November Power and Spark
Hello Everyone!! I'm excited to be bringing you this month's Power and Spark Challenge which is a Thankful Challenge! As you know I'm an Aussie, which means that we don't have Thanksgiving here as that is a uniquely North American holiday but that doesn't mean we don't have things to be thankful for. I am and will always be thankful for my dear hubby and gorgeous children, my parents who have always been there for me and my bestie who has been through the highs and lows beside me for the last 30yrs. November also brings the 97th Birthday of my Grandmother, a very, very special lady in my life who I will always adore and be truly thankful and blessed to have in my life. On the world calendar, 11 November 2018 brings the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day - a time to reflect and be thankful for all those who have and are still serving for our country. So what are you thankful for?? Play along with us and make a Thank You or Thanksgiving themed project and link up to the Power Poppy Blog!
I'm also thankful that here Down Under that it is Spring! So I've reached for Flower Bomb and made it very large, added the sentiment at the top and printed it out and coloured it with a range of Copics. It really doesn't need much embellishing at all as those beautiful blooms are taking centre stage, so I've matted it with some cream card, added a pink base with a border punch bottom and a few enamel dots to accent.
Stamps - Flower Bomb (Power Poppy)
Ink - Printer
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Pink
Accessories - Copics, ODBD Double Stitched Rectangles, Martha Stewart Deco Fan Border Punch, Enamel Dots
Want to see what the Bloomies have been thankful about, check them out here.....
Don't forget playing along, linking up gives you the chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree at the Power Poppy store!!
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp and play along with us this month!

You've Got This!
Hello Everyone! It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for another Power and Spark Challenge!! This month our hostess is the lovely Cindy Lawrence who has challenged us to be Inspired by Home! Don't forget, if you play along following the rules on the Power Poppy Blog, you could WIN A $50 Power Poppy Shopping Spree!!!!
I have to admit, I've been a bit liberal with my interpretation and focussed on the colours of my 11yr old daughter's room which is pinks, greens and a splash of purple. Sorry I can't show you a picture - you REALLY don't want to see that right now!!!
I've used a base of pink card, layered with white and topped with some Maja Designs DP. Across this is some white punched with a border punch and topped with the reverse side of the same paper. I've stamped and masked this floral bouquet using Abundant Petals onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV00, RV32, RV34, RV66, G40, G43, G46, E11, E42, E44, E47). I've fussy cut this (although in hindsight I really should have just stamped the individual bits and die cut them all! Heads up - the matching dies are out of stock at the moment but should be back soon!) and popped it up on foam tape. I've stamped the sentiment from M-Powering Words clear stamp set in Versafine Black.
This was a fairly quick card because I was in a bit of a hurry to make a card for someone who needed a little uplifting!
Stamps - Abundant Petals, M-Powering Words (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, White, Maja Designs DP
Accessories - Copics, MS Border Punch, X-press It Foam Tape
What even more inspiration for this month's challenge?? Check out the below blogs!!
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you're inspired to play along with the challenge this month with your chance to WIN!!! Can't wait to see what you make!! :)

I've been inspired by the challenge to Round the corners, used a Round circle die and then there's all those Round lacy die edges and how about a few big Round rhinestones as well!

I've stamped the flower images, bee and sentiment from Bee Kind Toile in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics. I've die cut with Small Circles Dies and matted with So Saffron cut with Lacey Circles Dies and then popped up on X-press It Foam Tape. To finish I've accented with some large rhinestones.
Stamps - Bee Kind Toile (Power Poppy)
Ink - Mememto Tuxedo Black, Dark Yellow

July Power & Spark!
Hello Everyone!! It's the first Friday of a new month and that means it's time for a brand new Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge!! This month our lovely hostess is Ally and she's challenged you all to.....Copy a Bloomie!
What does that mean?? Find a card or project made by any member of the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade (look to the right side of my blog and under the Bloom Brigade pic for the list of names), and do your own take on it! Easy right?! AND - don't forget there is a $50 Shopping Spree to WIN!! Find all the details on the Power Poppy Blog!
I chose TOSHA's beautiful card found HERE to copy! I've used the same layout (different dies though still round) and her idea for seam binding (not something I use very often) and switched out the sequins for buttons. I've used a very different colour palette because it's a cold, wet Winter day here in Australia and I felt like using some warmer hues to pretend it's a little warmer!!
I've used a base of cream and layered with apricot card and some Wild Rose Studio DP. The panel is more cream and more Wild Rose Studio DP. Around this I've added the seam binding and topped with a wooden heart button. I've printed the DIGI image, Sunset Sway onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers. I've cut this out with Pierced Circle Dies and while in the die, I've sponged some ink around the edges. I've matted this with cream card cut with Stately Circles Dies and popped it up on foam tape. To finish I've added some round wooden and brown buttons.
Stamps - Sunset Sway (Power Poppy)
Ink - Printer
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Cream, Apricot, Wild Rose Studio Meadow Harvest DP
Accessories - Copics, ODBD Pierced Circles Dies, Spellbinders Stately Circles, Seam Binding, Buttons, X-press It Foam Tape
Don't miss all today's gorgeous creations, by checking out the POWER POPPY BLOG!
ALSO ~ a heads up about the delay in shipping of stamps and dies and excitingly there is 20% off DIGIS!! Don't forget to use the code VACATIONDIGIS at the checkout!!
That's all from me today, hope you play along this month, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!! :)

Power and Spark Time!
Hello Everyone!!! Are you ready for a brand new Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge???? This month the hostess is yours truly and I decided to FRAME IT UP!!! What does that mean?? Well, you could use a frame for your image on your card, you could create a Polaroid style frame or you could go all out and create a piece and put it in a frame for home decor! Are those clogs starting to move around in your brain yet?? I can't wait to see what ideas you've got!! :)
If that isn't enough to excite you, what if I told you that if folks play along in the Power & Spark and WIN, Marcy upped the ante when it comes to winnings. Now our lucky winner gets a $50 shopping spree to the Power Poppy Shop! Woo Hoo! Play along during May, link up your card on the Power Poppy Blog , make sure you mention and link back to the Power Poppy Challenge and you could win!!
I decided to create TWO cards to show you ideas on how to play this month's challenge! If you look at both cards you'll notice that I used the exact same frame for both cards, just used them differently!
For the first card at the top of this post, I've used a base of Soft Sky and layered with white and some DP and then attached some lavender ribbon. Next I've cut the frame out of X-press It Blending Card and then stamped the edges of the big bouquet from Burst of Kindness all around it and then coloured it with Copics! The sentiment is also from Burst of Kindness and has been stamped with Versafine black, attached the the centre of the card and then popped the frame up on foam tape.
Stamps - Burst of Kindness (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, White, DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, X-press It Foam Tape, Lavender Ribbon
For my second card, I've kept the frame plain, only stamping the sentiment from Artful Display in the corner. The base is created of white and layered with pink card and some DP with two pieces of wide pink ribbon attached. In the middle I've added a piece of DP that sort of looks like wall paper (humour me!!). I've then stamped several plates from Artful Display onto X-press It Blending Card and then coloured with Copic markers. I've then fussy cut each place to create my display! Stamp the sentiment in the corner of the frame and pop up on foam tape, finishing with a big pink bow in the corner.
Stamps - Artful Display (Power Poppy)
Paper - White, X-press It Blending Card, Pink, DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Accessories - Copics, Double Stitched Rectangles, Pink Ribbon, Bow Easy, X-press It Foam Tape
So - are you excited to join in the challenge yet?? Let's see what amazing ideas the Bloom Brigade have used to inspire you today!!

January Power and Spark!
Hello Everyone!!! Have you been waiting for the first Power and Spark Challenge for 2017?? Well the wait is OVER!! Our lovely hostess this month is Stacy and she has a super easy one to kick of the year........WINTER BLOOMS! If you live in the Northern Hemisphere and craving a little colour in your day then this challenge is for you!! If you are like me and live in the Southern Hemisphere where it is the middle of Summer, let those colours burst into full bloom (or perhaps it's a heatwave and you're locked inside with the aircon on trying not to melt pretending that it's actually cooler..... come on Aussies, you know what I'm talking about!!!).
You don't have any Winter Blooms?? CLICK HERE for a link through to an abundance of sets to choose from! Did you know that if you play along with us this month you can WIN a Power Poppy Stamp Set of YOUR CHOICE!!! How awesome is that?! You can find all the details on the Power Poppy Blog!
In Stacy's words.......When winter comes, many of us long to say goodbye to the chill and say hello to those cheerful and fresh spring flowers! Did you know there are lots of blooms that sprout at the end of winter (you can cheat and include early spring as well)? How about camellias, crocus, paperwhites, holly, snowdrops, or poinsettias? Let's see how you can bring these pretty little petals and glorious greens to life and enjoy this last bit of winter as well!
Today I've used Bloomin' Wonderful and stamped the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (B60, B63, B66, Y21, YR30, YR31, C1, W1, E84, E87). I've cut this into a rectangle, matted with River Rock and framed with Wisteria Wonder cut with 5x7 Detailed Scallops. The card is made of white, Wisteria Wonder, Graphic 45 DP and some dark cream May Arts Ribbon. I've attached the image to the front and then stamped the sentiment, also from Bloomin' Wonderful, cut it out with a circle punch and popped it up on foam tape. SIDE NOTE: I *was* going to add some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the corners, but the bottle exploded as a squeezed it......seriously it went EVERYWHERE!!! I tried to rescue it back into the bottle, but it was a disaster - paint was all over my work space, up my arms, all over my clothes.....everywhere!! THANK GOODNESS it missed my card or I would have a heart attack. Once I cleaned up the mess (with the help of Mr 11yrs), I decided to play it safe and reached for Kaisercraft pearls to finish off instead! :P
I wonder if the other Bloomies have had crazy adventures this week like I have?? Better pop by and have a look!

Power Poppy Friday!
Hello Everyone!! It's time for another Power Poppy Friday and a chance to have a peek at some of the creations the Bloom Brigade have been making this week!! I have another Teacher Journal for you today using Power Poppy's Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher digital stamp. I particularly like the digi stamps for journals because you can enlarge them for a bigger journal and then shrink them for the matching card! ;-) This particular journal is for my daughter's yr 3 teacher. Now because this is a 'Sweet Treat' (a gift for someone this festive season), it's also perfect for this month's Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge!! Why don't you join us this month - you could win a Power Poppy Stamp Set of your choice!!
Today is the very last day of the Australia School Year and it's my middle child's last ever day of Primary School! You look back and think where did that time go?? I can't believe he's off to High School next year! (For all the American folks wondering, we don't have a Middle School here, just a middle school section at the High School - he's not a freak genius jumping several grades!)
I covered the journal withe some Kaisercraft paper from my stash, using a spiral punch for the side and sticking it down well with some X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape. Down the side is more Kaiserpaper matted with cream card and tied with some So Saffron ribbon. I've printed the Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher digi image onto X-press It Blending Card and then coloured with Copics (G40, G43, G46, Y21, Y35, Y38, W1, W3, W5, B0000). I've cut this out with Adorning Squares, matting with So Saffron cut with the larger of the dies and glued to the front. To finish I die cut the initials in yellow and added a couple of chocolate coloured pearls to the top.
Here's the matching card I made - instead of putting the initials, I've used the sentiment from Bloomin' Wonderful clear set for the bottom. I've also shrunk the image compared to the size of the one on the journal, but coloured it the same so it would match! :)
Stamps - Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, So Saffron, Cream, Designer Paper from my stash
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Adorning Squares, Alphabet Die, So Saffron Ribbon, Chocolate Pearls, X-press It High Tack Double Sided Tape
Why not check out what my other talented bloomies have been whipping up this week??!!
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you are inspired to stamp! :)

December Power and Spark!
Hello Everyone! It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for another Power and Spark Challenge!! This month our lovely hostess is Christine and she has challenged us to make a Sweet Treat - the idea is to create something that will be a sweet treat for someone else (so think card, tag, hostess gift, etc) designed to help with those quick Christmas gifts. Don't forget; if you play along with the challenge this month you could win a Power Poppy Stamp Set of your choice!!!
If you live in Australia, you'll know that there is also only ONE WEEK of school left, so I've used this challenge to make an end of year teacher gift for my son's teacher! I can't believe that he will be leaving primary school next week and looking forward to High School next year! Where does the time go??
I've gone with a blue colour palette as I know this particular lady loves blue and covered the front of the journal with some Maja Design paper. I've made a panel of Marina Mist card, punching the bottom with a lattice border punch, topped with some more Maja Design paper and then attached some ribbon. I've cut out the name of white card with an alphabet die set and put it across the bottom. The image is a digi called Climbing Clematis and I've printed this on X-press It Blending Card and then coloured it with Copics (G40, G43, G46, B60, B63, B66, Y15, Y17, YR20, YR21, YR24, B01, B0000, B000). I've cut this out with Grand Labels Four (which I think is retired), framed with Marina Mist cut with Elegant Labels Four, white cut with Grand Labels Four and finally Baked Brown Sugar cut with Elegant Labels Four. I've glued this all down and finished with a few white pearls.
Stamps - Climbing Clematis (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Marina Mist, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Grand Labels Four, Elegant Labels Four, MS Lattice Border Punch, White Ribbon, Alphabet Die Set, White Pearls
I wonder what amazing Sweet Treats the Bloomies have been cooking up for this month's challenge? You'll have to swing by and check them out!!
That's all from me today, thanks for popping by and hope you play along this month and are inspired to stamp! :)

Hello Everyone! Today is the first Friday in August and you know what that means.....it's time for a NEW Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge! This month our lovely hostess is JULIE who has challenged us to C.S.I!! No, it’s not what you think. We’re not on the case – we ARE CASE-ing. We are challenging YOU to Copy, Steal, Inspire! All you need to do is pick a Power Poppy creation somewhere in blog land by any designer and be inspired by it. Then, create your own spin on the original design! Just that simple!
So who was my Muse for today's challenge??? It was CINDY! I loved her card from June 3rd and changed up the image and colour palette but kept the style and layout. You can find Cindy's card HERE!
I've used a white base and then added layers of white and FabScraps Enchantment DP across the bottom and wrapped some ribbon around it. I've stamped the flower image from Soothing Sympathy in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (BV31, BV34, BV25, V25, G40, G43, G46, E21). I've cut this out with Small Circle Nestabilities and matted with blue card cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and popped it up on X-press It High Tack Foam Tape. The sentiment from Soothing Sympathy has been stamped directly onto the card in black and I've finished by adding a few pearls and a bow to the ribbon.
Stamps - Soothing Sympathy (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, FabScraps Enchantment DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black

Tall and Rosy
Hello Everyone! It's Australia Day here and most people go to the beach, have a BBQ, spend time with friends, play a little backyard cricket.......what did I do.....make a card of course! LOL!! Actually I did do some other things and enjoy our beautiful Summer weather, but I finished the day with a card using the brand new Power Poppy digi called Everything's Rosy. I've also decided to make this a long card because this month's Power and Spark Challenge is to make a tall card and use a new technique or product! I'm a little late getting around to making the challenge card, but you still have time to play along - but only until January 31st at 8pm!!! By playing along you could WIN a stamp set of your choice from Power Poppy!!! Which set do you have on your wish list????
I've used a base of Wisteria Wonder, layered with white punched both ends with a lattice border punch and topped with Maja Designs DP. Down one side I've attached white and yellow ribbons.
I've printed the image and sentiment from Everything's Rosy onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (V20, V22, V25, V28, C3, C5, Y21, Y26, Y28, BG70, BG73, BG75, E50, E51, E53, G40, G43, G46, E21). It's been cut with Large Oval Nestabilities and matted with more Wisteria Wonder cut with A2 Divine Eloquence and then popped up on foam tape. To finish I've added a bow to the ribbon.
Stamps - Everything's Rosy (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Wisteria Wonder, White, Maja Designs DP

If you have been a follower of my blog for a while, you may have noticed that time time of year I start making covered journals and notebooks. Unlike my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, the end of the school year for Aussie kids is December - usually two weeks before Christmas! As you can imagine, this is a crazy and chaotic time for me with three school aged children! Soooooooo.....I chose to rewind to the Gifts from the Heart Challenge and made a notebook.......which was actually handed over to a teacher TODAY! (I was relieved to hear she loved it!)
I use a Spirax hard cover, spiral bound notebook. I prefer the hard cover, it makes them easier to cover and the spiral binding matches well with my spiral punch. I've covered the notebook with some pretty and fun paper (thinking of the recipient) and punched the side with a spiral punch. I've then attached the paper to the cover with X-press It High Tack Tape to secure it in place. I've then added a panel of white topped with the reverse print from the DP and attached a piece of pink ribbon. I've printed out the image (actually part of the image since I cropped it in photoshop) from Garden Fireworks on X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics and cut it out with Majestic Labels 25 and glued in place. I've cut two circles of card and attached the die cut 'B' in the centre and attached as shown. To finish I've added a couple of rhinestone to the corner.
Stamps - Garden Fireworks (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Pool Party, Random DP from the stash
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25, Circle Dies, Font One Upper Case Alphabet, Pink Ribbon, Clear Rhinestones, X-press It High Tack Tape
There's lots of fun to be had today with such a broad range of challenges to choose from, check out what the team has to inspire you!!
That's all from me today, hope you play along with us and are inspired to stamp! :)

I've made it an ultra easy one - EMBELLISH THIS!! Buttons, Pearls, Rhinestones, Sequins, Ribbon, Brads, Eyelets, Micro Beads....use them simply or in interesting ways. Don’t have any? Make your own! Wrong colour – use your markers to colour them to match your project! Have some fun and play along and don't forget you have the chance to WIN a Stamp Set of your choice!!! :)
I've used this fabby new image from Cozy Cupfuls - those Christmas ornaments were begging to be blinged up!! :)
I've used a base of red, layered with cream and topped with two pieces of Home for the Holidays DP. Across this is some ivory crochet lace, topped with red satin ribbon. I've stamped this adorable tree in a cup image from Cozy Cupfuls in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (G24, G28, G94, G99, E50, E51, E53, E55, R00, R12, R20, R22, R24, R29, Y21, Y26, Y28, YR30, W1). It's been cut out with Large Oval Nestabilities and matted with red cut with A2 Divine Eloquence and popped up on foam tape
I've Embellished with a Prima Poinsettia flower, a bling flourish (underneath the flower), added red pearls to the tree for the Christmas ornaments and then sprinkled a few rhinestones for good measure!! :) Nothing like a bit of Christmas BLING!!!

Bee Love for Power Poppy Friday!
Hello Everyone! Not only is it Power Poppy Friday - it's the first Friday of the month, so that makes it Power Poppy, Power and Spark Challenge time! This month our lovely hostess with the most-ess is JULIE!! Julie has challenged us to a “Bits & Pieces” challenge, which encourages everyone to use just bits and pieces of a stamp image. Stamp a part of the image off the side, punch a part of it out, die cut off the edge. Basically, anything goes if you use just a portion of the image on your card! How fun is that??!! Don't forget by playing along, you could win a stamp set of your choice! For all the deets and how to link up and play along, pop on over to the Power Poppy Blog!
I have used the Asters Abuzz Digi stamp and enlarged it a LOT! You may notice there are a lot more bees than if you just cropped the image.....well I did a bit of Photoshop magic and borrowed the bee at the bottom of the original image, resized it to three different sizes and placed them on the image as shown! Thought a sentiment like 'Bee Love' needed lots of bees! :) I also placed the digi sentiment onto my custom made image, but changed the colour to yellow first by using THIS totally awesome tutorial by Julie! (I have this page permanently bookmarked as a reference!)
So, once I had the digi image the way I wanted it, I've printed it off onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copic Markers (lots of Copic markers - sorry I was in the colouring zone and forgot to note them all down). I've cut it out with Labels 8 and matted it with Pool Party card cut with Decorative Labels 8. I've placed this on a layer of white and attached some yellow ribbon as shown. I've popped this on a piece of folded Pool Party card and finished by adding some bling!
Let's see what the Bloomies have for you today!!
Thanks for popping by and hope you play along with the Power and Spark Challenge with us and that you are inspired to stamp!! :)

Power & Spark: Hang Some Paper
Hello Everyone!! It's the first Friday of the month and that means it's time for a new Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge!! This month our lovely hostess is Leslie who has challenged us to Hang Some Paper.....which means, dive into that pile of scraps (you KNOW what I'm talking about) and use 3 different patterned paper (or more) and make a card and play along with us!! Don't forget, by playing along you can WIN a Power Poppy stamp set of your choice!!! You can find all the deets on the Power Poppy Blog!
I've used paper from the Spring Bloom paper pad and I had lots of scraps in there just waiting to be used! I've taken three coordinating pieces to create a background panel layered on top of some Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and white card. Around this I've added a piece of mesh and topped it with green ribbon. I've stamped the Flip Flops Best Day Ever in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (RV25, RV29, YR12, YR18, YG11, YG13, YG17) and cut these out with scissors. I've created a 'beach towel' by rolling a piece of DP (a plainer piece from the same paper pad) and snipping the edge to create a fringe. I've stamped the sentiment, also from Best Day Ever, in Memento Rich Cocoa and glued it to the front of the card. I've popped the flip flops up on foam tape and finished with a few dew drops.
Stamps - Best Day Ever (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, White, Kaisercraft Spring Bloom DP
Accessories - Copics, Mesh, Green Ribbon, Dew Drops, X-press It Foam Tape
Pop on by these Bloomies Blogs and see how they've used paper for today's challenge!
That's all from me today, I sure hope you're inspired to stamp and you'll play along with us this month!
