Yellow Roses

Hello Everyone!!  This week, the kids went back to school - OMGosh how much QUIETER is my house!!!  LOL!!!  They were happy to go back and see all their friends though and I was happy to have some crafty time!!  :)

I've used this time to make a Sympathy Card using the Featured Stamper challenge as inspiration!  I've cased Kim's For Me card, changing the layout and flowers but keeping the floral theme and similar colours and lace.  It's never easy to have to make this kind of card, but I just adore these roses found in the new With Sympathy set by JustRite - just wait, you'll see them on birthdays, friendship, thank you cards!!!  :)  This time I'd coloured them in yellow and gone with an muted, elegant colour palette which I thought would be perfect for this occasion.

I've created the base with Fawn Bazzill and layered with white and more Fawn.  The next layer is another piece of white, this time stamped with the Fleur de Lis Background Stamp by JustRite in Memento Desert Sand (what an awesome match this was for the cardstock!).  Across this I've added another piece of Fawn Bazzill and topped with a piece of white crochet lace.  Next I've stamped the roses from With Sympathy in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (Y00, Y21, Y35, Y38, G20, G21, G24).  It's been cut out with Labels 18 Nestabilities and I've lightly sponged some Desert Sand around the edges and then stamped the sentiment also from With Sympathy in Memento Rich Cocoa at the top.  I've attached it with foam tape and added a few Kaisercraft Chino Pearls to the top corners.

Stamps - With Sympathy, Fleur de Lis Background (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Fawn Bazzill, White.
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Desert Sand
Accessories - Copics, Labels 18 Nestabilities, Fiskars Lace Border Punch, May Arts White Crochet Lace, Kaisercraft Chino Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!!!  :)

FS258 Inspired by Music

Hello Everyone!!!  I had to make a Masculine birthday card for a Music Teacher and decided to use this week's Featured Stamper challenge as inspiration.  I've chosen THIS card by Holstein and have modified the layout somewhat and changed the stamps, but kept the colours and theme the same.

I've used a base of Riding Hood Red, layered with white and then another piece of white stamped with JustRite's new Shabby Music Background Stamp in Tuxedo Black.  Down this I've added a wide red ribbon topped with a knotted piece of black grosgrain.  For my feature panel, I've stamped Musical Notes Labels 20 twice, once in Rhubard Stalk, once in Tuxedo Black.  The red one has been cut out with Labels 20 Nestabilities.  The black one I've coloured the centre with Copics and cut it out, popping it up on foam tape.  Next I stamped the bird (also from Musical Notes Labels 20), coloured with Copics, cut it out and adhered to the side of the panel.  I've created the customised sentiment using the now retired 25pt font and made it into a notched tag.  I've finished by added a few black rhinestones to the top corner.

Stamps - Musical Notes Labels 20, Shabby Music Background, Times New Roman 25pt Font (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Riding Hood Red, White.
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Rhubarb Stalk
Accessories - Copics, Labels 20 Nestabilities, Red Ribbon, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Want2Scrap Black Rhinestones, Scissors, Foam Tape.

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting!!
