Birthday Box

I made this for one of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges at SCS, which was one of the non-card challenges.  I had this paper mache box that's been lurking around my house for a very long time that I decided was well overdue for a make over.  Around the base I added 4 panels of MME paper and for the top I used some pink MME for the base panel and more of the green for the layer.  Wrapped around both these panels is some pink satin ribbon.  I then stamped the sentiment from JustRite's new Birthday Centers Round set, cut it out with circle nestabilities and matted with pink cut with the matching scallop and popping it all up on foam tape.  To finish I added some pink ribbon around the rim of the lid and along the bottom of the box, some Kaisercraft Lush pearls to the lid and of course a pink bow!!

Stamps: Birthday Centres Round (JustRite)
Paper: Pink Bazzill, White, MME DSP
Ink: Versacolor
Accessories: Large Circle, Big Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Pink Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Paper Mache Box, Kaisercraft Lush Pearls.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Bright and Fun

Hello Everyone!  Today's card is one I made for a friend's birthday - she loves these little CC Designs girls and lot's of bright colours, so I hope she likes this one!  :)  This also qualifies for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use lattice!!

I started with a base of Kiwi Kiss and layered with white and some Echo Park DP.  Across the middle is more Kiwi Kiss that's been punched with the embossed curve punch and layered with more Echo Park DP.  On the DP I've stamped the sentiment using JustRite's Birthday Centres Round set and the matching 1 5/8" Clear Stamper which made is super easy to line up!!  I stamped my CC Designs girl in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (E000, E01, R20, G20, G21, G24, E33, E35, E08, E13, E17, V01, V04, 0)....my friend is a dark redhead, so I tried to do the same for my image.....I think I need more practice with redheads!!!!  :)  I cut her out and popped her up on foam tape of a layer of embossed white and light purple.

Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Kiwi Kiss, White, Purple Bazzill, Echo Park DP

Take Flight

Hi Everyone!!  Today JustRite are featuring the new Font called Myriad-Pro.  The one I have used today is the 50pt Font and comes with both Upper Case and Lower Case in the one pack!!!  Now you have the convenience of being able to use upper and lower in the one sentiment or verse and only buy one set!  If you want your Font bigger (perfect for scrapbooking) - it also comes in 95pt!!!  I've also used another of the new birds from the Backyard Birds set, this time it is the American Goldfinch.  This card is also for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge - what an awesome sketch this week!!  :)

I started with a base of yellow bazzill and layered with black and some Fly a Kite DSP.  I've stamped the first part of the sentiment in the top corner using Myriad-Pro 50pt Font in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The next two panels are more DSP and more yellow bazzill, both matted with black.  On the yellow panel I've stamped the second part of the sentiment using the same Font.  Across these two panels I've attached some white satin ribbon.  The image is the American Goldfinch from the Backyard Birds set and has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (Y11, Y15, Y17, C1, C3, C5, E53, G12, G24, G28, V01, V15, V17, 0).  Although this set is designed for the Large Circle Nestabilites, I've actually cut it with Small Oval Nestabilities and matted it with hazel and black bazzill cut with Label 12 Nestabilties and then popped up on foam tape.  I finished by adding a small white bow to the side and some white pearls to the corner.

Stamps - Myriad-Pro 50pt Font, Backyard Birds (JustRite)

A Touch of Nature

Hi Everyone!!  Today at JustRite we are featuring the new Nature Nested Sentiments and Verse set!  I've also used it with the Back Yard Birds set that we featured yesterday!!  :)  Have you seen that JusRite are also stocking 96 Copic Colours??  All the colours I've used on today's card can all be found on the JustRite website (they are only available to the USA and Canada).

I started with a base of white and layered with Riding Hood Red (embossed with Nat EF).  The middle panel is more white punched on each side with the Martha Stewart Iron Gate Border Punch and then topped with more embossed red card.  I then stamped the Cardinal from JustRite's Back Yard Birds set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (B000, G24, G28, E21, E25, E29, C1, C3, C5, R24, R29, Y15, Y17).  It's been cut out with Spellbinders Large Circle Nestabilities - I just love the fact that the JustRite stamps are designed to co-ordinate perfectly with Spellbinders, makes it sooooooo easy!!!!  I decided to frame the circle with a piece of white cut with the Blossom 2 Nestabilities and I added a bit of sparkle to the edges with a Clear Spica and then popped it up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from the new Nature Nested Sentiments and Verse and has been cut with Label 4 Nestabilities and I've sponged a little blue around the middle and attached over the white satin ribbon.

Hello Everyone!!!  Today JustRite are featuring their new August release, Back Yard Birds!  What a beautiful collection of birds to stamp, and even better to colour!!!  This is a set of 4 centres and borders in the 3 1/4inch size and today I've chosen to use this adorable hummingbird image and coloured it with Copics!!  Speaking of Copics - did you know that JustRite are now stocking 96 Copic colours which have been made available in Trio and Quad packs to make the choosing of colours so much easier!!!  This packs have been put together by the JR team, including Sharon Harnist and Debbie Olsen - both Copic Regional Instructors in the USA!!!

I started my card with a base of Old Olive and layered with white and some Hey Birdie DSP (pierced around the top).  Across the bottom I've added more Hey Birdie, punched with the Single Embossed Curve border punch.  The next layer is more Hey Birdie matted with white and across this I've added some white satin ribbon.  I've stamped the Hummingbird image from Back Yard Birds in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (0, RV10, RV21, RV23, RV25, YG03, YG91, YG93, YG95, BG0000, W1).  It was cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with another piece of Hey Birdie that was cut out with the Renaissance Hearts Pendant and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I added some white pearls to the corner and a white satin bow.

FS185 Happy Sunflowers

Hello Everyone, hope you are all having a great week-end!!  Sunday is Featured Stamper day and this week the honour goes to the super sweet Heather Prince (aka Princessheather).  Congratulations Heather, I'm so happy for you and enjoy your week in the spotlight!!!  :)  I chose her May Flowers card to case and kept to similar colours although I changed the flower image and sentiment.

I started with a base of Riding Hood Red and layered with Old Olive and two pieces of Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety DSP.  Between the two pieces of DSP I've added a scallop border punched piece like Heather did, using a different punch.  Over the top is a piece of red ribbon, which I've offset compared to Heather's down the middle.  The frame is from ODBD's Flower Frame 2 set and has been stamped in Memento Bamboo Leaves and hand cut.  I've used an oval mask in the middle and sponged a little to give a little dept.  I stamped the sunflowers from Harvest Blessings in Memento Rich Cocoa on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (Y21, Y35, Y38, YR24, E35, E37, YG93, YG95, YG97).

I then cut the sunflower out using the custom Large Sunflower Die and popped them up on foam tape.  The sentiment is also from Harvest Blessings and has been cut out with an oval punch and matted with red cut with the larger oval punch.  To finish I added a red bow made with my Bow Easy and a couple of red pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Harvest Blessings, Flower Frames 2 (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety DSP
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa and Bamboo Leaves

Today I had the chance to play the SCS Sketch Challenge early!!  Wonders will never cease!!  :)  I also got to play with some new toys today - Flower Frames 2 and the brand new Small Sunflower DIE that matches the sunflower stamp from Happy Fall!!  I tell you, that die cuts FANTASTICALLY!!!  I was super impressed with it!!!!

The base is some yellow bazzill and I've topped it with Chocolate Chip and some Origins DSP.  The next panel is more Origins DSP that's been cut with the Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities.  The vertical panel is more Chocolate Chip punched on one side with the Arch Lattice Punch, topped with more yellow bazzill embossed with Polka Dot EF.  Around this panel I've attached some white May Arts ribbon.  I've stamped the Flower Frames 2 and the verse from Happy Fall in Memento Rich Cocoa and cut it out and popped it up on foam tape.  The sunflowers are also from Happy Fall and I've stamped them in Memento Rich Cocoa on X-press It Blending Card and coloured them with Copics (Y21, Y17, Y38, YR24, E35, YG95, YG97).  I then used the brand new Small Sunflower Die to cut the sunflowers out and they cut soooooooooooo beautifully!!!  To finish I added a few Chocolate Pearls to the frame and the corner and of course added a big bow made with my Bow Easy!!  :)

Today's card is for this week's Featured Stamper Challenge as well as making a birthday card for a little girl we know who's turning 6.  The card I cased for the FS challenge is CAKath's Get Well Mom card.  I changed the colours, image, added a sentiment and moved the bling.  It's a nice, quick and easy card - I really haven't been well over the last 24hrs.

Groovy Snowgirl

Hello Everyone!!  Well I don't know about you, but where I live at the moment it's freezing cold and the wind is HOWLING!  UGH!!!  Typical August weather......which means it's perfect for staying in and creating cards!!!  :)  Since I feel cold, I was in the mood to make something resembling cold weather and reached for my Groovy Snowman set and decided to use this super cute snowgirl!!!  I've also loosely based it on this week's 2 Sketches 4 You challenge and used a circle instead of a rectangle.

I started with a base of white and layered with pink bazzill and topped with another piece of white that has been embossed with a snowflake EF and then sponged with Pretty in Pink ink.  The next panel is more sponged white that has been punched with the MS Loop punch and topped with Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly DSP.  Across this I've added some pink satin ribbon.  I stamped my Groovy Snowman (Snowgirl) in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R81, R83, R85, R89, G40, G82, BG0000, C1, Y21, Y35, Y38).  I cut it out with large circle nestabilities and matted with some hazel bazzill cut with big scallop circle nestabilities and popped it all up on foam tape.  To finish I added a big pink bow and topped it with a snowflake (MS punch) and clear rhinestone and added more clear rhinestones to the corners.

JustRite Stampers are now stocking ALL 24 colours of Memento Ink and they are perfect for stamping your images - especially if you want to use Copics to colour them!!!  Personally I love Memento Ink and already have a few colours, but I certainly have a wish list for more!!!  ;-)

Stamps - Groovy Snowman (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Pink and Hazel Bazzill, Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Pretty in Pink

Orange Butterflies

Here's yet another project I made for the DTGD challenges at SCS!  One thing about these challenges is that they often made you think outside the box and although this is quite different to the sorts of things I normally make, I did actually like the way it turned out.

I started by making the base out of Kraft using the Blossom 2 Nestabilities set.  Next I cut a piece of Tangerine Tango, pierced the edge and topped with more Kraft that has been stamped with Versamark using the Gerber Daisies set by Flourishes.  Down one side I've added some ivory satin ribbon and topped with orange dotted grosgrain ribbon.  I then stamped the two butterflies from the same set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR12, YR16, YR18) and then cut them out and popped them up on foam tape.  To finish I added the sentiment, also from Gerber Daisies to the top of the card.

Stamps: Gerber Daisies (Flourishes)
Paper: X-press It Blending Card, Kraft, Tangerine Tango
Ink: Versamark, Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Copics, Orange Spica Pen, Blossom 2 Nestabilities, Ivory Ribbon, Orange Organdy Ribbon, Scissors, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Foam Tape.

Sunflower Blessings

Hello Everyone!!  Today I was playing with the new Harvest Blessings set by Our Daily Bread Designs - I was planning to make a completely different card, but this is how it turned out!  Sometimes that's just how it goes!!  :)  This fits for both the F4A24 Challenge to use an image from a garden and for the CopicOz Challenge to use Copic Markers to colour Flowers!

I started with a base of Old Olive and layered with white and then two pieces of Devonshire Collection DSP, topping with some yummy striped ribbon from Stacy that I've been hoarding for ages.  Next I stamped the sunflowers and matching verse from Harvest Blessings in Memento Rich Cocoa onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (Y35, Y38, YR24, E35, E37, G24, G28, BG0000) and added a little white gel pen for highlights.  I cut this out using Petite Oval Nestabilities and matted with the matching scallop in Chocolate Chip and popped it all up on foam tape.  To finish I added a few Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the corners.

Stamps - Harvest Blessings (ODBD)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, White, Kasiercraft Devonshire Collection DSP
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Copics, Large Petite Oval and Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Striped Ribbon, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

A Christmas Ornament

This is another project I made for the DTGD challenges which called for a non-card project.  I used an empty ribbon spool to create this Christmas Ornament using the new JustRite set called Holiday Cheer.  It was super easy to do and I think will look kinda cute on my Christmas tree this year!!  :)

I started with an empty ribbon spool (this one held 1/2inch ribbon) and then cut two white circles to cover any labels that may show through.  Next I cut and embossed two Renaissance Hearts Spellbinders Pendants and attached to each side.  I stamped the center and border from Holiday Cheer in Memento Tuxedo Black on X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (R35, G16, C1, Y35) and cut out with Circle Nestabilities and matted with gold card also cut with Circle Nestabilties and matted again with green cut with Labels 9 Nestabilities and attached it all to the front of my ornament.  Finally I added some clear rhinestones to each of the die cut hearts and attached some ribbon around the middle to create a hanger.

Stamps: Holiday Cheer (JustRite)
Paper: X-press It Blending Card, Gold, White, Green Bazzill
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Copics, Label 9, Small and Large Circle Nestaiblities, Green Ribbon, Clear Rhinestones, Clear Spica.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!

DTGD Just for You!

Hello Everyone!!  Today's card is another one I made for the Dare to get Dirty challenges over at SCS.  I've combined two challenges for this one - Julies' and Ryann's - both of which totally freaked me out I have to say!  To explain why this looks very different to the sorts of things I normally do - I had to make it Clean and Simple, minimal layers (What!!!), No patterned paper (What!!!!), NO RIBBON (WHAT!!!!) and on and on it went.....honestly very scary!!!  :)  So with the restrictions, this is what I ended up with.  I made the flower using the Dahlia Nestabilities, the leaves with the SU Little Leaves Sizzlet, a bit of Faux stitching (which to be brutally honest is straighter than my sewing anyway), a Label 10 panel embossed with the Jamara EF.  The sentiment is from JustRite's new All Occasions Nested Sentiments and Verse which I cut into a notched tag.

Stamps - All Occasions Nested Sentiments and Verse (JustRite)
Paper - White, Red and Green Bazzill
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 10 Nesties, Dahlia Nesties, Little Leaves Sizzlet, Jamara EF, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Scissors.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!
