Emily

Hello Everyone!  Today I have an eclipse card that I've made for my son's girlfriend. Happy Birthday Emily!!  We hope that you have a wonderful, fun filled and very happy day - Best wishes from the Jones'!

Emily is 15 today and I tried to make something "not too over the top", but still classy!  Apparently her favourite colour is blue (me too!!), so I went looking for some pretty, but teenager appropriate paper and came across this cute butterfly paper by Kaisercraft which I thought was perfect.

I've used the Slimline Card Base die for the light blue base, Slimline Rectangles for the dark blue layer and then Slimline Layering Rectangles for the Flutter Kaisercraft layer.  I've taken the Letters E, M, I, L, Y and lay them on the patterned paper........they JUST fit!!  WHEW!!  I've held them in place with some removable tape and ran it through my Platinum die cut machine.  I've then removed the letters from the paper and embossed them before popping them up on foam tape.  To give just a little embellishing, I've added a couple of frangipani and fern die cuts.

Stamps - NONE
Ink - Memento Cantalope (flower centres)
Paper - Kaisercraft Flutter, Light Blue, Dark Blue, White, Green
Accessories - Divinity Designs Dies: Slimline Card Base, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Layering Rectangles, E, M, I, L, Y, Frangipani, Ferns; Glue

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to create!!  :)

Hello Friend!

Hello Friend!  I know some of you are enjoying the Summer weather, but here in Australia it is Winter and we are dreaming of of those warm, balmy days. So I've made a fun and tropical themed friendship card to kick off today's post.

Using the new Slimline Range from Divinity Designs for the layers - Slimline Card Base for the green base, Slimline Rectangles for the cream layer, Slimline Pierced Window Frame for the yellow layer.  In two of the windows, I've used some Cool and Casual Paper and left the middle one blank.  Across the bottom I've added some green ribbon.  I've stamped the sentiment from Wavy Words stamp/die duo in black ink onto cream card and die cut with the matching die and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  Finally I've added my flowers and greenery using Frangipani Dies and Ferns Dies.

Stamps - Wavy Words SDD (Divinity Designs)
Ink - Versafine Black
Paper - Divinity Designs Cool and Casual Paper, Green, Cream, White and Yellow
Accessories - Divinity Designs Dies: Slimline Card Base, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Pierced Window Frame, Frangipani, Ferns and Wavy Words SDD; X-press It Foam Tape, Glue, Green Ribbon.

My second project is an A2 Card using the new Raspberries stamp set. I've stamped it in Gray Flannel (lightly stamping it off first to give a second generation/paler image. I've coloured it with Copics and pencils and die cut with Vintage Labels Dies. I've sponged Antique Linen ink around the image while it was still in the die.  I've framed this with red card cut with Vintage Borders.  The card base is created using A2 Portrait Card Base in red, Matting Rectangle in River Rock and then Lattice Background in Cream.  Around these layers I've added some Hessian (Burlap) Ribbon and Red Ribbon.  I've stamped the sentiment from Raspberries in Warm Sepia, die cut with Circles, sponged Antique Linen while still in the die. I've added some cream die cut with Leaves and Branches for just a little accent and popped it up on foam tape.

Stamps - Raspberries (Divinity Designs)

Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Red, River Rock, Cream

I've made my last card a Sympathy card and therefore wanted to keep it very subtle and understated.  I've used the Slimline Card Base to cut the blue base and the Slimline Rectangles to cut a cream layer.  I kept it in the die and airbrushed some B21 Copic.  I've then taken the Roses Stencil and some Antique Linen Ink to sponged the pattern background which turned it into this lovely tone on tone effect.  I've topped this with blue cut with Slimline Flower Petal Background.  Around this I've attached some ribbons and die cut the 'Sympathy' from With Sympathy Stamp/Die Duo twice in cream and blue.  To finish I've added some tiny cream pearls.

Ink - Antique Linen
Stencils - Roses
Accessories - Divinity Designs Dies: Slimline Card Base, Slimline Rectangles, Slimline Flower Petal Background, With Sympathy Stamp/Die Duo; B21 Copic, Ivory Ribbon, Blue Ribbon, Bow Easy, Cream Pearls

July Release!

Hello Everyone!!  This month Divinity Designs has gone Slimline!!!  These long and tall cards are the hottest trend in the market right now and Divinity Designs has a MASSIVE range of goodies including papers and dies to choose from!!

I really wanted to make one card using larger roses since I had so much more space to play with, so  I've created the roses out of pink card using Rose Dies.  For the extra leaves and flourishes, I've cut some green and cream card using Rose Leaves and Leaves and Branches Dies to create the floral explosion.  I've constructed the card base and layers using all the new toys.....I mean....products......

I've used Slimline Card Base Die (you will need a diecut machine with a larger die cut area), for the cream base, Slimline Rectangles for the pink layer,  Slimline Layering Rectangles for the Beautiful Blooms Slimline Paper, Slimline Flower Petal Background for the cream decorative layer (swoooon....love this die!).  For the middle, I've added cream card die cut with Vintage Labels and lightly sponged with cream ink (although to be honest, I think there was a tiny bit of green still on my blender brush so it has a slight green hue) and also die cut a Double Stitched Pennant Flags.  To finish I've added cream card die cut with Happy Birthday Caps and airbrushed with RV32 Copic.

Now this card is not one you would realistically be able to post in the mail, but rather a special hand delivered one.  If you wanted to post it, I would make the roses flat instead of shaped.  But why go flat if you don't have to right!!  :)

I have a second slimline card today, this time using a brand new stamp set called Raspberries!  Such a cute stamp set filled with sweet sentiments!

I've used the Slimline Card Base Die to cut the red base, and the Slimline Rectangles for the kraft layer.  I've used the image from Raspberries and versamark ink to stamp around the edges of the kraft layer.  Next I've used Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Layering Rectangles to cut the red and cream layers and wrapped some hessian (burlap) ribbon around it.  Next I've stamped the image from Raspberries in gray ink onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics and pencils.  I've die cut this with Double Stitched Circles and brushed Antique Linen ink around it while still in the die.  I've matted it with red card cut with Scalloped Circles for a delicate edge and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  Finally I've stamped the sentiment from Raspberries in brown ink, die cut with Pennant Flags and matted with red cut with Double Stitched Pennant Flags.

Baby Girl

Hello Everyone!  Today I have a Twist and Pop Up Card for a baby girl!  I know I seem to be addicted to twist and pop cards, but they are just so fun to make and I just can't help myself!!  It's also really cool to see the reactions on the faces of the recipients when they open them.  :)

I've used the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies to cut the Blushing Bride card base and patterned paper layer.  Matting Rectangle Die has been used to cut the white layer.  All the papers come from the Baby Girl Paper Pad and I've used Pierced Frames and Pennant Row Dies for the frame and bunting.  I've used the Bless This Baby Stamp/Die Duo for the sentiment and 'Baby' diecut.  I've actually diecut 'Baby' 3 times in white and once in the solid colour from the paper pad and glued them all together - this adds some dimension and gives a lot of strength.

Inside, I've used the layer die from A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer Dies to cut the white panels and added strips of patterned paper.  I've cut the (unseen) mechanism panel out of white using Twist and Pop with Layers Dies, and the accordion panel out of Blushing Bride to match the card base.  The layering has been done with matching papers.  To finish I've used the Letters G, I, R, L to die cut the solid paper from the Baby Girl Paper Pad.

Ink - Versafine Warm Sepia

Mothers

Hello Everyone!  Mothers are amazing aren't they?  I suppose like most people, I think my Mum is the bestest in the whole world, my friend, my confidant, my support, my backstop.....  It doesn't seem to matter how old you get, your Mum is still the one you go to and at the moment it's hard with the Covid19 virus out there for many to see and hug their mothers, so I think a card would be perfect to show a little love.  This sentiment really speaks to me and perfect for all the Mums or Moms out there.

I've used an aqua base and Shabby Rose Paper layer cut with A2 Portrait Card Base with Layer Dies and the white layer cut with Matting Rectangle.  I've cut more white card with Scalloped Chain Die which fits perfectly over the Shabby Rose layer.  Around this I've added some white and aqua ribbons.  Next I've stamped the rose image and sentiment from My World Stamp/Die Duo onto X-press It Blending Card, coloured with Copics and diecut with Pierced Ovals.  I've stamped the three rose image, coloured it with Copics and die cut with the matching die and popped it up on X-press It Foam Tape.  I've matted this with aqua diecut with Layered Lacey Ovals and finished with a big bow.
