FS224 Missing You

Hello Everyone!!  It's been a loooooong time since I did the Featured Stamper challenge, so it was great to get back for one this week!  This week it's Carly (aka Paperinbloom), who has a very CAS style.  I did try to go more CAS, but I am who I am and this is how it turned out!  :)  I chose her Wishing You card, keeping the same colours and basic layout and floral theme, adding a few more layers, DP and some texture.

I actually started by stamping the Orchids by Flourishes in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and colouring with Copics (V01, V12, V04, V05, V09, C3, G82, G85, 0) then cutting it out with scissors and scalpel.  The base is made of black, Old Olive and Cottage Wall DP.  Around this I added some white crochet lace.  I couldn't find any ribbon to match my Orchids (and anyone who has seen my ribbon collection would be shocked to hear that!), so I grabbed some white satin ribbon and coloured it with a V12 Copic Marker and added it to the top of the crochet.  The next panel is made of white and a piece of black that I've embossed with the Victoria EF and then popped it up on foam tape.  Next I popped the Orchids up, also on foam tape.  Finally I stamped the sentiment and cut it out into a notched tag and secured it with a bow.

Stamps - Orchids, Tag Lines (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Black, White, Old Olive, SU Cottage Wall DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Victoria EF, White Crochet Lace, White Satin Ribbon, Scissors, Scalpel, Bow Easy, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are Inspired to Stamp!!  :)

Happy Birthday Ben!

Hello Everyone!!  Today my little dude turns 6yrs old!!  How time flies!  He's still at that age where he goes running around the house making weird noises like a dinosaur.....on more than one occasion I have called him Benosaurus!!  :)  So, when I had to make a card for his birthday, I chose this super cute image by My Favorite Things called Little Loveosaurus.  :)  Appropriate don't you think??  I tried to follow this week's MFT sketch, but I think it morphed into something else.

Anyway, the base is made of Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, White (pierced) and three pieces of Kaisercraft Jungle Bug DP.  Around this I've knotted some brown grosgrain ribbon and added a Pumpkin Pie star over the top.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (G12, G40, G82, G85, G99, E000, E01, E40, Y21), then cut it out and popped it up on foam tape.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the same set and created a notched tag across the bottom and finished with a couple of orange buttons knotted with twine.

Stamps - Little Loveosaurus (MFT)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, White, Kaisercraft Jungle Bug DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Star Nestabilities, Brown Grosgrain Ribbon, Orange Buttons, Twine, Scissors, Foam Tape, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Books and Daisies

Hello Everyone!!  Today I'm playing along with the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge, which is an inspiration challenge.  I guess I was inspired by the green pot and the flowers and this is what I ended up with.  :)

I stamped the books and daisies image from Flourishes' From The Desk Of set - love this cute image and such a good size too - in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (G40, G82, G85, BG0000, BG000, G24, G28, Y35, Y38, YR24, E35).  It was cut with Large Rectangle Nestabilities and then I cut a mat of yellow (since I don't own small rectangle nestabilities).  I framed this with Old Olive cut with the Fleur de Lis Rectangle Nestabilities. The base is constructed of Old Olive, White and Modern Homemaker DP.  Across this I added a piece of white cut with the MS Iron Gate punch and topped with more Modern Homemaker DP.  Across these I've added some White Crochet Lace and popped up my image over the top with foam tape.  Next I've stamped the sentiment from Orchids in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut it out with Oval Nestabilities.  To finish I added a few Kaisercraft clear rhinestones.

Stamps - From the Desk Of, Orchids (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Old Olive, White, October Afternoon Modern Homemaker DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Large Oval, Large Rectangle and Fleur de Lis Rectangle Nestabilities, White Crochet Lace, MS Iron Gate Punch, Kaisercraft Clear Rhinestones, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are Inspired to Stamp!!  :)

Orchids

Hello Everyone!!  Today I was playing with a few new things - the Orchids stamp set by Flourishes (how pretty is this!!), the RV90's markers (care of my buddy Nat), purple button (care of my sweet friend Kris) and this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!  I've been a bit mojoless lately, so I was hoping the playing with new things might spark something!!  :)

I started with the Orchids, stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and colouring with Copics (RV91, RV93, RV95, RV99 {a little tip-to-tip}, G40, G82, G85, G99, C1, C3, BG0000, BG000, Y13, Y15, W1, 0).  It was cut out with Large Oval Nestabilities and matted with some Vintage Pink Bazzill cut with Beaded Oval Nestabilities.  I followed this week's sketch and constructed my base of vintage pink, white and some Kioshi paper that I found deep in my stash.  Across the bottom I added another piece of Kioshi and matted it with white, punched on one side with a scallop punch.  Around this I attached some white satin ribbon and topped it with a bow, purple button and some silver cord.  Finally I added my orchids image by popping it up on foam tape.
Stamps - Orchids (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Vintage Pink Bazzill, White, Basic Grey Kioshi DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Large Oval and Beaded Oval Nestabilities, White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Purple Button, Silver Cord, SU Scallop Punch, Foam Tape.

Karate Boy

Hello Everyone!!  I actually made this card last week for my nephew's birthday....he turned 8!!  He's a red belt in Karate, so when I saw this digi stamp at The Greeting Farm, I knew it would be perfect for him!!!  Until now I had avoided Digi Stamping - I love the feel of inking and stamping images, but this one is only in digi form, so I took the plunge!  I used X-press It Blending Card in our Canon inkjet printer and had no trouble with the ink and my Copics.  This is a simple card - after all, boys aren't that fond of frilled up cards!!

First I printed the Karate Ian image (the first one was HUGE....lesson number one, check sizing *before* printing) and coloured it with Copics (E000, E01, E11, E50, E51, E53, YR31, R22, R24, W0, W1, W3, W5).  It was cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with red cut with the matching scallop.  The base is constructed of Riding Hood Red, White and some MME Lush DP.  Across the bottom I added some red grosgrain ribbon.  The sentiment is from JustRite Stamper's new Just Because stamp set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the JR Nested Sentiment Dies.  I popped up the Karate Boy on foam tape and stuck him to the middle of the card.

Stamps - Karate Ian (The Greeting Farm), Just Because (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, White, MME Lush DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Inkjet Printer
Accessories - Copics, Large Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, JustRite Nested Sentiment Dies, Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Copic Classes in Wide Bay

Hello Everyone!  I have been asked by a couple of people if I would teach classes in the Wide Bay area of Queensland.  At the moment I am considering running a Copic Beginner Class (please note this is not an official Certification Class) in Maryborough depending on interest.  This will be focusing on Copic techniques and isn't a cardmaking class as such.  All materials will be provided for you, of course you would be welcome to bring your own labelled markers.  In this class you will learn the basics about different Copic markers, picking colours, choosing the right paper and ink as well as blending techniques.

If there is enough interest, I will also do a Beyond the Basics class covering extended techniques such as colouring skin and hair, colouring black and white, adding texture etc...  If you live in this area and are interested, please Email me

***If you do NOT hear back from me within 24hrs, please try again!  Some emails are getting through, some are not!!!**

Don't forget the Copic Card Challenge is on now and there are big prizes to win!!!  All you have to do is make a card using G, BV and RV markers (if you don't have the exact colours, that's OK) and send your completed card to -

Colourless Blender Bleaching

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card has been made using the Colourless Blender Bleaching technique created by US Copic Instructor Colleen Schaan!  For more details on how to do this technique, see my tutorial on today's post at the CopicOz Blog.

I started with a base of aqua bazzill and layered with Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and some MME Mabel DP.  Across this I've taken a piece of Very Vanilla and punched both sides with the MS Deco Fan border punch and topped with more MME Mable DP.  Around these layers I've attached a piece of brown satin ribbon.  I created the feature image by following the steps in the tutorial and cut it out with Large Oval Nestabilities.  I framed this with a piece of Very Vanilla cut with Beaded Oval Nestabilities and popped it up on X-press It Foam Mounting Tape.  Finally I added a triple looped bow to the side of the card.

Stamps - Blush (Penny Black)
Paper - X-press It Inkjet Film, Aqua Bazzill, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, MME Mabel DP
Ink - Copics
Accessories - Large Oval and Beaded Oval Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Border Punch, Brown Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It Foam Mounting Tape.

Sisters Are Flowers

Hello Everyone!! I hope all the Mothers out there had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday and were spoilt by their families!! Today the JR Girls are showcasing not one, but two fabulous sets!! Just Because is this AWESOME mini sentiment set that I will be using over and over!!! I had a sneak peek of it on Friday and used it on a post on Saturday too!! This set ribbed and works with the rectangle stampers.
If you thought that was FAB, the other set we are introducing today is Because I Care - a beautiful Cling set of sentiments (a lot of sister ones for those who've been asking for them!) and frames that are designed to work with the Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 and JustRite Happy Everything dies!!!
My card is made of a base of Baja Breeze and layered with white, Pink Pirouette and two pieces of Papermania Rose Garden DP. Across the join is a piece of white punched with the Woodland Branch punch and topped with a piece of pink satin ribbon. Next I cut a piece of white and a piece of pink in two sizes of Label 20 Nestabilities. On the white one I stamped the sentiment from Because I Care in Memento Tuxedo Black and added a little paper piercing underneath. To the side of this panel, I added a ZVA pearl flourish and then created a flower out of white tissue paper using the smallest two sizes of the Blossom 3 Nestabilities. I joined the flower layers together with a brad and glued it on top of the pearl flourish. Next I added a couple of pink ZVA flowers and some greenery using the MS Branch punch. To finish I added a couple of Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corner.

Stamps - Because I Care (JustRite)
Paper - Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, White, Papermania Rose Garden DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 20 and Blossom 3 Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Woodland Branch and Branch Punches, ZVA Flowers and Pearl Flourish, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack.

Sending You Sunshine

Hello Everyone!!  Today the JustRite Team are showcasing the new Sending You Sunshine stamp set!!  This is a set of 6 interchangeable borders and centres to fit the 2" Round Stamper!  With Mother's Day on Sunday (and the fact that I needed to make a Mother's Day Card!), I chose the Mother's Day border and the sweet flowerpot!!!  Of course you can always use the flowerpot with one of the other borders for different occasions!
I began this card with a base of Regal Rose and topped with Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss (punched at the bottom with the Deco Fan punch) and two pieces of Papermania Rose Garden DP.  Across the join I added a piece of cream ruffled suede ribbon.  I stamped the border and flowerpot centre from Sending You Sunshine in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copic Markers (R81, R83, R85, R89, YG13, YG17, E97, E08, E19, W0, W1, W3).  Because I wanted it to match the cream/vanilla tones of the rest of the card, I airbrushed the whole panel with the E51 Copic Marker!  It was then cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with Kiwi Kiss cut with the matching scallop nestabilities and popped up on foam tape.  Next I stamped the sentiment from Just Because Mini Sentiments in Memento Rose Bud and cut it out using the Custom JustRite Stamper Die called Nested Sentiment Dies.  I adhered this to the bottom and added a pink ZVA rose to the side and finished by adding some Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the top corners.

Stamps - Sending You Sunshine, Just Because (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss, Papermania Rose Garden DP

Butterfly Garden Hop!

Hello Everyone!!!!  It's release time at JustRite Stampers and today the team are showcasing the totally GORGEOUS new Butterfly Garden stamp set!!!  I mean seriously - how awesome are these butterflies and a dream come true for Copic addicts like myself!!  :)  I was soooooo excited when I saw this beautiful set of four borders, 3 butterfly centres and a sentiment centre which coordinate with the 3 1/4" Stamper!!
What could be prettier than a garden full of butterflies!!  :)  I began with a base of Pumpkin Pie and layered with white, Hazel bazzill and two pieces of MME Mabel DP.  Across the join I've added a piece of white punched with the MS Lattice Arch punch and topped it with more pumpkin punched with the SU Scallop punch, a piece of white satin ribbon and a piece of blue satin ribbon.  I stamped the centre in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copic Markers (B32, B34, E50, E51, E53, E29, Y21, Y35, YR12, YR16, YR18, YG13, YG17, BG0000 for the pale sky background) - you can buy these in singles or sets at JustRite!!  I stamped, coloured and cut a second butterfly and popped it up on top of the main image.  Next I stamped the border in Memento Tangelo and airbrushed some YR20 over it just to make the centre pop some more!  :)  Both the centre and border were cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and then matted it with some Hazel cut with the matching scallop nestabilities and popped the whole panel up on X-press It Foam Tape.  To finish I added a blue bow to the ribbons and some clear rhinestones to the bottom corner.  Then I decided I didn't like them clear and coloured them with a YR18 Copic Marker and made them orange!!  :)

Stamps - Butterfly Garden (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pumpkin Pie, White, Hazel Bazzill, MME Mabel DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Tangelo

They say April showers bring May flowers, so let's show off those beautiful blossoms! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB10. You have until May 31st to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!
Now everyone who regularly visits my blog knows that I LOVE flowers so this challenge is perfect for me!!!  Hyacinths are very popular at the moment if the Royal Wedding is anything to go by, since Princess Kate carried white ones along with lilies of the valley and sweet william in her bouquet.  I decided to make mine pink because the pictures I found were just so pretty!  :)  I stamped the hyacinth image from Hello Hyacinth in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV000, RV32, RV34, YG11, YG13, YG17, V95, BV000, E53, E55, E57, B000, B00, C0, C1, 0).
The base is pink bazzill and topped with white, light green bazzill and some Papermania Rose Garden DP.  The next panel is white (punched with the Deco Fan Border Punch) and more Rose Garden DP.  Across these panels I added some white lace and pink satin ribbon.  The hyacinths were cut and embossed with Label 17 Nestabilities using my Grand Calibur and then adhered to the front of the card.  I stamped the sentiments also from Hello Hyacinth on two small white panels and added them to the side of the image, a pink satin bow to the ribbon and a few Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the top corners.

Stamps - Hello Hyacinth (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, White and Green Bazzill, Papermania Rose Garden DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Label 17 Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Punch, White Lace, Pink Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape.
