Hello Everyone. Today's card is one I made with sorrow. As this post goes live, I will be with my BFF of 24yrs who today says her farewells to her father. This particular card has been made for her mother. I've known this family since I was a teenager and spent a lot of time in their home and remember this man for the little things, quietly reading the paper, playing scrabble with his mother (who lived nearby), his love (at the time) of Jive Bunny and mostly, taking his wife ballroom dancing. They would dress up and go out to the balls and love to dance. Many years have passed since those days and these last years have not been kind to this special couple and now he is gone.
This lady likes blue, so it's with the calm colours of blues and cream that I've created my card. I've used a base of Very Vanilla and overlaid a panel of vanilla that has been cut with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One. The next panel is Baja Breeze stamped with Grand Damask Background in Memento Tuxedo Black. The feature panel is from JustRite's Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels Two, stamped in Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics (G40, G82, G85, B60, B63, B66, E51). It's been cut with JustRite's Vintage Labels Two die and matted with vanilla cut with Spellbinders Lacey Ovals and popped up on foam tape. To finish I've added some Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the top corners.
Stamps - Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels Two, Grand Damask Background (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One, Lacey Ovals, JustRite Vintage Labels Two, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, X-press It Foam Tape.
Thanks so much for visiting today.

JustRite and Faber Castell Hop!
Hello Everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the JustRite Papercraft and Faber Castell Mixed Media Hop!! Not only is there a feast for the eyes along the hop today......but you can WIN PRIZES!!!!
To win one of today's prize packages --- leave comments on each designers blog post and two lucky people will be selected from the chosen blogs as the WINNERS!!!! Comments will be open until March 22nd at midnight USA EST. What will they win??? How about these......
Well Mixed Media has usually scared me a bit - I'm not normally a 'messy hands' kind of crafter, but I have to say it was quite liberating to not be so particular and just let go! So I didn't just dabble, I completely jumped off the deep end and made a......CANVAS!!! I know, I shocked myself too!! ;-)
(I completely forgot to take step by step pics while I was making this - so I've recreated it for the tutorial, but it won't look 'exactly' like the original, sorry about that!)
I've used a 6" x 8" Canvas (15cm x 20cm) and covered it with Impasto Medium (I didn't have Gesso, but figured this would work). Then I've torn up strips of paper, attaching them with more Impasto. It didn't matter that it made the papers more 'white' since I was going to cover them anyway.
I've made sure this was dry using my heat gun and then scribbled on some Faber-Castell Gelatos - Metallic Mint, Metallic Blueberry and Metallic Grape and started to blend with a wet paintbrush (it was included in the Mix & Match Metallic Gelatos set).
If it is a bit heavy in a particular area, you can simply lighten it by brushing it with a bit more water, or using a baby wipe!
Next I stamped the Grand Damask Background stamp and the 'Butterfly' and 'Dreams' sentiments from Winged Vintage Labels Two & Three set with black Brilliance ink all over the canvas.
The butterfly from Winged Vintage Labels Two & Three has been stamped twice in Brilliance ink and dried well and then I've scribbled some Metallic Melon and Gold Gelato over them, blending with a wet brush.
I've made sure the canvas was very dry before the next step. I've then used a piece of white card cut with Spellbinders Basic Lattice die and placed it over one side and brushed on some white paste to add some dimension. The butterflies have been cut out with the matching Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die and attached to the canvas.
Finally I've stamped three words from the same stamp set and hand cut them and attached them to the canvas and accented the project (when dry!) with a Gold Pitt Artist pen (from the Mix & Match Metallic Mixed Media Sampler) - LOVE this pen!! :) And there you have it - my very first Mixed Media project!! :)
Want even more inspiration???? Stop by these amazing blogs and see what incredible projects await you......

I've then cut another circle with just the silhouette, cut it out and popped it up in the middle. To finish I've added white pearls to each of the corners.

JustRite Release Day 3 - Floral Vintage Labels Two
Hello Everyone and welcome to the JustRite Papercraft release for Floral Vintage Labels Two! I *love* flowers, especially if I can colour them, so of course I just loved this gorgeous set!! I'm also doing a little sneak peak of this fabby background stamp called Grand Damask Background as well!!! :)
I've created a base of Very Vanilla using Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle Nestabilities. Next I've created a layer of pink bazzill and white card stamped with Grand Damask Background that I then airbrushed with E51 Copic Marker. Both layers were trimmed with a corner rounder. Next I stamped the flower from Floral Vintage Labels Two in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (RV000, RV52, RV55, E51, E53, G40, G43, G46) and fussy cut it. I've stamped the sentiment from the same set and created a notched tag. To finish I've added a few cream pearls to the top corner.

Beautiful World Tour Bookmarks!
Hello Beautiful World Tourists!!! Welcome to another Flourishes Beautiful World Tour! This month our hostess is Sasha and she has challenged us to make Bookmarks! We are also super excited to announce that our tour has a new destination......NORTHERN IRELAND!!! Please give our newest team member Bridget a big welcome to the Flourishes Team! If you've made your way here from Bridget's Blog, then you are in the right place, if not, you can catch all of the fabulous projects by starting back at the Flourishes Blog!
I have chosen Flourishes Letters in Blossom set to create three corner bookmarks! I've followed the step by step instructions found at Splitcoaststampers HERE and began by using a square of Baja Breeze cardstock punched with Arch Lattice Border Punch. Next I've added some white card that I've pierced on the edges and then a piece of pink card, punched along the bottom and topped with MME Lavender DP. I've stamped the letter K from Letters in Blossom in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured it with Copics (RV000, RV52, RV55, G40, G43, G46, YG61, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y35, Y38). I've cut out with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted it with a piece of pink cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities.
Since I had such fun making this one, I decided to make a couple of extras! :)
I hope you've enjoyed your stop here in Australia, the next stop on the tour is Canada!
