Sweet Pea Show!

Hello Everyone!!  I have something 'sweet' for you today......Sweet Peas that is!!  Let me introduce you to the latest offering from Power Poppy called Sweet Pea Show!!  This is a new digi stamp and I've been playing with it a little to create my card using just the edges of the image.  You can see the full image below!  It also comes with three sentiments!

http://powerpoppy.com/collections/digital-stamps/products/sweet-pea-show

I've opened the Sweet Pea Show digi image in photoshop elements and then used just the tops of the image to create a frame/border leaving a space to place the sentiment.  Once I was happy with it, I've printed it out and then set to colouring with my Copics! (I've used - V000, V01, V12, V15, V17, V20, V22, V25, V28, BV17, G43, G46, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44)

I've cut a base of Baked Brown Sugar and layered with some light purple Bazzill and then cut the image to size to place on top.  I've also printed out the sentiment from Sweet Pea Show and die cut it, airbrushing with Copic V20 while it was still in the die and then popped it up on foam tape as shown.  To finish I've added a few Kaisercraft pearls.

Stamps - Sweet Pea Show (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Baked Brown Sugar, Purple Bazzill
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, ODBD Layered Lacey Ovals Dies, Kaisercraft Pearls, X-press It Foam Tape

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!  :)

Look Back Time!

Hello Everyone!!  Today we are having a look back at the Our Daily Bread Designs January Release and I have TWO projects for you!  The first is a 3D basket made with the TOTALLY ADORABLE Bountiful Basket Die Set and the new Paper Pad called Plum Pizzaz!!  Ooooooh I love this die, it is so much fun!!  The second is a project using His Timing stamp which you could use for cards, bible journaling or even bookmarks.

Because I have two projects I will try and keep it short and sweet!  I've made the basket base of white and layered with the Plum Pizzaz Paper Pad.  Glue all the bits today and construct!  For my big frilly flower, I've used Pretty Posies Dies, cutting the largest and smallest layers out of pink and the middle layer out of Plum Pizzaz to match the basket.  The centre is cut out of River Rock.  I've glued this together and shaped them to give some dimension.  I've then cut two leaves using Pretty Posies and two viney bits from Leaves and Branches out of green and attached it all as shown.

Stamps - NONE (gasp!)
Paper - Plum Pizzaz Collection, White, Pink, River Rock, Green
Ink - NONE
Accessories - ODBD Bountiful Basket Die, Pretty Posies Dies, Leaves and Branches Dies

My next project is using His Timing.  When this stamp set arrived it was so perfect - I had just had a fall and broken my ankle, I was stressed (no income because I wasn't allowed back at work on crutches and as a casual staff member, no holiday or sick pay), my son was about to have his Primary School Graduation (I attended in a wheelchair), my Grandfather had just died and I was grieving, my Dad just had surgery, Christmas was coming (how on earth could I get the shopping done??) and I was IN PAIN.  Why???  Why did this happen and WHY NOW???  It took me a while to realise that I *had* to take time off and by forcing me to stop, I also had time to recharge and take more time to really spend more time with my family, who for once had to look after me, and the shopping, and the cleaning and the cooking and the ironing......well you get the idea.  Sometimes no matter how horrible things may seem, look for that silver lining, there is a reason for His Timing - even if you never find out.....

For the card I've used a base of cream and layered with River Rock and some Whimsical Wildflowers Collection paper.  Down one side I've added a dark ivory ribbon.  The His Timing image has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and I've added a little colour and then cut it into a rectangle and matted with soft purple bazzill.  I've used Bitty Blossoms Dies to create the leaves and flowers (I can't get enough of these dies!!), attached as shown and then added rhinestones to each centre.

A Bountiful Basket of Fun

Hello Everyone!!!  I've been playing with some REALLY FUN new toys recently.......Bountiful Basket and Sewing Dies by Our Daily Bread Designs!!  I love little 3D projects and I just don't make them enough and then this adorable basket die came to live at my house and I was really hooked!

http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com/bountiful-basket-die.html

It's really very easy - the Bountiful Basket die set comes with all the pieces you need - cut two of the larger pieces, two circles and two (larger) handles out of your base card (the first time I only cut one handle and then realised when I was trying to construct it......yeah, I face palmed too!).  Next cut two triangles, two smaller handles and two square and rectangles (I actually cut an extra pair of the smaller rectangles as well).  For my project I used Shabby Rose Collection for the pretty, lacey type paper.  Once you adhere all the decorative panels onto their matching parts, simply fold the basket up and glue (High Tack Double Sided Tape is really good) into place and then attach the circles (folded in half - if you are like me, you'll score the centre first) and the handles.

The sentiment is from Woodpecker, stamped in black Versafine ink and then cut with Vintage Labels.  While still in the die, I airbrushed it with Copic BG11 to try and get it to match the paper.  I've then cut many pieces of coloured card using the Sewing Dies (thread spools, buttons and a needle) - I've cut two pieces to make the coloured centred spools and decorated the sentiment panel and also make some little notecards for the inside of the basket.

Stamps - Woodpecker (Our Daily Bread Designs)
Paper - Shabby Rose Collection, Cream, White, Pink, Purple, Aqua, Grey
Ink - Black Versafine
Accessories - ODBD Bountiful Basket Dies, Sewing Dies, Vintage Labels Dies, Glue, X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape

That's all from me today - I think I need to make another basket so keep a look out in upcoming posts!!  Hope you are inspired to stamp.....and DIE CUT!!  :)

January Power and Spark!

Hello Everyone!!!  Have you been waiting for the first Power and Spark Challenge for 2017?? Well the wait is OVER!!  Our lovely hostess this month is Stacy and she has a super easy one to kick of the year........WINTER BLOOMS!  If you live in the Northern Hemisphere and craving a little colour in your day then this challenge is for you!!  If you are like me and live in the Southern Hemisphere where it is the middle of Summer, let those colours burst into full bloom (or perhaps it's a heatwave and you're locked inside with the aircon on trying not to melt pretending that it's actually cooler..... come on Aussies, you know what I'm talking about!!!).

You don't have any Winter Blooms??  CLICK HERE for a link through to an abundance of sets to choose from!  Did you know that if you play along with us this month you can WIN a Power Poppy Stamp Set of YOUR CHOICE!!!  How awesome is that?!  You can find all the details on the Power Poppy Blog!

In Stacy's words.......When winter comes, many of us long to say goodbye to the chill and say hello to those cheerful and fresh spring flowers! Did you know there are lots of blooms that sprout at the end of winter (you can cheat and include early spring as well)? How about camellias, crocus, paperwhites, holly, snowdrops, or poinsettias? Let's see how you can bring these pretty little petals and glorious greens to life and enjoy this last bit of winter as well!

Today I've used Bloomin' Wonderful and stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (B60, B63, B66, Y21, YR30, YR31, C1, W1, E84, E87).  I've cut this into a rectangle, matted with River Rock and framed with Wisteria Wonder cut with 5x7 Detailed Scallops.  The card is made of white, Wisteria Wonder, Graphic 45 DP and some dark cream May Arts Ribbon.  I've attached the image to the front and then stamped the sentiment, also from Bloomin' Wonderful, cut it out with a circle punch and popped it up on foam tape.  SIDE NOTE: I *was* going to add some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the corners, but the bottle exploded as a squeezed it......seriously it went EVERYWHERE!!!  I tried to rescue it back into the bottle, but it was a disaster - paint was all over my work space, up my arms, all over my clothes.....everywhere!!  THANK GOODNESS it missed my card or I would have a heart attack.  Once I cleaned up the mess (with the help of Mr 11yrs), I decided to play it safe and reached for Kaisercraft pearls to finish off instead!  :P

I wonder if the other Bloomies have had crazy adventures this week like I have??  Better pop by and have a look!

Happy New Year!

Hello Everyone and a big Happy New Year to you all!!  I don't know about you, but 2016 wasn't exactly the best for me, so I'm hoping that the coming year will be better!  Since it is the 1st of the month, that means it is also time to announce a new ODBD release!  The January release is lots of fun with stamps and dies galore and a little bible journaling too!  Today I'm showcasing a single stamp called His Timing which could be used on cards, for bible journaling or even bookmarks! I'm also using a pretty new paper pad called Whimsical Wildflowers Collection  and some beautiful dies, Bitty Blossoms and Leaves and Branches!

Don't forget there are prizes to be WON!!  Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 Gift Code to the ODBD Website  just for commenting on the Design Team cards!  You have until January 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. USA EST to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on January 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

I've used a base of purple bazzill and layered with River Rock and Very Vanilla cut with Double Stitched Rectangles and then topped with Whimsical Wildflower Collection paper.  I've then cut a piece of So Saffron with Double Stitched Rectangles and offset it on the front of the card.  I've stamped the His Timing image in Rich Cocoa ink onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (Y21, Y26, Y000, V20, V15, V12, YG61).  I've fussy cut this and then I've stamped it again and only coloured the clocks and then cut them out and popped them up on foam tape for a bit of dimension!  Then came the flowers!  Didn't I have fun with those!!  I've used Bitty Blossoms to die cut all the flowers and the single leaves using all the card scraps from the card construction.  I've also used Leaves and Branches for the long leafy stems.  To finish I've added pearls to the centres of all the flowers.

Here's a side view.....
