Going Western

Hello Everyone!!  Today I have another Shirt Card for you!!  This time I've gone with a western style theme.  I've used the Couture Collection Dies for the base card - cut out of brown card - and then the Everyday Shirt Dies to decorate the front.  I've used the Cool and Casual paper collection for the pattern and accented with brown card for the trim, buttons and pocket.

These are so quick and easy to make and such a fun card to give to any male in your life.  Let's face it, masculine cards are often known as "The Dreaded MAN Card" to most of us, so anything that makes it easier has got to be a bonus!

It's Your Day!

Hello Everyone!  After a rough year, I have finally got out my markers and pencils and coloured this big, beautiful bloom from Power Poppy!  It is so commanding of center stage that I really didn't have to do much else to make this shine!

I have a white base and cream layer.  The next layer started as a piece of white card which I then used a blender brush and some Bundled Sage, Brushed Corduroy and a touch of Peacock Feathers.  I've stamped the sentiment from Strong and Beautiful in Vintage Sepia ink in the corner.  Next I've die cut the 'bricks' using white card and Texture 4 Die by Paper Rose.  I've stamped the flower and leaves from Abundant Petals (FYI, this flower also comes in Digital - Big Flouncy Peony) in black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics and some pencil, fussy cut (because I masked this instead of using the matching die!  D'OH!) and then popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a few cream sequins.

Stamps - Abundant Petals, Strong and Beautiful (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Black, Versafine Vintage Sepia, Distress Inks: Bundled Sage, Brushed Corduroy, Peacock Feathers
Paper - X-press It Blending card, White, Cream
Accessories - Paper Rose Texture 4 Die, Cream Sequins, X-press It Foam Tape

That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp!

Shirt for Dad

Hello Everyone! Today I have a card I've made using the new Everyday Shirt Die by Divinity Designs.  This is such a fun set and sooooooo quick and easy to make a card for a male in your life!  You do need the Couture Collection Dies for the base card (here I used blue card) and then the Everyday Shirt for the rest - here I've used Cool and Casual paper (there are so fun patterns in this paper collection to make a variety of different shirts) and the same blue card for the trims and pocket.  The 'Father' is a diecut using blue card and the Family Names 1 Die Set and I added a little airbrushing with B95 Copic.  You'll be amazed how quickly you can make these cards which I'm sure will bring a smile to the recipient!  :)

Footsteps and a Suit!

Hello Everyone!!  Today I'm playing with the latest release by Divinity Designs!  For my first project I've made a milk carton using the Milk Carton with Layers Dies to cut the cream base and By The Shore paper layers.  I've used Curvy Slopes to cut another piece of By The Shore paper and attached to the bottom of the carton.  Next I stamped the footprints from Footsteps Stamp/Die Duo in Tea Dye ink and die cut with the matching die.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Vintage Sepia and die cut with Scalloped Ovals (brushing some Antique Linen ink on while still in the die) and pop up on X-press It Foam Tape.

Stamps - Footsteps (Divinity Designs)
Ink - Tea Dye and Versafine Vintage Sepia, Antique Linen
Paper - Divinity Designs By The Shore, Cream
Accessories -  Divinity Designs Dies: Milk Carton with Layers, Curvy Slopes, Scalloped Ovals; X-press It Foam Tape, Mini Peg

For my tropical themed card, I've used the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer to cut the cream base, then added a panel of By The Shore paper, stamping the sentiment from Footsteps directly onto the patterned paper in Vintage Sepia.  I've stamped and die cut the footprints using Footsteps Stamp/Die Duo and also added some cream sequins.  Next I've die cut some Cool and Casual paper using Pierced Frames and then popped the frame up on X-press It Foam Tape.

Stamps - Footsteps SDD (Divinity Designs)
Ink - Versafine Vintage Sepia
Paper - Divinity Designs Cool and Casual, By The Shore; Cream Card
Accessories - Divinity Designs Dies: Pierced Frames, A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer; Cream Sequins, X-press It Foam Tape

For my final project today I have a Suit!  Well actually it's a card using the new Suit Jacket Die set!  This is great for men's cards or something more formal like a Graduation!  You'll need the card base dies using Couture Collection Dies - which I've used to cut white card.  Next I've used the Suit Jacket Die set to cut the Jacket, Buttons, Pocket Squares and Bow Tie.  Honestly, it's super easy, the hardest part is deciding what colour combo or paper you want to use!

Paper - Black, White, Blue Card

And last but not least........Bowties are Cool!!!

Did you pick up on my inspiration for this one??  It's Doctor Who!!  Specifically the 11th Doctor who had a penchant for bowties.....and fezzes as well.  :)

Once again I've usde Couture Collection Dies  for the base (I've used cream) and then another to cut the Menswear Material to create the shirt.  Next I've used the Suit Jacket Die set to cut the Jacket, Buttons, Pocket Squares and Bow Tie out of Kraft and Red. I've darkened the jacket buttons by spraying the card with E74 Copic and then die cutting them.  Whether you are inspired by any of the Doctor Who's, Agent 007 or even Willy Wonka's purple suit, you are bound to have a fab time creating these suit cards!

Happy 13th Ally!

Hello Everyone!  Today is my daughter Ally's 13th Birthday!!  My youngest child, my baby, is a teenager.  Where did that time go?  I've decided that a special birthday requires a special card and created a Twist and Pop card for her in pretty pinks and creams.

I've used the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer die for the cream base.  I've used Beautiful Blooms paper and die cut with Pierced Frames dies for the front.  Now I admit, I was doing this late at night and had a chocolate layer underneath and meant to cut the middle piece again with the frames dies to have a small edge showing, but I glued the panel straight down.....sigh!  Across the card I've used Pennant Flags and Treat Tag Dies to cut the notched tags and glued into place.  I've created the circle panel using Fancy Circles, Circles and Pierced Circles.  I've die cut the numbers using Large Numbers and airbrushing with Copic RV95 while still in the die and then popped up on X-press It Foam Tape.  To finish I've added some clear rhinestones to the corners.

Next I made the fun inside!  I've used Matting Rectangle and the A2 Portrait Card Base and Layer die to cut the pink and cream layers.  I've die cut some more Beautiful Blooms paper using the edge of the Scalloped Rectangles Die to create the top and bottom panels.  I've used the Twist and Pop with Layers Dies to create the mechanism (under the pop out panel) and the accordion fold panel and layers.  I've die cut some cream card using Letter A, Letter L and Letter Y and airbrushed with Copic RV95 while still in the die and then glued as shown.  To finish I've added a few cream sequins.
