A Pop of Pink
Hello Everyone!! Today I have another quick card for you using some of the latest offerings by ODBD! As you can see, I'm at it again with the roses - although this time, the card was constructed with left over bits from my previous card that you'll find HERE. As you can see from that card, I had left over flower pieces and leaves as well as that oval cut out from the Lattice Background. I thought, surely I can come up with a way to use an oval lattice piece.....and so I did! :)
I've used a base of Soft Sky, layered with Very Vanilla and topped with Shabby Rose Collection paper. Across this I've added a piece of vanilla cut with Flower Lattice Die to create a decorative strip. Next I've cut a piece of Soft Sky withe Layered Lacey Ovals and topped it with the left over piece of vanilla cut with Stitched Ovals Dies and Lattice Background Die. I've then added the rose that has been made using Rose Dies and Rose Leaves Dies to one side. I've stamped the sentiment from Lovely Flower in Rich Cocoa ink and die cut with Pennant Flags Dies and attached as shown. To finish I've added some pearls to the corners.
Stamps - Lovely Flower (ODBD)
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper - ODBD Shabby Rose Collection, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, Pink, Wild Wasabi
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Layered Lacey Ovals, Stitched Ovals Dies, Lattice Background Die, Rose Dies, Rose Leaves Dies, Flower Lattice Die, Pennant Flags Dies; Pearls
That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!! :)

Yassine
Hello Everyone!! Today I have another one of those dreaded MAN CARDS! SIGH! Men are so very difficult to create for, so thank goodness for stars and browns!! :)
Last week, one of the loved members of our team at work had his final day. It was actually very sad as he didn't want to leave. You see, Yassine is a beautiful young man from Morocco and even though he has worked with the company for years and is a valued member of our team, the government has told him he has to leave and go home to Morocco. There were tears and not just from me... :( Of course I had to make him a special good-bye card from everyone, which is why this is a long tall card - plenty of space for everyone to write something.
I used a base of Baked Brown Sugar and topped with Cherry Cobbler and some random star patterned paper from my stash. Through the centre is a piece of Chocolate Chip topped with some spotty brown paper also from my stash. Then came the fun of lots of pennant shaped pieces and star die cuts in browns and reds. To personalise it, I've die cut the letters of his name with a font set by Spellbinders. The sentiment is from From All Of Us by Clearly Besotted, stamped in Rich Cocoa and die cut with an oval die. (I really like this set for a couple of reasons, 1. It has cute flowers in it and 2. It has lots of 'goodbye' type sentiments for all sorts of occasions, such as new job, retirement, sorry you are leaving and so on.)
I also decorated the inside stamping a coffee cup and beans in versamark (the beans go all around the edges) and the sentiment, from From All Of Us by Clearly Besotted, in Rich Cocoa. (In case you are wondering about the coffee theme inside - I work at a Patisserie and we sell and drink a lot of coffee!)
Stamps - From All Of US (Clearly Besotted)
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa, Versamark
Paper - Baked Brown Sugar, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, DP
Accessories - Oval Dies, Star Dies, Scissors, X-press It Foam Tape
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp! :)

Pink Birthday Rose
Hello Everyone! Roses are still blooming at ODBD and today I have another card using all the fabby new April releases that I seem to be more than a little addicted to right now!! :) I sure hope you aren't sick of roses just yet! No? Great!!! :)
Since I am still trying to restock my birthday card stash, it's another Birthday card!! This time I've used a base of Very Vanilla card and layered with Wild Wasabi and then topped with Shabby Rose Collection paper. Over the paper layer I've added a piece of Very Vanilla cut with Lattice Background Die with the middle cut out with Stitched Oval Dies. To one side I've added a pink ribbon and then cut some leaves using Rose Leaves Dies. I've made the rose out of pink card cut with Rose Dies, dampening each piece, shaping, allow to dry and then gluing each piece together and adding a pearl to the centre. I've also added two pearls to the top corner and finished by stamping the sentiment from Lovely Flower direct to the paper.
Stamps - Lovely Flower (ODBD)
Ink - Black
Paper - Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Pink, ODBD Shabby Rose Collection paper
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Rose Dies, Rose Leaves Dies, Lattice Background Die, Pink Ribbon, Pearls
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!! :)

ODBD April Look Back!
Hello Everyone! The Breadsticks are having a look back at the ODBD April Release and what a fun release it was!! Lanterns, Roses and flowery stamps galore!! For today's post I have two projects made, a lantern and a card! I have to say I have really enjoyed creating these lanterns - today I have made a four sided lantern, although you can also make a five sided lantern too!
Start with the Luminous Lantern Die and cut four sides and base out of black cardstock and construct with a strong adhesive (I used X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape). Next came the rose and I've cut several pieces out of Cherry Cobbler card using the Rose Dies. Lightly dampen and shape (I used an old foam mouse mat and a balling tool out of my cake making supplies!). I've allowed the pieces to dry in the shape I wanted by placing them in an egg carton - they are easier to put together when the card is dry and simply glue and layer to get the effect you are happy with. Cut the leaves using Rose Leaves Dies and attach them and the rose to the lantern. I've stamped the sentiment from Lovely Flower in black and die cut with Pennant Flags Dies. I looked at the bottom of the lantern and thought it needed a little something, but didn't want to use a ribbon as I had a ribbon to close the top - so I took the Lavish Layers Dies and cut a piece of red card with the largest die and then trimmed the edges to create a tiny border, cut to the length of the sides and glued into place! I thought about it later, that this would also make a lovely gift box - imagine it filled with Easter Eggs for this week-end!
Stamps - Lovely Flower (ODBD)
Ink - Black
Paper - Black, Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, White
Accessories - ODBD Dies: Luminous Lantern, Rose Dies, Rose Leaves Dies, Pennant Flags Dies, Lavish Layers Dies, Red Ribbon, X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape
My second project to day is a quick and easy card. I've decided to go with a birthday card as I need to replenish my stash!! I've used a base of Wisteria Wonder and layered with Soft Sky die cut with Double Stitched Rectangles Dies and topped with some Shabby Rose Collection paper. Around this I've attached some silver ribbon. Down one side I've added a panel of white topped with more Shabby Rose paper. I've stamped the oval flower image from Lovely Flower in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics and then die cut with Fancy Fan Die. I've then cut another fan shape out of plain white card and inverted it to create a decorative strip! To finish I've added a bow to the ribbon and stamped the sentiment direct to the card front.

As you probably know, it is Good Friday today - a very holy day in the Christian calendar! Here in Australia it is a Public Holiday and everything is closed, no shops are open or anything like that unlike some Public Holidays where the stores are still open. It's like Christmas or ANZAC Day where almost everything comes to a stop. I hope wherever you are in the world, that you have a chance to stop, reflect and celebrate Good Friday in whatever way is traditional in your homeland and prepare to celebrate Easter!

My Sweet Petunia and Power Poppy Hop
Hello Everyone! Hang on to your hats, My Sweet Petunia meets Power Poppy for an explosion of ideas and a massive hop with both Design Teams!! Are you as excited as we are??!! Not only is the hop exciting but you also have the chance to WIN the Power Poppy Giveaway (there are TWO $25 gift certificates) and the MISTI Giveaway (winners choice of original or mini)!!! To have the chance to win you have to comment on EVERY BLOG!
MISTI Winners will be announced on this page of the My Sweet Petunia blog on April 14th. Power Poppy Winners of (2) $25 gift certificates will be on the Power Poppy Blog on the 14th.
Lets get into my project today!
Let's see how I used the Mini MISTI to create my card! For the feature panel I die cut the piece of card and then lined up the image and the sentiment (nice to know the sentiment is always STRAIGHT with the MISTI!) - I've used Sweet Memories for the image and Loving Tulips for the sentiment!
I've stamped the image and part of the sentiment in black (if you don't get an even impression, it's so easy to stamp it perfectly again!). Then I've inked up the bottom part of the sentiment in a lavender ink and stamped it - twice actually - to get a nice, well inked impression especially as this ink is a little pale.
You can use the same idea to place the stamps of the other sweet peas around the edges of the larger panel (use the super strong magnets so you can put your panel in the centre of the MISTI and have the stamps go around the side).
Once I've stamped the background, I've coloured the Sweet Peas with Copics (V000, V01, V12, V15, V17, G40, G43, G46) and matted both panels with brown card, attached some hessian (burlap) ribbon and pink ribbon around it and attached to a Sweet Sugarplum card base, popping the feature panel up on foam tape!
I'm sure you can't wait to see what the Sweet Petunia girls and Bloom Brigade have created for today - so make sure you pop by these blogs and don't forget to comment for your chance to WIN!!!

ODBD April Release!
Hello Everyone!! It's the beginning of a new month and that means it's time for another ODBD release and oh boy are there some gorgeous new stamps and dies that you are going to love this month!! For my project today, I've used the new Roses Dies, Rose Leaves Dies, Lovely Flower Stamp Set and.........the stunning new Luminous Lantern Die!
I couldn't help myself....I just *had* to start with the Luminous Lantern Die - which I cut out of cream card. The Luminous Lantern Die can make either a four or five sided lantern - I went for a five sided and cut all the sides and the base out of two pieces of A4 cardstock (8 1/8" x 11 3/4") with room to spare! (I think it's important to use a good strong adhesive to construct your lantern so that it stays together well - today I've used X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape.) Once I'd created the lantern, I set to work on the roses. I cut several pieces of pink card using the Roses Dies, dampened them slightly and added a bit of shape and then glued together, creating one large flower and a couple of buds. For the greenery, I've cut a few leaves using Rose Leaves Dies and a couple of pieces using Leaves and Branches Dies and attached it all as shown. (I found it easier to attach the pieces to the side of the lantern using glue dots so you don't have to wait for glue to dry.) Next I've stamped the sentiment from Lovely Flower onto white cut and die cut it with Pennant Flags Dies and attached to the front of the lantern. Finally the top! Now, you could close your lantern in a couple of ways - I've put the tabs inside and pulled it closed with a piece of pink ribbon, tying it shut with a bow.
Stamps - Lovely Flower (ODBD)
Ink - Versafine Onyx Black
Paper - Cream, Pink, Green, White
Accessories - ODBD Roses Dies, Rose Leaves Dies, Leaves and Branches Dies, Luminous Lantern Die, Pennant Flags Dies, Pink Satin Ribbon, X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape
