A Heavenly Christmas

Hello Everyone for my card today I have chosen to use the new Christmas Blessings set which will be available TOMORROW!!  :)

I started with a base of white and layered with Riding Hood Red and then more white that has been embossed with Swiss Dots EF.  Through the middle I've added some red taffeta ribbon.  For the frame, I've cut two panels using the Label 8 Nestabilites and then used the Small Oval Nestabilities to cut a hole in the red panel and the Large Oval Nestabilities to cut a hole in the white panel.  I then added a little texture and embossed the white frame with Swiss Dots as well.  I then stamped the sentiment from Christmas Blessings in Memento Tuxedo Black onto white card and used foam tape to pop the Label 8 frame on top of it to give a window effect.  The Poinsettia is from the Blessed Christmas set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers (R35, R37, R39, G24, G28) and then die cut using the custom Poinsettia Die - got to love that, NO fussy cutting!!!  :)  For a little sparkle I added some Gold Flower Soft to the centre of the poinsettia!  To finish I added some ribbon tails from under the Poinsettia and a red pearl to each corner!

Stamps - Christmas Blessings, Blessed Christmas
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Red
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Poinsettia Die, Label 8, Large and Small Oval Nestabilities, Gold Flower Soft, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Copics, Foam Tape, Red Pearls.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!  :)

FS199 Christmas Ornament

It's Sunday, so it's time for another Featured Stamper challenge!  This week the honour goes to Kris (aka Krischer) who inspired me with her Olive and Artichoke card.  Kris likes using the Top Note die, although I don't own that particular die, I thought the Label 17 Nestabilities would work nicely!!  :)  I changed the theme and colours of the original and omitted the sentiment, adding a couple of ribbons and a bow.  :)

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with gloss gold and some Wassail DP.  Next I cut some gold using the Label 17 Nestabilites and then some more Wassail using the same die and cutting along the emboss line.  Around both these panels I attached some ivory satin ribbon and topped with some red satin ribbon.  The ornament is from Our Daily Bread's December release (available Dec 1st!) called Christmas Ornaments and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card.  Firstly I airbrushed the whole thing using the Copic Airbrush System and a Y23 Copic Marker.  I made it a little heavier on the edges, leaving it lighter in the middle.  I then coloured the image with Copics (YG91, YG93, YG95, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y23, YR23) and added some accenting with a Gold Spica Pen.  It was cut out with a pair of scissors and popped up on a gold panel cut with the Heirloom Ornaments die by Spellbinders.  To finish I added some gold cord to the top of the ornament and a red satin bow to the bottom made with a Bow Easy.

Stamps - Christmas Ornaments (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, Gloss Gold, Basic Grey Wassail DP
Ink -Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, 2010 Heirloom Ornaments Nestabilities, Label 17 Nestabilities, Ivory Satin and Red Satin Ribbons, Gold Cord, Bow Easy, Foam Tape, Scissors.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!

Holly Inspiration

Hello Everyone!!!  I hope all my US friends have had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!  Today I was looking around SCS and came across this week's Inspiration Challenge which led me to The Country Porch.  Now I don't know about you, but I STILL have a big Christmas card list to get through and when I saw this Holly Berry Tablecloth, it reminded me so much of the Kaisercraft Be Merry DP in my stash!  I also used this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch for the layout!

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with white and some Be Merry DP.  Next I took a piece of gloss gold and punched one side with a scallop punch and layered it with Old Olive that has been stamped in Versamark with the Poinsettia Background stamp and also punched with the scallop border punch.  Over the top of these layers I attached some white lace and red satin ribbon.  For my feature panel, I inked up only the holly part from the Holly Tag Set using my brush tipped black Multiliner and stamped it onto the X-press It Blending Card.  Next I stamped it again using  the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the holly corner to create a frame.  The sentiment is also from the Holly Tag Set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The holly has been coloured using Copics - G24, G28, R24, R29.  To finish I added a red satin bow to the image corner and some red pearls to the bottom of the card.

Stamps - Holly Tag Set, Poinsettia Background (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, White, Old Olive, Gold Gloss, Kaisercraft Be Merry DP
Ink - Black Multiliner, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities, SU Scallop Punch, White Crochet Lace, Red Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Kaisercraft Red Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

From Our Family

Hi Everyone!!  Today I was looking at this week's SCS Sketch Challenge and don't you just love a layer or FIVE!!  :)  I managed to sneak away while the kids were busy and whip up this card for it!!  :)

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with white that I'd stamped with the Poinsettia Background in Real Red.  Next I took another piece of RHR, punched the bottom with the MS Deco Fan border punch and layered with some Wassail DP that I found deep in my stash!  The next layer is more RHR that has been cut using the Label 16 Nestabilities.  The next panel is more RHR and Wassail and this time I've attached some red satin ribbon.  My feature panel has been stamped using the Poinsettia Tag Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R24, R29, G24, G28).  The sentiment is from the Mistletoe Tag Set and has also been stamped in black.  It was cut out using the Custom Tag Die - how easy is that!!  :)  Next I attached some red satin ribbon and popped the panel up on foam tape.  To finish I added a couple of Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the Label 16 panel and a small red bow to the side of the tag.

Stamps - Poinsettia Tag Set, Mistletoe Tag Set, Poinsettia Background (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey Wassail DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red

A Blessed Christmas

Hello Everyone!!  Today I had the chance to play in this week's Featured Stamper challenge at SCS - I have to admit with everything that's been going on lately, it's been a while since I had the chance to play along!!  This week the honour goes to CriminalGrace and I chose her Dancing Snowflakes card to case.  I changed the colours, moved the snowflake and sentiment and added a ribbon and rhinestones.

I started with a base of pale blue bazzill and layered with glossy silver and more pale blue (I added a little piercing to each of the corners because they looked a little bare!).  Next I cut two sizes of Label 17, one in glossy silver and the other in white.  On the white I stamped the Snowflake Background (ODBD) in Sky Blue Versacolor and then added the sentiment from the Mistletoe Tag Set (ODBD) in Tuxedo Memento Black.  Around all the layers I attached some silver satin ribbon and knotted it to one side.  The snowflake is from ODBD's Peace and Joy set and has been stamped in Versamark onto darker blue bazzill and embossed with opaque white EP and then cut out using the custom Snowflake Die!  To finish I added several clear rhinestones to the snowflake to give it a little sparkle!!  :)

As a special bonus this week - Our Daily Bread Designs are offering FREE SHIPPING (USA only)!!!  You have until November 28th to make this most of this offer!!!

Stamps - Peace and Joy, Snowflake Background, Mistletoe Tag Set (ODBD)
Paper - Blue and Pale Blue Bazzill, White, Gloss Silver
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Sky Blue Versacolor
Accessories - Snowflake Die, Label 17 Nestabilities, Silver Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Clear Rhinestones.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Garden Shaker

Hello Everyone!!!  Yesterday I was talking to my friend Mandi who had recently made a shaker card and I had to admit that I'd never done one myself!  I know, it's one of those things that I said I'd get to 'one day'.  Well I decided to challenge myself to actually make one and was inspired by this week's SCS Inspiration Challenge by an adorable pinafore!  :)

Don't forget that the CopicOz challenge to do some feathering is closing soon - come join us for the chance to win a FABULOUS prize!!!!  :)

I started with the scene I was going to create and used Copics and a baby wipe to create the 'grass', airbrushed the sky and drew in a few little flowers with my multiliner.  I then stamped this sweet Sarah Kay image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I cut her out and popped her up on top of my scene.  The frame was created by cutting a back panel of white and the green top panel with the Label 17 Nestabilities.  Behind the green panel I've added a piece of acetate and before I adhered it with foam tape, I added some Sweet Pea Flower Soft as my 'Shaker' pieces.  Once all this was done I started putting the card together, starting with a base of Old Olive and layered with white and some Kaisercraft Wish Upon DP.  (It's actually Christmas paper, but I thought it was perfect for this card.)  Now I could have used my sewing machine to stitch around the edge, but since I have a dubious relationship with my sewing machine, I decided on faux stitching which I did with my .3 Black Multiliner.  Then I added a skinny panel of pink bazzill and topped with some white satin ribbon.  I then placed my shaker over the top.  To finish off, I used three Kaisercraft white flowers and airbrushed them, layered them and topped with a pearl that was coloured with a Copic Marker.

Stamps - Spring is Back (Sarah Kay)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White Gloss Card, Old Olive, Pink Bazzill, White, Kaisercraft Wish Upon DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Multiliner
Accessories - Copics, Airbrush System, Label 17 and Label 6 Nestabilities, Acetate, Kaisercraft White Flowers, Kaisercraft Snow Pearl, Sweet Pea Flower Soft, Foam Tape.

Well that's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!  :)

On Your Special Day

Hi Everyone!!  Today is another JustRite Stampers Challenge and this week it's sponsored by Flower Soft!!!  We've had the opportunity to play with their new Gold and Silver Flower Soft and I've chosen to use their Silver Flower Soft today for the Wedding/Holiday/Celebration challenge.  I've also used JustRite's Wedding Nested Sentiments set for the sentiment!

I started with a base of black and layered with Riding Hood Red and some MME Lush DP.  The horizontal panel is made of more red punched on one side with the MS Iron Gate border punch and topped with some silver satin ribbon.  The feature panel has been stamped using the Wedding Nested Sentiments set in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with Large Oval Nestabilities.  I then added some Flower Soft Glue around the edge of the oval and sprinkled on the Silver Flower Soft, gently tapping off the excess.  It was matted with Label 13 die cuts in red and black and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added some clear rhinestones to the top corners and a large silver bow!  :)

Stamps - Wedding Nested Sentiments (JustRite)
Paper - Black, White, Riding Hood Red, MME Lush DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Silver Flower Soft, Label 13 and Large Oval Nestabilities, MS Iron Gate Border Punch, Silver Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Clear Rhinestones, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting and hope you play along with us this week!!  :)

Joyous Noel

Hello Everyone!!  Today I decided to play along with this week's Splitcoast Sketch Challenge - don't know about you, but I am STILL in need of Christmas cards and thought this sketch would be perfect!!  :)

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and stamped the Poinsettia Background stamp by Our Daily Bread Designs in versamark just to give the plain card base a bit of 'oompf'!  For the next two panels I used some left over scraps of Kaisercraft Belle DP and matted them with some green bazzill.  Around the top panel I've attached some 1/2" white satin ribbon.  Next I stamped the Holly Tag from ODBD in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured the Holly in with Copics (G24, G28, R24, R29) and then stamped the sentiment from the same set in the middle of the tag.  I used the matching Tag Die to cut it out - how easy is that!!!  :)  Next I added a matching white satin bow and topped it with a red button and gold cord.  To finish I added a few white pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - Holly Tag Set, Poinsettia Background (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, Green Bazzill, Kaisercraft Belle DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark
Accessories - Copics, Tag Die, White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Red Button, Gold Cord, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls

Vacation Time!

I mentioned in my last post that the family and I were away on a vacation - my hubby had been planning this ALL YEAR and surprised us all!!  :)  He had a business trip on Hamilton Island - part of the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, right in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef!!  Because I now have to madly catch up on my card work, today you get photos from Hamilton Island to inspire you!!  :)

This is the view from our holiday home - looking over some of the Whitsunday Islands, back towards mainland Australia.  Can you see the dark patches in the water??  That is just a small part of the coral reefs that are all throughout the area!

This is Catseye Beach - the main beach on Hamilton Island!  We were there early and had it all to ourselves!  :)

Everyone gets around in a Golf Buggy on Hamilton Island (us too!) - this is Peak Hour!!  :)

Another part of the beach looking east.

Hope you've enjoyed some of my holiday snaps and hopefully next time you visit I'll have some new cards for you!  :)

Peace on Earth

Hello Everyone!!  As you read this, I'm away with the family on a short vacation!  YAY!!  :)  After a busy four days in Sydney working at the Sydney Paper Crafts Festival in the Copic Booth followed by a full, yet wonderful day teaching the Copic Certification Class; hubby decided that it was a good time to take a break!!!  :)  For today's card I'm featuring one of the new tag sets released by ODBD this month!  This is the Holly Tag Set and the sentiment is from the same set!!!  As a little extra, the background is stamped using the Poinsettia Background stamp!!

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with gold and white.  The white was stamped with the Poinsettia Background stamp in Antique Linen for a subtle background.  Next is another piece of RHR that has been punched both sides with the MS Deco Fan punch and topped with some Echo Park Merry Christmas DP.  The Holly Tag has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black (the sentiment is from the same set) onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R24, R29, G24, G28) and then cut out using ODBD's custom Tag Die (how EASY does that make cutting these out!!).  I've added some white organdy ribbon vertically over the card and then attached the die cut with some red satin ribbon.  I've finished by adding a red satin bow that I've made with my Bow Easy and a couple of red pearls to the corner.

Stamps - Holly Tag Set, Poinsettia Background (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, Gold Gloss, White, Echo Park Merry Christmas DP

A Personal Engagement

Hi Everyone!!!  Recently I had a friend ask if I could make an engagement card for her to give to her nephew and fiancee.  The invitation was purple, black and white - so I went with that colour palette.  She also wanted to have their names on the card - JustRite to the rescue!!  :)  Actually, that was the first thing that drew me into JustRite, was the ability to customise my cards with names and dates and such.

I started with a base of black and layered with white and some purple bazzill that I embossed with a heart embossing folder from Provocraft's Love Language set.  Next I added a square of MME Lush DP which was layered with a piece of black cut with Label 16 Nestabilities and then added a piece of white May Arts Satin Ribbon.  I created the sentiment panel with the Romantic Sentiments Centers and customised the outside with the 15 point font from the 2" Wood Stamper, Font and Center set.  I cut it out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with the new Lacey Circles Nestabilities and popped it all up on foam tape.  To finish I added a little bling to each of the corners!!  :)

Stamps - Romantic Sentiments Centers, 2" Wood Stamper, Font and Center Set (JustRite)
Paper - Black, White, Purple Bazzill, MME Lush DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 16, Large Circle and Lacy Circle Nestabilities, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Love Language EF, Kaisercraft Silver Rhinestones, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Sweet and Simple

Hello Everyone!  Today I'm going with Autumn colours, even though it is now Spring here in Australia!  It's probably because I love colouring these Tigerlilies in oranges and then the rest of the card works in around it.  :)

I started this card with a Chocolate Chip base and layered with Very Vanilla and some Devonshire DP.  On top of this is more Chocolate punched with the Deco Fan border punch, layered with yet more Devonshire and then knotted some ivory satin ribbon over it.  The Tigerlilies are from A Year in Flowers 2 by Flourishes and have been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR12, YR16, YR18, G24, G28) and cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with chocolate cut with the matching scallop circle.  I popped the circle panel up on foam tape and finished with a few Blush pearls in the corner.

Stamps - A Year in Flowers 2 (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kaisercraft Devonshire Collection DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black

With Sympathy

Hello Everyone!!  When this goes live, I'll be down in Sydney working at the Sydney Paper Crafts Festival at the Copic Booth!  If you happen to be there, make sure you stop by and say Hello!!  :)  Today is also another JustRite Challenge - this time it's to create a Sympathy Card.  I actually made this one a while ago as it was published in the JustRite Catalog and Idea book, but now I can finally put it up on my blog!!

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with black, more vanilla and more black (this one was punched with the Lace Border Punch) and then added a piece of MME DP.  Through the middle I've added some black satin ribbon and popped up my feature panel over the top.  The sentiment is from JustRite's Thinking of You set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla.  It was cut with Large Oval Nestabilities, matted with some aqua bazzill cut with another oval and matted again with black cut with Label 4 Nestabilities.  Then I added a flower to the bottom framed with branches cut with the Martha Stewart Branch Punch and added a black pearl centre.  To finish I added a couple of corner die cuts also cut with black.

Stamps - Thinking of You (JustRite)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Black, Aqua Bazzill, MME French Flea Market DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Large and Small Oval Nestabilities, Label 4 Nestabilities, Lace Border Punch, Cuttlebug Vintage Die, Black Satin Ribbon, Flowers, Martha Stewart Branch Punch, Black Pearl, Foam Tape.

I started this card with some Early Espresso (thanks to Edna) and layered with Very Vanilla and then added two pieces of Echo Park Merry Christmas DP.  Across the join I've added some burgundy mesh (thanks Edna!  :) ) and topped with some twine.  The snowman is from JustRite's Old Fashioned Christmas stamp set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YG93, YG95, R02, R22, YR16, YR18, C1, 0).  I cut him out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with more espresso and vanilla cut with the Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities and popped it up on foam tape.  I then went hunting through my button stash and found the wood like rustic buttons and added a little more twine to give it that vintage feel.  To finish I stamped the "Fa La La" sentiment from the new Sparky and Friends Cling stamp set and cut it with Beaded Ovals Nestabilities and sponged a little ink on it.

I've used this week's WMS Sketch Challenge for the layout and thought it was perfect for these gorgeous new tag designs!!!  I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with white, gold and more RHR that has been stamped with the Poinsettia Background stamp in Versamark.  Next I created a pocket out of white and added a strip of RHR that has been punched with the MS Deco Fan punch.  Across the bottom I've added some white organdy ribbon topped with red satin.  On top of this I've popped up a Poinsettia from Blessed Christmas that I've stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (G24, G28, R35, R37, R39) with a touch of Gold Spica and cut it out with the Poinsettia Die (I can't even begin to tell you how glad I was that I didn't have to hand cut around this poinsettia!!!).  My tag was made using the new Poinsettia Tag Stamp Set using both the tag image and one of the sentiments.  It was also stamped onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with the same Copics and Gold Spica and then die cut with the custom Tag Die.  To finish I added a little red satin ribbon to the tag and some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corners.

Comfort Me With Apples

Hello Everyone!!  It's time for another Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!!!  As we enter into the busiest time of the card making season, we want to see how you use beauty and artistry and wrap it up with a bow… with ribbon! You don’t have to create a bow, just show us your favorite way to add elegance to your cards or creations with ribbon. Link up your card for the Bringing Back Beauty challenge here (link to post) to enter. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB04. You have until November 29th to enter! As we unveil our challenge for next month, we’ll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge! Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog!

Today's card is made using the new Apple of My Eye set by Flourishes.  I had such a good time colouring in these apples and seeing them come to life - I think I was a little crazy deciding to cut it all out, but I did love the finished effect!!!  There is a quote from the bible which is also in a favourite book of mine that goes "Comfort me with apples: for I am sick with love"..... I wonder who knows which book it comes from!  ;-)

I started with a base of aqua bazzill and layered with Very Vanilla, punched on the bottom with the Deco Fan border punch, and the added a piece of Thrift Shop DP.  Towards the bottom I added some ivory crochet ribbon and topped with some ivory satin ribbon.  Above this I added a piece of VV that had been cut with Label 8 Nestabilities and stamped the sentiment from Flourishes' Apple of My Eye set.  The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R02, R22, R24, R29, G20, G21, G24, G28), then very carefully cut it all out and popped it up on foam tape to the side of the sentiment.  To finish I added an ivory bow and a few Kaisercraft Blush pearls under the sentiment.

Stamps - Apple of My Eye (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Aqua Bazzill, Very Vanilla, October Afternoon Thrift Shop DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Label 8 Nestabilities, MS Deco Fan Border Punch, Ivory Crochet Ribbon, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Foam Tape.
