BWT White As Snow!

Hello Everyone!!  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!!  If you've jetted in from Meredith's Blog, than you've arrived at the right destination!  If you've arrived by chance, why not start back at the Flourishes' Blog as see all the inspiration the team have for you!!  This month, our lovely hostess Meredith has challenged us to a White As Snow challenge!  This is open to interpretation, so I've gone with a mostly white card with a little 'cool' blue for a snowy feel.  Here in Australia, it is now Summer time so definitely no snow in my neck of the woods!  In saying that, even in the middle of winter it never snows here, our climate is just too tropical!  :)

I started by cutting a piece of white with Spellbinders Tapestry die and then matted it with a piece of white lightly airbrushed with Copic B000.  I've wrapped some white crochet lace ribbon and white satin ribbon around these layers.  I've then added a rhinestone flourish for a bit of sparkle!  The sentiment is from Flourishes' Winter Blossoms set and has been cut with Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Window Die Set and then popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a little ribbon and some white flowers and then popped the whole panel up on foam tape over a fold white card base.

Well this is the last stop on today's hop, from here it's back to the Flourishes Blog!  I hope you've enjoyed jetting around the world and been inspired by our wonderful team!

Princess Birthday Hop!

Today is a special day for the Flourishes Family to celebrate our Birthday Girl - Julie Koerber!  And Julie is definitely worth celebrating!  She’s the right hand on so many levels of what’s beautiful about Flourishes, and we’re so grateful for her and blessed to also call this lovely lady friend.

This summer a number of the Flourishes Senior Design Team girls gathered for a weekend in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a fantastic time of fun!  One of the great things some of the girls did was go Whitewater Rafting.  Because there were family members along, Julie graciously said she’d sit in the middle of the raft so the kids could get the most out of the experience.  The raft guide however thought that would be a fun opportunity to tease Julie about her “Princess" status.  She gracefully took it and we love to tease her about it - and so the idea for this Princess Birthday Hop was born!  Julie we love you and your fun, spunky spirit, and also the warmth and grace you live your life with!  Happy Birthday from all of us at Flourishes!

We invite you to hop along today with many of our Flourishes Family to see our pretty Princess and Birthday inspiration, and join in on our wishes for Julie!

Julie, my dear, sweet friend - Happy Birthday!!  May today bring you joy and laughter and the year ahead be filled with fun and adventures!!

I've used Flourishes' Make a Wish stamp set and I've coloured it with Copics using the Flourishes' Creamy Collection, Lenten Rose Collection, Sunflower and Candy Pink Collections.  The image has been cut with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with pink and vanilla card cut with Captivating Squares Nestabilities.  The sentiment has been stamped in Tuxedo Black and cut with 5x7 Detailed Scallops Nestabilities.  While still in the die, I've added a little colour with Copic E50.  Add plenty of pink, pretty paper and a bit of bling and you have a card fit for a Princess!!  :)

Stamps - Make a Wish (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Vintage Pink and Mauve Ice Bazzill, Very Vanilla, FabScraps Chic Pink DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Small Circle, Captivating Squares and 5x7 Detailed Scallops Nestabilities, Pink Ribbon, Rhinestone Flourish, X-press It Foam Tape.

Comment along the way and you could be entered to win any Birthday set of your choice from the Flourishes Store!  Winners will be chosen and announced on Saturday November 23rd on the Flourishes Blog.

And don’t forgot to drop by Julie’s place to send her your Happy Birthday wishes too!

Dahlias

Hello Everyone!  It's the second Monday of the month and that means there is another Copic Tutorial on the Flourishes Blog!  Today I'm showing how I coloured these beautiful dahlias from Flourishes' Dahlias stamp set.  The fabulous thing about dahlias is that they come in a HUGE range of colours, so try colouring them in pinks, purples, reds, yellows etc... so much fun!

You can find the Copic details on the Flourishes Blog HERE!  For the actual card, I've used a base of Old Olive and layered with white cut with Spellbinders A2 Scallop Borders One and topped with Summer Breeze DP also cut with A2 Scallop Borders One.  Next I've added a strip of white topped with more Summer Breeze DP and then added white and orange ribbons.  The main panel is white cut with Flourishes' Perfectly Pierced Classic Window Die and airbrushed it with Y32 Copic while still in the die.  Next I've stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black in the corner and added a rhinestone flourish down one side.  The Dahlias have been stamped with Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics (see the Flourishes Blog for Details!) and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a fun bow topped with a button.

Stamps - Dahlias (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Old Olive, White, Kaisercraft Summer Breeze DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Window Die, Spellbinders A2 Scallop Borders One Die, White Ribbon, Orange Ribbon, Bow Easy, Button, Twine, Rhinestone Flourish, Scissors, Foam Tape.

Wedding Day

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card is a special one that I made on behalf of my daughter's Prep class (Prep is the school year before Grade One here in Australia) for our wonderful teacher Liz who was married on Friday!  We presented this to her a few days before the wedding in front of the whole class along with a gift - she was so surprised!  :)

This is a big card measuring 5 inches x 7 inches.....but when you have 24 Prep children aged 5 and 6yrs having to write inside, it's still not big enough!!  So one thing I like to do when I lot of people have to sign a card is slip in several sheets of writing paper cut to size and tied with a piece of gold or silver cord.

I've used a base of Very Vanilla and layered with kraft and then more vanilla.  Next I've taken a piece of Soft Sky card cut with Spellbinders Exquisite Labels Eleven - I've used soft blues and greens since this is the colour palette for the Wedding.  Next is another piece of Vanilla cut with Grand Labels Four and layered with blue cut with 5x7 Elegant Labels Four.  Next is another piece of kraft cut with Labels Four topped with vanilla (sponged with Memento Summer Sky ink) cut with Lacey Oval Nestabilities.  Finally I've stamped the bride and groom image from Flourishes' Wedded Bliss stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto vanilla and cut it with Opulent Ovals Nestabilities.  Whew!  Yep, it's a lot of layers!!  :)  I've attached a blue ribbon, added some pretty ivory pleated trim from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and stamped the sentiment (also from Wedded Bliss) onto vanilla card.  It's been cut out with Spellbinders Labels 33 and sponged with Summer Sky ink.  The top corner is embellished with Prima Flowers and leaves, a couple of die cuts made of vanilla and Spellbinders Botanical Swirls and Accents and finally added a couple of  ivory pearls to the top and bottom corners.

Stamps - Wedded Bliss (Flourishes)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Kraft
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Summer Sky
Accessories - Spellbinders Exquisite Labels 11, Grand Labels 4, 5x7 Elegant Labels 4, Labels 4, Lacey Oval Nestabilities, Opulent Ovals Nestabilities, Labels 33, Botanical Swirls and Accents Shapeabilities, Ivory Pleated Trim, Blue Ribbon, Bow Easy, Prima Flowers and Leaves, Ivory Pearls.

Today our lovely hostess is the incredibly talented Bridget who has inspired us to go Off The Page!!  Since Christmas is only just around the corner, I've decided to make an ornament for our tree!  :)

I've used Sweets of the Season for my image and sentiment because those canes are just too cute!  The candy canes have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto blending card and then fussy cut.  The sentiment has been stamped and then cut out with Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass Die.  To create the ornament I've cut some green with Spellbinders Tear Drops Circles die, matted with white cut with Stately Circles die,  matted with a rosette made with Bo Bunny DP and then finally matted with white cut with Delicate Doilies Die.  I've attached the red ribbon to the back of the ornament and secured it with a circle of white on the back.

The next destination on the tour today is.......SLOVENIA!!!

I've used two Flourishes sets for my card today - Garden Gate and Inside and Out Hello!  I've used a base of cream card and layered with teal card cut with Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.  The next two layers have also been cut with Resplendent Rectangles using more cream and some subtle DP.  I've used my Silhouette Cameo and cut a piece of blending card using the Garden Gate Silhouette Cut File.  I've then stamped the floral image from Garden Gate in Memento Tuxedo Black (it's easier to do while the cut out is still on the Silhouette sticky mat) and then coloured it with Copic Markers using The Pistachio Collection, The Candy Pink Collection and The Sunflower Collection.  I've popped it up on foam tape and stamped the sentiment from Inside and Out Hello as shown.

Cupcake Toppers!

Hello Everyone!!  I recently make some fun Cupcake Toppers for the Copic Oz Blog with step by step pics on how I've coloured the ice-cream cones.  Around this time of year I always seem to be making cupcakes for some sort of party and some fabby toppers just squeal fun times don't you think??

For a quick and basic topper, try gathering these materials....

Or how about creating something more eye-catching by gathering these materials.....

Simply glue the layers together with a good strong glue (I use X-press It Clear Gel Glue) for each topper making sure that the sticks are glued between the layers for stability.  The construction is super easy and your toppers are sure to have your guests talking!

Stamps - Pinwheels and Popsicles (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, White, Chocolate Chip
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Various Spellbinders Shapes, Toothpick, Popstick, X-press It Clear Gel Glue, Cupcakes!

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp.

Beautiful World Postcard

Hello Everyone!!  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!!!  Come journey with us, visiting our wonderful design team from all over the globe!!  If you've landed here from England (Sasha's Blog) then you've come to the right place!!  If you've popped by from elsewhere, you might want to start back at Flourishes HQ so you don't miss any of the fabulous inspiration along the way.

Today our hostess is Aleksandra and she has challenged us to create a POSTCARD!  Oh My Goodness, didn't this one challenge me!!!  I have to say I really struggled, but decided to be inspired by the most Easterly Point of Australia's Mainland - Cape Byron, which is only a few hours drive from where I live.  At Cape Byron, there is a white lighthouse looking over the sea and I remember visiting there when I was about 12yrs old.  :)

I've used a base of white and layered with aqua cut with Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight.  I've cut a piece of blending card with Large Oval Nestabilities and stamped the lighthouse from Flourishes' A Guiding Light stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I've coloured it with Copics (The Emerald Coast, Water, Pistachio, Cool Neutrals and Rich Browns Collections) and matted it with green card cut with Large Scallop Oval Nestabilities.  The sentiment is also from A Guiding Light, stamped in Tuxedo Black and cut with Small Oval Nestabilities.

Stamps - A Guiding Light (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, White, Aqua, Green
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight, Small, Large and Large Scallop Nestabilities.

Happy Father's Day

Hello Everyone!!!  Today is the first Sunday in September and that means it is Father's Day here in Australia!  To all the Dad's out there - wishing you a very happy day!!  This card is one I've made for my Dad, done mostly in blues since that's his favourite colour and the sentiment is a little tongue in cheek, but I know it will make him laugh.  You see I'm short......really short, and Dad is way taller than I am, but it wouldn't matter even if I towered over him, I would always look up to him.  Dad, you're the best, I love you and have an awesome day!!  BIG HUGS!!!

For my card I've used a base of Pacific Point and layered with white and Chocolate Chip which has been punched with a scallop border punch across the bottom.  Next I've taken two pieces of Echo Park Happy Days DP (which is kind of fun and retro - bit like us hey Dad! ;-)  LOL!) and added them to the top and bottom.  Then I've taken another piece of DP from the same paper pad, matted it with more Chocolate Chip and put it across the middle.  I've stamped the sentiment from Flourishes' Father's Day set on this panel.  The silhouette is also from Father's Day and has been stamped in Memento Danube Blue and cut out with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with more Pacific Point cut with Large Circle Nestabilities.  To finish I've added a couple of Chocolate Pearls to the bottom corner.

Stamps - Father's Day (Flourishes)
Paper - Pacific Point, White, Chocolate Chip, Echo Park Happy Days DP
Ink - Memento Danube Blue, Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Border Punch, Chocolate Pearls.

A Faux Living Card

Hello Everyone! Today I have a tutorial over on the Copic Oz Blog on how to construct a Faux Living Card!  Have you seen a Living Card before?  They are bought from Florists and have a plant or flowers inside.  They look a little something like this....
I don't know about you, but most plant life don't seem to last long in my house!  So, using this idea as inspiration, I've created a card, complete with a wide spine and an image full of interest and dimension.
You can find the details and list of Copic colours used on the Copic Oz Blog!

Thanks for visting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

Colourful Zinnias

Hello Everyone!!  Today I have a Copic Tutorial over on the Flourishes Blog showing how to colour this China Vase and beautiful Zinnias!  I really love this image, it's just so bright and happy!  :)  You can find all the details about the colours I've used on the Flourishes Blog!

To create the card, I've used a base of pink and layered with white, Old Olive and Kaisercraft Tigerlilly DP.  Across this is a piece of Olive that has been punched with Woodland Branch and topped with more Tigerlilly DP.  Over this is a piece of white crochet lace topped with pink satin ribbon.  The image is from Flourishes' Zinnias stamp set and has been coloured with Copics (see the Flourishes Blog for details) and cut with Spellbinders Adorning Squares die set.  I've used the largest of the same die to cut a piece of Olive behind the image and then popped it up on foam tape.  I've stamped the sentiment from the same set and cut it out with Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass Die and attached it to the bottom of the image. To finish I've added a bow and pearls to the corners.

BWT - Flowers of Our Country!

Hello Everyone!!  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!!  If you've arrived here from Dina's Blog then you are in the right place!!  If you've landed here by chance, you've missed all the fun!  Why not start back at the Flourishes Blog so you don't miss any of the gorgeous inspiration the team have for you today!

This month Naomi has challenged us to make a card using a flower that represents your country.  Well this was a no-brainer for me....of course I was going to choose The Golden Wattle, the National Floral Emblem of Australia!!  This fragrant fluffy golden orb blooms in Winter during July and August, which means it's flowering right now.  :)
I've used a base of green card and layered with chocolate and a piece of Kaisercraft Great Southern Land DP.  Down one side I've added another piece of Great Southern Land DP (and yes, those are wattle flowers on there too!) and matted it with chocolate that has been punched with Woodland Branch border punch.  Over this I've attached a piece of green ribbon.  The Golden Wattle from Flourishes' Bloomin' Aussie Florals stamp set has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto blending card and coloured with Copics (The Daffodil Collection and The Leaf Green Collection).  It's been cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with green card cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities and then popped up on foam tape.  The sentiment is also from Bloomin' Aussie Florals and has been cut with Flourishes' Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglass Die and glued to the bottom of the image panel. To finish I've added a bow and a couple of pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Bloomin' Aussie Florals (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Kaisercraft Great Southern Land DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Flourishes Perfectly Pierced Classic Hourglas Die Set, Large Circle and Lacey Circle Nestabilities, Woodland Branch Border Punch, Green Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Lemon Pearls, Foam Tape.

This is the last destination on today's Beautiful World Tour.  We hope you've enjoyed today's hop and don't forget to comment for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice!!  :)

Sending Love

Hello Everyone!!  Today I have another Copic Tutorial on the Flourishes Blog and this time I'm colouring this beautiful branch of flowers from Flourishes Garden Gate stamp set!  For all the details on Copic Colours, pop on over to the Flourishes Blog!!  :)

For the card construction, I've created my base using Very Vanilla and Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities.  I've actually airbrushed a little R12 into the middle while it was still in the die to soften the edges.  I've then used the next die in the set to cut a piece of Kaisercraft Remember Me DP and attached it to the front.  The oval is constructed with some peachy card (I have a feeling it might be some Groovy Guava that I found in Mt Scrap on my desk!) that has been cut with Floral Oval Nestabilities.  I've layered with Chocolate Chip cut with Opulent Ovals Nestabilities and then Very Vanilla cut with Classic Oval Large Nestabilities.  The lattice is created with more of the peach card cut with the Spellbinders 'Lattice' die and then I've die cut that with the same Large Oval Nestabilities die that I used earlier.  I've taken the flowers that I've cut and coloured (see the Flourishes Blog for details) and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've stamped the sentiment from Spring Blossoms in Memento Rich Cocoa and cut into into a notched tag and attached as shown.

Stamps - Garden Gate, Spring Blossoms (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Very Vanilla, Peach Card (Groovy Guava?), Chocolate Chip, Kaisercraft Remember Me DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders: Resplendent Rectangles, Floral Ovals, Opulent Ovals, Classic Oval Large Nestabilities, Lattice; Ribbon, Foam Tape, Scissors.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

BWT - Citrus in July

Hello Everyone and welcome to the July Beautiful World Tour!!  If you've jetted in from Meredith's Blog then you are in the right place, if not you may want to start back at the Flourishes Blog!  Today our hostess is Sasha and she's challenged us to use Citrus colours in our projects!  I know it's Summer in many parts of the world and that it is Citrus season for them, but did you know that although it is Winter here in Australia, that it is Citrus time here too??  It's usually around the beginning of May (late Autumn here) that the mandarins start popping up in stores and then citrus fruits continue through Winter.  Keep in mind, in our part of the world it never snows and even in the middle of winter most of the trees are green!  :)

I've used the Flourishes Garden Gate stamp set for my Citrus themed card being inspired by the colours of Lemons, Limes and Oranges!  I've used a base of Old Olive and layered with yellow, white and Summer Breeze DP.  Across this is another piece of Old Olive punched with Woodland Branch border punch and topped with more Summer Breeze DP.  Around this I've added a piece of Solid Wrinkled White ribbon.  I've stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black on blending card and coloured with a variety of Copic markers from the Olive GreenBurnt Orange, Daffodil, Cool Neutrals and Terra Cotta Collections.  I've cut this into a square and matted with Old Olive and yellow cut with Fleur De Lis Squares Nestabilities.  I've added a small pearl flourish to the top corner, a double bow to the ribbon and stamped the sentiment from Garden Gate, cut with Classic Oval Large Nestabilities and popped it up on foam tape.
