Label 8 Nestabilities and stamped the sentiment from Flourishes' Apple of My Eye set. The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R02, R22, R24, R29, G20, G21, G24, G28), then very carefully cut it all out and popped it up on foam tape to the side of the sentiment. To finish I added an ivory bow and a few Kaisercraft Blush pearls under the sentiment.
Stamps - Apple of My Eye (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Aqua Bazzill, Very Vanilla, October Afternoon Thrift Shop DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Label 8 Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Border Punch, Ivory Crochet Ribbon, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Foam Tape.
