12th Birthday Boy

Hello Everyone!  Would you believe it's yet ANOTHER male project today!  This is a quick one I made for my son who turned 12 this week.  I can't believe he's 12 - where did that time go??  It's been a pretty busy week with two sick sons, followed by a daughter heading off on her very first school camp, fighting off the sickness myself and finished off with a birthday party for the now well 12yr old boy!  No wonder I'm tired!

So for this card it had to be red because that's his favourite colour!  I've used Cherry Cobbler for the base and topped with some Very Vanilla.  The DP is some fun moustache paper that I just had to use - for some reason the boy has a fascination with moustaches, I have no idea why!!  I've created a panel of red topped with the reverse of the DP and then added some little Pennant Flags to the side.  I've cut an oval of Vanilla and then popped up the '12' which has been cut out of red with Large Numbers Dies.

Stamps - None
Paper - Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, DP
Ink - None
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Large Numbers Dies, Pennant Flags Dies

That's all from me today, hope everything is going great in your part of the world and hope you are inspired to stamp!

Birthday Box

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a fun project that I made for a co-worker for their birthday.  It is just a little something to mark the day and of course being a male means no pretty stuff, but I tried to make it fun anyway!  :)

I've used some craft card and ODBD's Luminous Lantern Die to create the box and glued it together.  Around the base I've added some orange twill ribbon.  I've then used Pennant Flags Dies to cut the blue panel and then cut the 'Happy Birthday' out of orange card with Happy Birthday Script Die and glued to the top of the pennant.  I found some fun spotty paper and die cut it with Pennant Row Dies and matted with blue cut with the other die from the same die set.  To finish I've tied it closed with an orange ribbon.

Stamps - None
Paper - Kraft, Pumpkin Pie, Blue, DP
Ink - None
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Luminous Lantern Die, Pennant Flags Dies, Happy Birthday Script Die, Pennant Row Dies; Orange Twill Ribbon, Orange Grosgrain Ribbon

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!

I've used a base of Chocolate Chip and layered with Cherry Cobbler and a piece of white cut with ODBD's Lattice Background Die.  I've added a couple of notched tags of Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler.  I've cut a piece of Chocolate Chip with Pierced Circles Dies and topped with white cut with Circles Dies and then cut the numbers out of Cherry Cobbler using Large Numbers Dies.

Ink - None
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Lattice Background Die, Large Number Dies, Pierced Circles Dies, Circles Dies

Power and Spark Time!

Hello Everyone!!!  Are you ready for a brand new Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge????   This month the hostess is yours truly and I decided to FRAME IT UP!!!  What does that mean??  Well, you could use a frame for your image on your card, you could create a Polaroid style frame or you could go all out and create a piece and put it in a frame for home decor!  Are those clogs starting to move around in your brain yet??  I can't wait to see what ideas you've got!!  :)

If that isn't enough to excite you, what if I told you that if folks play along in the Power & Spark and WIN, Marcy upped the ante when it comes to winnings. Now our lucky winner gets a $50 shopping spree to the Power Poppy Shop! Woo Hoo! Play along during May, link up your card on the Power Poppy Blog , make sure you mention and link back to the Power Poppy Challenge and you could win!!

I decided to create TWO cards to show you ideas on how to play this month's challenge!  If you look at both cards you'll notice that I used the exact same frame for both cards, just used them differently!

For the first card at the top of this post, I've used a base of Soft Sky and layered with white and some DP and then attached some lavender ribbon.  Next I've cut the frame out of X-press It Blending Card and then stamped the edges of the big bouquet from Burst of Kindness all around it and then coloured it with Copics!  The sentiment is also from Burst of Kindness and has been stamped with Versafine black, attached the the centre of the card and then popped the frame up on foam tape.

Stamps - Burst of Kindness (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, White, DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, X-press It Foam Tape, Lavender Ribbon

For my second card, I've kept the frame plain, only stamping the sentiment from Artful Display in the corner.  The base is created of white and layered with pink card and some DP with two pieces of wide pink ribbon attached.  In the middle I've added a piece of DP that sort of looks like wall paper (humour me!!).  I've then stamped several plates from Artful Display onto X-press It Blending Card and then coloured with Copic markers.  I've then fussy cut each place to create my display!  Stamp the sentiment in the corner of the frame and pop up on foam tape, finishing with a big pink bow in the corner.

Stamps - Artful Display (Power Poppy)
Paper - White, X-press It Blending Card, Pink, DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Copics, Double Stitched Rectangles, Pink Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It Foam Tape

So - are you excited to join in the challenge yet??  Let's see what amazing ideas the Bloom Brigade have used to inspire you today!!

Today I'm using a stamp set called Class Act as well as the A+ Apples Dies (serious FUN dies!).

If you've been following the blog this year, you would have seen the fabby new 3D/box/basket/lantern dies that have been brought out and how much a looooooove them so of course I had to combine these new goodies with the Glorious Gable Box Die to create a darling gift box!!

I began by using the Glorious Gable Box Die to cut some Kraft cardstock - using only the top filigree inserts so that the rest of the box was solid card.  I adhered this together with some High Tack Double sided tape and then attached some hessian (burlap) ribbon topped with green gingham ribbon around the bottom.  Next came the fun bit!!!  I cut SIX of the middle sized apple from A+ Apples dies.  FIVE I scored in roughly the middle (the shape is not totally symmetrical, so I've popped it in the Scor Buddy and scored each one at 1 inch which is close to the middle).  Fold each of these and start gluing the sides together to create the 3D apple.  Once you have half a 3D apple, glue it to the sixth die cut which is still flat - this makes it easier to glue to your box!

Die cut the apple stem and leaf and glue to the front of the box as shown.  Die cut a smaller apple using the smallest apple/stem/leaf dies in the A+ Apples set, glue together and pop it up on foam tape on the handle.  Finally stamp the sentiment from Class Act in white pigment ink onto black card cut with Pennant Flags Dies and attach as shown.

Stamps - Class Act (ODBD)
Paper - Kraft, Black, Red, Brown, Green
Ink - Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Inkpad
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Glorious Gable Box Die, A+ Apples Dies, Pennant Flags Dies; X-press It High Tack Doublesided Tape, X-press It Foam Tape, Hessian (Burlap) Ribbon, Green Gingham Ribbon

I've also made a quick Corner Bookmark using the same stamp and die set!  Create a corner bookmark out of Kraft Cardstock and layer with Rustic Beauty Collection paper (top triangle) and green card topped with Vintage Ephemera Collection paper (bottom).  Stamp the pile of books from Class Act in Rich Cocoa on X-press It Blending Card and colour with Copic Markers.  Die cut with Stitched Oval Dies and glue to the front.  Accent with the 'A+' dies from A+ Apples cut out of red and attach as shown.
