JustRite Damask Sneak Peek!!

Welcome to another sneak peek from JustRite!!! This set is called Wood Stamper Small Damask which is 1 3/16th and comes with a Bonus 60pt Font Set and 3 Damask Borders!!! This is such a fabulous size as you can use it as a small feature or build it up with layers to make it a focal point which is what I chose to do today!! This set will be available for sale on July 7th!!

The other big news over at JustRite is that they are also previewing the brand new Thinking of You set!!! Can you say GORGEOUS!!!! I can't wait to get my hands on this set!! Not only do you get to see this beautiful set....there's BLOG CANDY!!! But you only have until Wednesday 1 July midnight to post a comment!!!
I was also inspired by this week's Weekend Sketch Challenge being hosted by Cami!

I started with a base of white and layered with black and more white - embossed with Swiss Dots EF. The main panel is black with the bottom punched using the Fiskars 'Lace' border punch and layered with Kaisercraft Argentella paper. I then stamped the Damask 'S' in Real Red using the brand new set and matted it with two sizes of the Spellbinders Blossom die set and popped it all up on foam tape. I offset the diecuts, embossed the edges and pierced a circle around the Damask S layer - not that you can really see it in the picture.

To finish off, I added some red satin ribbon across the bottom and added a medium white Kaisercraft flower, layered with a small red Kaisercraft flower and a silver flower brad by Stampin' Up!

Stop by the other Design Team girls and see what they have created!!!

And don't forget to check out all the new Thinking of You previews as well!!!

Featured Stamper - DawnL!!!

It's Featured Stamper Sunday!!! Today the honour goes to the amazingly talented DawnL! She has a HUGE gallery of beautiful work to choose from and I chose her Courage and Friendship card to case. I changed the sentiment and image and colours but kept the idea of the large sentiment and the flowers. I also had the chance to use the two soon to be released stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs - Grow in Grace and Amazing Grace.
I started with a base of white, layered with So Saffron and another panel of white embossed with 'Texile' embossing folder. The frame is Spellbinders Frameabilites - Classic Frame and has been cut, embossed and stenciled using ODBD's Sunflower ink pad and then popped the whole thing up on foam tape. I then stamped Amazing Grace in Olive (also from ODBD) in the centre. (The stamp does come with the third verse but it just didn't fit in my frame.) The dogwood flower is from the Grow in Grace set, which I stamped in black and coloured using Sunflower and Olive and a blender pen and carefully cut out with scissors and a scalpel and glued to the side. To finish of I added some So Saffron ribbon that my dear friend Pam (Pam124 on SCS) sent me to the corners and topped those with some Kaisercraft Yellow pearls.
Stamps - Amazing Grace, Grow in Grace (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper - White and So Saffron
Ink - Sunflower and Olive (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Accessories - Classic Frame die, So Saffron ribbon, Yellow Kaisercraft pearls, sponge, blender pen, scissors, scalpel, Textile embossing folder.
That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!! :)

WSC85 ODBD Sneak Peek!!!!

Today's card is a sneak peek for the upcoming release from Our Daily Bread Designs!!! This card has been made using the soon to be released Mother Teresa set. I used last week's Weekend Sketch Challenge as inspiration, I really liked this sketch, I just didn't get the chance to play in time!

I started with a base of deep purple bazzill, layered with a lighter shade of purple, white and some Basic Grey Wisteria paper. The lotus flower has been stamped in black on white card, coloured with markers (Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Brocade Blue) and ODBD ink pads Sunflower and Olive and a blender pen. It was then cut out with circle nestabilities and matted with the matching scallop circle in deep purple. I did two purple circles, offset them and pierced the scallops. The verse is from the same set, stamped in Perfect Plum on more Wisteria paper which was then matted with white and light purple. I then finished off by adding a purple satin ribbon to the side and some snow Kaisercraft pearls near the verse and in the top right corner.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting and don't forget to stop by the other DT girls for more sneak peeks and inspiration!!!

JustRite Sneak Peek - Preserves Set

Today I've got a Sneak Peek at the Preserves Set from JustRite Stampers! This is just one of many new releases due out in July and August and you are going to LOVE them!! This particular set will be available from July 7th!!

I started by choosing which stamp I wanted and went with this cute jam jar and matching border. I stamped it in black and coloured it with a variety of markers and then cut it out with Circle Nestabilties. The label on the jar is blank so I simply wrote in 'JAM'. I chose this cute DCWV Strawberry paper (from the Nana's Nursery - Girl stack) and matched it with the green spot paper. I punched the edges using the Fiskars 'Lazy Days of Summer' border punch and then took another piece of the green paper and cut out a scalloped circle nestie to go under the label. Then I punched another smaller scalloped circle for the lid, a small white straight edged circle and cut out one of the strawberries and put it on top. I glued it all to the jar using some Power Pritt Gel Glue.....fantastic stuff!!

Since I seemed to have a bit of the green punched paper and strawberry paper left I decided to make a little 4 1/2inch square card to go with it. I reached for the decorative border from the same Preserves Set and stamped it in Black and then used the Trompe Script Upper and Lower Case Font Sets to creat the 'For You' sentiment in the centre that was stamped in Rose Red versacolor and cut with Circle Nestabilties and Label 3 Nestabilities. To finish I simply added some silver brads to the corners and cut a small strawberry to embellish the sentiment panel.

If you are wondering what type of jam this is - it's Strawberry and Rosella Jam! Rosella Jam is one of those things that you can't buy in the shops, the sort of thing your Grandmother, Mum, Aunt or neighbour made or you could get it at a local market. I haven't had it for years.....although I'm seriously considering testing my brown thumb at gardening and try to grow a Rosella bush!!
What?? You don't know what Rosella Jam is!?! It's an old Aussie recipe that is made from the fleshy red calyx (kind of a mix of fruit and flower) and bracts that are around the seed of the Wild Rosella bush. There are many differents forms of recipe for making Rosella Jam although the traditional one can be found HERE although I think THIS or THIS looks easier!! When I asked about making Rosella Jam I was simply told -

You Need -
Rosellas
Water
Sugar

Method
Separate the seedpods and the red calyx. Squash the seedpods a bit and cover with water and boil for 10mins until soft. Strain and discard the pulp, keeping the liquid. Add the red calyx to the liquid until really soft. Measure and add 1 cup of sugar for each cup of Rosella pulp. Stir over a gentle heat until sugar dissolves and then bring to the boil. (Oh, it will bubble REALLY high so make sure you use a BIG saucepan!) Test to see if it's cooked and ready by testing a small amount in the freezer by letting it chill - if you press and it crinkles it's ready or another sign is the frothing settles down, just stir often because this is when it will stick and burn!
There are some great designs being made by the other Design Team girls as well so why don't you check them out for more inspiration.....

MMSC7 Graceful Peek

Today's card is a sneak peek of the soon to be released 'Grow in Grace' by Our Daily Bread Designs!! This beautiful set and two co-ordinating singles will be available for sale on July 1! I also used this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

I started with a base of white cardstock, layered with a mid pink bazzill, light pink bazzill and Basic Grey Porcelain DSP. The rectangular panel is mid pink that has been punched using the EK Success Wave Border Punch on each side. Layered on that is a piece of white that has been embossed with Swiss Dots EF. The Dogwood flowers are from 'Grow with Grace' and have been stamped twice in black and coloured with markers and a blender pen. Both stems were then cut out with scissors and a scalpal (for the small bits), popped on pop dots and put together to make a long strand. The verse is from the same set, stamped in black, cut out with Label 4 Nestabilities and embossed the edge. I glued it to some light pink and carefully hand cut the fine mat around it embellishing with another dogwood flower and a couple of leaves. Finished off with some wide white satin ribbon across the middle, a silver swirl clip with some thinner white satin and a few Snow Kaisercraft pearls.

Featured Stamper - Sumtoy!!

This week's Featured Stamper is Sumtoy who has a huge gallery to chose from! I was inspired by her Morning Butterfly card and changed the colours, added a sentiment, moved the ribbon, modified the layout and added some pearls! I started with a base of Kiwi Kiss, layered with Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and some Bella Rose DSP. The main panel is Chocolate Chip layered with Riding Hood Red that has been punched with the EK success punch 'fleur de lis'. (While punching this part my punch got stuck....I thought I'd killed it!!) Next I cut the some Chocolate Chip with the Label 3 die and layered with some Kiwi Kiss punched with the circle nesties (and pierced the edge) and punched a white panel and then embossed it. The butterfly is from my brand new Inkadinkado set 'Gem Stone Insects' clear stamp set. Stamped in Ruby Red, cut out and popped up on foam tape. Finished off by adding the sentiment in chocolate chip, some kaisercraft Chocolate pearls to the corners and either side of the sentiment and a chocolate coloured satin ribbon across the bottom.

Quiet Waters...

You know, I really thought I was getting better when I posted last... but no, I just can't seem to shake this head cold. :( Now all the kids have it too - fun times in our house right now.
Enough moaning, here is a card that I have made using the brand new Quiet Waters by Our Daily Bread Designs!!!
I started with a base of green bazzill, topped with water (pierced of course!!) and some dusty blue bazzill. Along the top and bottom of the blue layer I've used the Ric Rac Scalloped Border template by Spellbinders to pierce the pattern and added some snow kaisercraft pearls to embellish. The main panel has been stamped in brown and coloured with markers. The deer and fawn have been stamped twice, cut out and mounted on foam tape and the stream has been covered with Dimensional Magic. The whole piece was cut out using rectangle nestabilities and layered on some Basic Grey Wisteria paper matted with white. The verse is from the same set and has been stamped in Old Olive and Not Quite Navy on white and cut with the Spellbinders Label 4 die. The blue layer under it was hand cut and all mounted on foam tape with white organdy ribbon tabs top and bottom. Finished off by adding a silver swirl clip to the side knotted with some more white organdy ribbon.
Stamps - ODBD Quiet Waters
Paper - White, green, blue bazzill, Basic Grey Wisteria DSP
Ink - Brown, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy

SC232 Snow Door

I am finally starting to feel better!!! WOOHOO and thank the Lord for that!!!! So today I actually decided to play with this week's sketch challenge at SCS. I know most of you in the Northern Hemisphere are basking in lovely Spring or Summer weather, but I am freezing here - so I was inspired to make a card with snow!!!
I started with a base of white, layered with some blue bazzill and more white and topped with some of my favourite Little Yellow Bicycle DSP. The horizontal band is more blue bazzill punched with my new Fiskars Eyelet Lace Embossing Border Punch and tied with some wide white grosgrain. The main image is stamped using Our Daily Bread Designs, Ask, Seek, Knock. I stamped the door in Jet Black Stazon, coloured with blue and grey markers and added some Liquid Applique and heated it with my heat tool (lesson - put the applique on LAST because it squashes when you use your cutter!!!). For the square corners I've used the square dies from the 'Vintage' die set and cut it out of white cardstock. I've finished by adding part of the verse in black to the corner and some tiny 'snow' pearls by Kaisercraft to the other corners.
Stamps - ODBD Ask, Seek, Knock
Paper - White and blue bazzill, watercolor paper, Little Yellow Bicycle DSP
Ink - Black Stazon
Accessories - Liquid Applique, markers, blender pen, 'Vintage' die set, Fiskars Eyelet Lace Embossing punch, white grosgrain ribbon, Snow Kaisercraft pearls.
That's all for today, hope you're warmer than me and thanks for visiting!!! :)

A Neutral Birthday and RAKS!!!!

I know it has been a VERY long time since my last post and many thanks to my friends who have been emailing me to make sure I'm OK. My Mum came to visit for the week-end and I haven't seen her since Christmas. We also went to the Papercrafts Festival here in Brisbane. I was struggling with a cold but it wasn't too bad. Monday Mum went home again and we also celebrated my daughter's 2nd Birthday by taking the family to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Today my hubby went overseas and I woke up as sick as a dog!!!! I could barely talk at all. However I promised my neighbour that I would make a birthday card for her to give to her mother. All I was told was 'Neautral Colours'.......OK.....
I was inspired by this week's Weekend Sketch Challenge and set to work with a base of Very Vanilla. The three panels are my favourite papers by Kaisercraft - Cafe Culture, matted with Close to Cocoa.
The main panel comes from JustRite's Birthday Wishes Set that I stamped twice in Close to Cocoa. The first was cut out with circle nestabilites and matted with the scalloped circle nestie, the inner was punched with a 1 3/4in punch and popped up on foam tape. To finish I've added Kaisercraft Chino pearls to every second flourish in the sentiment panel, pearls to the top right corner and some dark cream satin ribbon across the bottom. Don't know if it's my best work, but it's nice to shake the cobwebs off and get creating again!!!
The next couple of cards are RAKS from my wonderful friends!!!! The first is from my BFF Edna who made this spectacular card to congratulate and celebrate my announcement on the JustRite DT!!!! Honestly, how cool is this card!!!! She is the queen of chipboard I'm telling you!!!! :) I had to blur the inside because of the personal message, but I really wanted to show off the inside!!!

The second amazing RAK comes from my wonderful cyber friend Michelle aka sf9erfan!!!
She made this GORGEOUS card for my Featured Stamper week on SCS and I'm telling you it looks even better IRL!!! See Michelle - the button didn't fall off!!!! :) She also popped in a pack of these super cute Aquamarine Kaisercraft rhinestones!!!!!
HUGE HUGS to both my friends for these wonderful gifts from the heart!!!!!
Well, I'm absolutely exhausted and still sick as a dog, so I'm heading to bed. Hope things are better in your part of the world!!!
Stamps - JustRite Birthday Wishes Set
Paper - Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Kaisercraft - Cafe Culture
Ink - Close to Cocoa

JustRite Card and NEWS!!!

Today I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the JustRite Design Team!!! I was so excited to be asked as I just love this product as regular readers of this blog would know! It is so perfect for making that special personlised gift or card for someone.

Today I've used the new Birthday Wishes Set. As soon as I saw this stamp I knew that I HAD to use it!!! Doesn't it just yell Girly Girl!!! And what better combination for it than Pink and Yellow!! I started with a base of light yellow Bazzill, layered with white and light pink (which I pierced the edges). Then I grabbed my much loved Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and cut four panels leaving a space through the middle. My focal piece has been stamped twice, once in Orchid Versacolor, the other in Versamark and embossed with gold. Then I punched the centre of the gold one out with a 1 3/4in circle punch (I would have used nestabilities, but I don't have the small circle set.....yet!!) The pink one was cut with the large circle nestabilities and then matted with the scalloped yellow panel cut using the scalloped circle nesties. (Don't you just LOVE how these stamps PERFECTLY match with the Spellbinders dies!!!!) I finished off by adding some layered prima flowers, punched branches and Chino Kaisercraft pearls in the centres and along the centre of the card.

I've also decorated the inside using a strip of Urban Prairie paper, matted with white and cut out one of those adorable yellow butterflies!

Living Water...

Happy Release Day!!!! Yes, today is the day that you can buy the brand new 'Ask, Seek, Knock' and 'Quiet Waters' from Our Daily Bread Designs!!!! I was also inspired by this week's Week-end Sketch Challenge for this card.

I decided to use 'Quiet Waters', a soothing stamp set with a huge range of possiblities! I started with a base of green bazzill, layered with blue and white (pierced) and some pretty Basic Grey 'Wisteria' paper from the 6x6 Paper Pack. Then I stamped the image in black stazon onto watercolour paper and then cut out the stream with oval nestabilities. It has been coloured using markers/ink pads and a blender pen. The scallops have been pierced and then the whole panel has been layered on a piece of green bazzil that has been cut using the Label 4 Nestabilities. In keeping with the water theme I've added white Kaisercraft pearls to the main image panel, a swirl corner embellishment (humour me and think of it as a waterlily), some Clear Dew Drops and some white organdy ribbon that I've pleated to look like a rippling stream!!
On the inside of the card I've added a white panel for writing, some more Wisteria paper and used Close to Cocoa to stamp the verse.
Hop on over to the other girls to see their amazing work....
