Sunflowers!

Hello Everyone!!  Today the JustRite team have some exciting news for you!!!  Want to know more?  You'll have to pop over to the JustRite Papercraft Blog for the big announcement!  :)  Today is also Day One of the October Release Week, so it's party time here at JR!  :)

Today we are showcasing two new sets, Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five Cling Set, Moroccan Lattice Background Cling Stamp and JustRite Vintage Labels Five Dies.
I've used all three of these new stamps/dies for my creation today!  I've used a base of Baja Breeze, layered with Chocolate Chip and some Graphic 45 DP.  The paper has a light dot patten all over it and then I've stamped the Moroccan Lattice Background Cling stamp over it in Memento Rich Cocoa.  Down one side I've attached a wide piece of ivory ribbon.  The sunflower label is from Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five Cling Set and has been stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  It's then been cut out with Vintage Labels Five Dies, matted with Chocolate Chip cut with Spellbinders Floral Oval Nestabilities and matted again with Baja Breeze cut with the largest die from Vintage Labels Five Dies.  This has been adhered to the middle and then I've finished by adding a bow and button.

Stamps - Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five Cling Set, Moroccan Lattice Background Cling Stamp (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Graphic 45 DP

Blue Ribbon

Hello Everyone!  I don't normally delve too much into serious or personal stuff on my blog, however today I'm going to do both.  As we all know, next month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are all gearing up for all the Pink Ribbon fever that will be happening in and out of the papercraft world, however, did you know that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month which is represented with a Blue Ribbon?

I have to admit I knew about Prostate Cancer, but really wasn't sure of the month or the ribbon.....until I got the news at the beginning of September that my Dad had been diagnosed with it.  I can tell you I was shattered, scared and very upset as we waited for the next test to see if it had spread to other parts of his body.  I just couldn't believe it - not my Dad, I guess all kids think their Dad is bullet proof and mine in particular has had more accidents and close calls than anyone I know and lived to tell the tale.  It was a long week as we waited and was so relieved to hear that it was contained, found early and operable.  So, come October 14th, he'll be going in for surgery to have it removed.  This is no easy operation and will take a long, long time to recover - but he will recover and this is not going to be the death sentence we first feared.

Did you know that in Australia alone more men die of Prostate Cancer each year than women from Breast Cancer?  Or that 20,000 cases are diagnosed each year just in Australia?  ONE in NINE men will develop this cancer as some stage of their lives and each day 34 (in Australia) get told the news that they have it.

So this year, please remember those fighting the 'Men's Cancer', someone's father, brother, son, uncle, friend will need your thoughts and prayers.

Hello Everyone!  Today over on the Copic Oz Blog, I've got a tutorial on how to colour the skin and hair of this gorgeous stamp using your Copics!  She's part of a stamp set by Flourishes called Glamour Girls and it's such fun to colour!!

For the card basics, I've used a base of black and layered with white and a piece of MME Hattie DP.  Down the side I've attached a piece of white ribbon and layered with blue ribbon.  I've stamped my Glamour Girls image and sentiment stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (see the Copic Oz Blog for details) and then cut her out with Spellbinders Labels 28.  It's been matted with black cut with Decorative Labels 28 and popped up on X-press It High Tac Foam Tape.  To finish I've added a blue bow and a couple of pearls to the corner.

Frog and Water Lily

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card was such a fun one to play with and colour!!  I've used a new set by JustRite Papercraft called Frog and Water Lily Clear set!

I've used a base of red and layered with white and some MME Gnome Sweet Gnome DP.  Across this I've added another strip of red punched with the Woodland Branch Border punch and topped it with more Gnome Sweet Gnome DP.  Over this I've attached a piece of white ribbon.  Next I've stamped the frog from Frog and Water Lily in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and then stamped another onto scrap paper to create a mask.  I've placed the mask over the frog and then stamped the mushroom and coloured it all with Copics.  It's been cut out with Circle Nestabilities and matted with Old Olive cut with Stately Circles Nestabilities.  The sentiment is also from Frog and Water Lily and has been stamped and cut into a notched tag and placed between the two circle layers.  I've popped the circle up on X-press It Foam Tape and added a couple of buttons as shown.

Grand Birthday Sentiments

Hello Everyone!  Today's card has been made with one of the new sets by JustRite Papercraft called Grand Birthday Sentiments!  This is a cling set of 6 large sentiments made of red rubber which would be perfect for all those special birthdays!
I've actually made this particular card for my grandfather who is celebrating his 95th Birthday this Saturday!  His favourite colour is green, so as you can see, I've made that the feature colour.  To my very special 'Fella' - Happy Birthday, I love you!!!  :)

I began with a piece of Old Olive card, cut the end using A2 Curved Borders One dies and then folded the card in half.  I've then taken two pieces of white card, cut one with A2 Curved Borders One and the other I've stamped with JustRite Papercrafts' Garden Gate Background cling stamp in Memento Bamboo Leaves and then also cut it with A2 Curved Borders One.  Around these two layers I've attached a piece of May Arts Green Satin Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Grand Birthday Sentiments and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with mustard card cut with Spellbinders' Stately Circles die and then popped it up on X-press It High Tac Foam Tape.  To finish I thought I'd add a piece of white on the inside of the card and then added this sweet XOX sentiment from JustRite Papercrafts' Hugs and Kisses Sentiments clear stamp set.

Stamps - Grand Birthday Sentiments, Garden Gate Background, Hugs and Kisses Sentiments
Paper - Old Olive, White, Mustard
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Bamboo Leaves
Accessories - Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One, Large Circle Nestabilities, Stately Circles Nestabilities, May Arts Green Satin Ribbon, X-press It High Tac Foam Tape.

Filigree Leaves

Hello Everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the JustRite Papercraft September Release!  Today we are showcasing two sets designed by our very own Becca Feeken, Filigree Leaves and What I Like About You!

I've created the base using Spellbinders' Romantic Rectangles and purple bazzill and then layered with white.  Next I've taken another piece of white, stamped Filigree Leaves in Versamark ink and clear embossed and then created the background using Pistachio, Lavender and Grape Gelatos from the Gelatos Colors Gift Set.  I've added a rhinestone flourish and around all of this I've attached a piece of purple silk ribbon.  The sentiment is from What I Like About You and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with Fancy Labels Two Shapeabilities.  While it was still in the die, I've lightly airbrushed with V01 Copic Marker and then popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a purple and vellum butterfly cut with Spellbinders Wonderful Wings Shapeabilities.

Stamps - Filigree Leaves, What I Like About You (JustRite Papercraft)
Paper - White, Purple Bazzill
Ink - Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black

Beautiful World Postcard

Hello Everyone!!  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!!!  Come journey with us, visiting our wonderful design team from all over the globe!!  If you've landed here from England (Sasha's Blog) then you've come to the right place!!  If you've popped by from elsewhere, you might want to start back at Flourishes HQ so you don't miss any of the fabulous inspiration along the way.

Today our hostess is Aleksandra and she has challenged us to create a POSTCARD!  Oh My Goodness, didn't this one challenge me!!!  I have to say I really struggled, but decided to be inspired by the most Easterly Point of Australia's Mainland - Cape Byron, which is only a few hours drive from where I live.  At Cape Byron, there is a white lighthouse looking over the sea and I remember visiting there when I was about 12yrs old.  :)

I've used a base of white and layered with aqua cut with Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight.  I've cut a piece of blending card with Large Oval Nestabilities and stamped the lighthouse from Flourishes' A Guiding Light stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I've coloured it with Copics (The Emerald Coast, Water, Pistachio, Cool Neutrals and Rich Browns Collections) and matted it with green card cut with Large Scallop Oval Nestabilities.  The sentiment is also from A Guiding Light, stamped in Tuxedo Black and cut with Small Oval Nestabilities.

Stamps - A Guiding Light (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, White, Aqua, Green
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Filigree Delight, Small, Large and Large Scallop Nestabilities.

The next destination on today's tour around the world is.......NORTHERN IRELAND!!!

Thanks for visiting today and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Happy Father's Day

Hello Everyone!!!  Today is the first Sunday in September and that means it is Father's Day here in Australia!  To all the Dad's out there - wishing you a very happy day!!  This card is one I've made for my Dad, done mostly in blues since that's his favourite colour and the sentiment is a little tongue in cheek, but I know it will make him laugh.  You see I'm short......really short, and Dad is way taller than I am, but it wouldn't matter even if I towered over him, I would always look up to him.  Dad, you're the best, I love you and have an awesome day!!  BIG HUGS!!!

For my card I've used a base of Pacific Point and layered with white and Chocolate Chip which has been punched with a scallop border punch across the bottom.  Next I've taken two pieces of Echo Park Happy Days DP (which is kind of fun and retro - bit like us hey Dad! ;-)  LOL!) and added them to the top and bottom.  Then I've taken another piece of DP from the same paper pad, matted it with more Chocolate Chip and put it across the middle.  I've stamped the sentiment from Flourishes' Father's Day set on this panel.  The silhouette is also from Father's Day and has been stamped in Memento Danube Blue and cut out with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with more Pacific Point cut with Large Circle Nestabilities.  To finish I've added a couple of Chocolate Pearls to the bottom corner.

Stamps - Father's Day (Flourishes)
Paper - Pacific Point, White, Chocolate Chip, Echo Park Happy Days DP
Ink - Memento Danube Blue, Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, Scallop Border Punch, Chocolate Pearls.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)
