FS134 - Father's Day and RAKS!!

Well it's that time of year again.......Father's Day is this Sunday and I have to try to think up THREE Man Cards! Bleh!! No pretty pearls or punches to play with and definitely no flowers - how dreary!!! :(

Today's card is inspired by this week's Featured Stamper - akronstamperdpk! I chose her Summer Recipe card - I really liked the layout and thought I could make it work for a FD card.

I started with a white base and layered with some Chocolate Chip and then some Kaisercraft Cafe Culture DSP (LOVE this paper range!) - two pieces that I then sliced on the angle. Of course I don't seem to have a simple Father's Day sentiment - so I created my own using JustRite's Times New Roman Font and Times New Roman Lowercase Font and the Rectangular Stamper. The beauty of the JustRite Font is you can create ANY kind of sentiment you want (with the spelling you want - which is very handy when you're an Aussie and things are spelt differently here!).

The image is from SU's retired For Father set that was stamped in Jet Black Stazon and coloured with markers and a blender pen and then cut using the Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities. While still in the die, I sponged around the image with some Close to Cocoa ink. I then layered it on a piece of Close to Cocoa cut with the same die set and popped it all up on foam tape. I finished off by adding some knotted twine and some Topaz Oregon Raindrops that my wonderful friend Michelle (aka sf9erfan) sent me today!!!! Thanks girlie!!!! :)

The other two pictures are two wonderful RAKS that arrived in my mailbox today!!!! The first is from Michelle - check out all that stuff!!!! K&Co paper, Basic Grey paper, Oregon Raindrops and some Angel Wings Shimmerz!!!!! I was sooooooo excited!!!! :)

I also recieved this lovely card from the devine Anne Ryan on SCS!!!! What a wonderful surprise and I just loved it!!!!

And don't miss the JustRite Blog Hop this month on the 17th/18th September!!! It's so big we had to make it over two days!!!! This month it's all about FONT and as you've seen by today's post, you can never have enough font to create that one of a kind sentiment or personalise a card, gift or project!!!

Well, this turned into quite a long post didn't it? That's all for today and thanks for visiting!!! :)

With Sympathy

This card is going to my Mum who sadly lost one of her closest friends this week. Although it was expected, death is never an easy thing to deal with. Colleen was a wonderful lady, talented papercrafter and someone we will not forget.

I started using this week's Mojo sketch - but then I turned the main panel so I guess this doesn't count anymore! It does however, qualify for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge ---- to use pearls! (Can you think of any other challenge that could be any better for me!!)

I started with a base of Very Vanilla, layered with black bazzill and then two pieces of DCWV La Creme DSP. Over the join I've placed a piece of Very Vanilla with one edge punched with the Fiskars 'Lace' punch. On top of that is more black bazzill and then a piece of one inch cream satin ribbon. The main panel has been stamped using JustRite's beautiful Thinking of You Set in Jet Black Stazon and then cut using the Large Oval Nestabilities which is then layered on black bazzill cut using the Label 4 Nestabilities and popped up on foam tape. To finish off I've added some Prima flowers that my dear friend Michelle (aka sf9erfan, thanks girlie!!) sent me, added some Martha Stewart Branch punches and centred with a black pearl. I've also added some Kaisercraft Black Pearls to the top corner and some Latte Pearls to embellish the Label 4 die.

Stamps - Thinking of You (JustRite)

Paper - Very Vanilla, Black Bazzill, DCWV La Creme DSP

Ink - Jet Black Stazon

Accessories - Large Oval Nestabilities, Label 4 Nestabilities, Black and Latte Kaisercraft Pearls, Prima Flowers, Martha Stewart Branch Punch, Fiskars Lace border punch, 1 inch cream satin ribbon.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!! :)

FS133 - Jojot's Flutterby!!!

I can't believe that it's been several days since my last post! Things have been busy and my mojo is sluggish!!! :( I decided to kick start the mojo with this week's Featured Stamper Challenge - this week the honour goes to Jojot! What an awesome gallery she has and I think I might even do another one (or two!). I chose her Flutterby Delight card changing the colours, image (although I kept the butterfly theme), different border punch and modified the two panels making it one panel separated by a ribbon.

I started with a base of green bazzill, layered with Very Vanilla and some 'Madeline' DSP by K&Co. The Vanilla layer had the bottom punched using the EK success 'Fleur de Lis' border punch and then four of the cut outs were used to embellish the corners. The butterfly is from Inkadinkdo's 'Gem Stone Insects' and has been stamped using Opera Pink versacolor ink on Vanilla card, cut out and popped up on foam tape. The Vanilla layer under it has been cut out using the Small Oval Nestabilities and embossed using 'Floral Screen' EF. That is matted by more green bazzill cut with the Large Oval Nestabilities and then matted again with some Vanilla cut and embossed with the new Label 5 Nestabilities. Finished off by adding some green satin ribbon through the middle, embellishing with some Blush Kaisercraft pearls on the ribbon and in the centres of the corner embellishments.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!! :)

I've Created a Monster!!! :)

It all started when I made three Twilight bookmarks for some of my online book buddies - since then I've had orders for EIGHT more!!!! YIKES!!!

These two are going to my buddies Judy and Mary. Mary went to the Vampire Baseball event in Portland and actually got to PLAY on the field with cast and crew ---- can you believe it!!!! We were all jealous!!!! :)

Anyway, the first started with a black bazzill base, layered with red bazzill. The image is from Artful Inkables Into the Moonlight which is stamped in Jet Black Stazon on watercolour paper. I've used Real Red and Mellow Moss ink and a light grey marker to colour it in and then cut it out using the Small Oval Nestabilities and matted in black using the Large Oval Nestabilities. Across the bottom I've stamped the flourish from Fictionally Inspired and then added the Team Edward (from the same set) which was cut out using the Label 4 Nestabilities. Finished off by adding some red satin ribbon.

The second one started with a base of white and layered with red bazzill. I then cut two squares using the Square Nestabilities - one white, one black. I then stamped Vampire Baseball from Fictionally Inspired in Jet Black Stazon across the middle and punched the corners out for the bases. Then I stamped the baseball bat and ball from Into the Moonlight and cut it out, adding a little bit of red to it and glueing it to the bottom. I finished off by adding the Team Edward sentiment again in Jet Black Stazon, pierced the corners (don't know if you can see that in the picture though), and attaching some black satin ribbon.

Hope the girls like them!!! That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!! :)

Thank You So Much...

Hello everyone! Before I get started on my card I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to all of you who have left comments, sent emails and made phone calls about the accident that my son and I were involved in. I can't tell you how touched I have been by the overwhelming support I have received. Thank you so very much to all of you! {hugs} You'll be happy to know that the stiffness is much better and we are recovering very well.

Today's card is going to one of the school Mums who stopped within minutes of the accident and stayed with us until the ambulance took us to the hospital and then took all the stuff out of the car (carseats, pram, school bag etc....) and dropped it to my house. I chose to use this week's Weekend Sketch Challenge as inspiration.

I started with a base of Kiwi Kiss, layered with white and topped that with two pieces of Raspberry Tart DSP. The sentiment is from the retired SU set Warmest Regards - one of the sets I use a lot because of it's beautiful script and small, useful size - stamped in Jet Black Stazon. This GORGEOUS image is from the brand new August release from Our Daily Bread Designs called Happy Birthday. (Yes, I know this isn't a birthday card, but honestly - couldn't you use this beautiful watering can for all sorts of occasions??) I've stamped it in Jet Black Stazon and coloured it with markers and then cut it out with circle nestabilities and popped the whole panel up on foam tape. I finished off by adding three Kaisercraft Snow pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - Happy Birthday (ODBD), Warmest Regards (SU)

Paper - Kiwi Kiss, White, Rose Red, Raspberry Tart DSP

Ink - Jet Black Stazon

Accessories - Markers, blender pen, Large Classic Circle and Large Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, foam tape, Kaisercraft Snow pearls.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!! :)

The HUGE JustRite Blog Hop!!!

Hello Everyone!!!! Welcome to this huge Christmas Blog Hop!!!! Not only are there projects from the JustRite Design Team, but we also have so many other talented women joining us for this amazing release!!!! Today JustRite are releasing SIX awesome Christmas Sets and I have chosen to showcase this gorgeous Christmas Joy Set. I decided to make a matching set of easy to produce Christmas items - a Card, a Gift Tag, Placecard and Christmas Cracker.

The Christmas Cracker is made of a tube of cardboard, filled with an assortment of goodies and wrapped in red tissue paper and tied off with some red and gold ribbon. Around the middle is some Basic Grey Wassail DSP and I've topped it with a JustRite centrepiece. I've stamped the 'Joy' centre from Christmas Joy and border twice in Always Artichoke, although the middle I've taken off the colour with a blender pen for the ribbon, sentiment and the berries and coloured them in Ruby Red. I then cut out both the outer and inner ovals with the Large Oval Nestabilities and popped it up the centre with foam tape.

Next the place card I folded a piece of white card and punched the edges with the SU scallop punch and added a strip of Wassail DSP across it and then added tiny Red Kaisercraft pearls to the peaks of the scallops. The name has been stamped using the Trompe Uppercase Font and Trompe Lowercase Font in Jet Black Stazon. The image has been stamped from Christmas Joy in Always Artichoke, once again removing some of the colour with a blender pen and colouring the sentiment and berries in Ruby Red and popping up the centre.

The Gift Tag has been made with a piece of white card with the corners cut to make a tag shape and then the bottom punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. Once again I added a strip of Wassail DSP and the Red Kasiercraft Pearls to the peaks. This time I stamped this super cute penguin from Christmas Joy with the instructions on the border telling the recipient not to open their gift until Christmas! I've coloured him in with markers and popped the entire oval and scallop layer up on foam tape.

Finally I made a matching, easy to reproduce Christmas card using all the same products. The base is Always Artichoke card, layered with white and some Wassail DSP. The red panel is some Ruby Red stamped with a poinsettia image and tied with some white satin ribbon. The image panel is also from Christmas Joy and has been stamped in Jet Black Stazon and coloured with markers. The centre once again has been popped up and I've finished off by adding a few more Red Kaisercraft Pearls to the corners.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today and there are SO MANY more to look at by following the blog list below to these incredibly talented women!!!!

Some News....

Well I didn't get to finish the last of the Verve Sketches......my 7yr old son and I were involved in a 3 car accident Friday afternoon (our time). Our car had to be towed and we were both taken to hospital in an ambulance. Let me stress that we are both OK and cleared of any major damage, although we are still both stiff and sore this morning and the shock of it has hit home a bit. It wasn't our fault as we were waiting to turn into a side street and had no idea it was coming so we didn't brace ourselves and we were flung forward and back again quite hard. My poor son was screaming that his head was hurting. Thankfully he still wears a full body harness while sitting on a booster seat so he was a protected as we could have him. I thank God that we are OK and that we were not badly hurt and that we had the support of some of the school Mums who saw us and stopped to help - one even cooked us dinner! God is good and sends the support we need!!

That being said, I don't think I'll have anything new to upload until Monday when the JustRite Christmas Blog Hop will be happening!!! There are going to be SIX Christmas sets revealed in a variety of sizes and not just by the Design Team - we have another 22 friends joining us in this huge event!!!! So don't forget to stop on by on Monday 8am US EST (10pm Australian EST) and see all the goodies the girls have lined up for you!!!

Thanks for visiting - and don't forget to buckle up!!!!

AVS204 Birthday Cupcake...

It's another Verve Sketch Challenge card! This one is for the forth sketch and I've also combined Jackie's challenge to use sewing on a card and Amber's challenge to make a birthday card. I had trouble trying to get a good photo of this one so excuse the picture!

I started with a base of green bazzill, layered with white and Basic Grey Porcelain DSP which I then sewed around the edge. The next layer is pink bazzill that has been cut using my brand new Labels 8 Nestabilities and then embossed with 'Script' EF. The sentiment is from SU's Birthday Whimsy - because I don't have any Verve birthday sentiments - stamped in Old Olive. The cupcake is from Verve's Cupcake Affair and has been stamped in Jet Black Stazon and coloured with Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Creamy Caramel and cut it out with the Small Circle Nestabilities then I pierced around the circle. It was then matted with pink cut out with the Large Circle Nestabilities and then the Porcelain DSP layer was cut out with the Blossom Nestabilities. The icing (frosting) has then been covered in Opal Shimmerz to give it a sparkly look and I've added Kaisercraft Snow pearls to each of the flower centres. The whole panel was popped up on foam tape. Finally I finished by adding some white satin ribbon across the bottom and made the bow with my Bow Easy!

Stamps - Cupcake Affair (Verve), Birthday Whimsay (SU ret.)

Paper - Green bazzill, white, pink bazzill, Basic Grey Porcelain DSP

Ink - Jet Black Stazon, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel

Accessories - Small and Large Classic Circle Nestabilities, Blossom Nestabilities, Labels 8 Nestabilities, Script EF, Kaisercraft Snow pearls, Opal Shimmerz, White Satin Ribbon, Foam tape, Sewing Machine.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!! :)

AVS203 Beautiful You...

This is the third card for the Anni-VERVE-sary sketch challenges. I meant to put stitching on it......but then forgot....whoops!!!

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with some soft aqua bazzill, attaching some ivory satin ribbon across the bottom and making a bow with my Bow Easy. The next layer is some more Very Vanilla with one end punched with the Fiskars 'Lace' border punch and topped with this gorgeous French Flea Market DSP by My Mind's Eye. The main panel is the flip side of that same paper matted with more aqua bazzill. In the bottom corner I've stamped 'Beautiful You' (from the Verve set with the same name) and around the flower, the flourishes from Fairy Tales (also Verve) all in Close to Cocoa ink. Finally I added this gorgeous Prima Flower that I've had hoarded in my stash for a while. I am seriously trying NOT to hoard stuff, but it's a hard habit to break!!! :)

Stamps - Beautiful You, Fairy Tales (Verve)

Paper - Very Vanilla, soft aqua bazzill, French Flea Market DSP (MME)

Ink - Close to Cocoa

Accessories - Prima Flower, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Fiskars 'Lace' border punch.

Don't forget that there is Blog Candy every day over at JustRite and that we are having our HUGE Blog Hop this Monday - it's not just the Design Team, we've got lots of our friends joining in!!!!

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!!! :)

The next panel is more paper from the same range matted with more aqua cardstock. The two small panels are strips of Very Vanilla tied with Sage Shadow grosgrain ribbon (many thanks to my bestie Pam for sending it to me!!!) and the bows were tied with my Bow Easy! The main panel has been stamped using Verve's Beautiful You set in brown on vanilla and cut using the Classic Oval Nestabilities and matted using the Scalloped Oval Nestabilities in Tangerine Tango and popped up on foam tape. Finally I added orange and aqua flowers to the side and embellished with the Blush pearl centre.

The image is from the brand new Autumn Blessings set from JustRite Stampers and has been stamped in Jet Black Stazon on Very Vanilla and coloured with markers and a blender pen and then cut out with Classic Oval Nestabilities. I mounted this on some Riding Hood Red that has been cut using the Label 1 Nestabilities and then paper pierced around the oval. This was placed over a piece of dark brown satin ribbon. Twilight Trio...

Here is a fun project I made for my Twilight loving friends from our Book Forum!!! After I recieved these cool stamps from Artful Inkables I asked if anyone wanted a bookmark - so far only three takers but I hope they like them!!

The first one is a base of white, layered with red bazzill and stamped the sentiment (from Fictionally Inspired) at the bottom in black. The main panel is an image from Into the Moonlight which I stamped in black on white. The apple is part of another stamp that I stamped in black on watercolour paper and coloured with an inkpad and an aqua pen and then cut out and glued to the top of the panel.

The second one is a base of red and layered with white. The white has been stamped over and over with the feathers. Then I stamped the bottom sentiment in Real Red at the bottom. The sentiment panel has also been stamped in Real Red and then cut using the Classic Oval Nestabilities and mounted on a piece of black bazzill cut with the Scallop Oval Nestabilities.

The last one is going to my Werewolf loving friend. The base is also red and layered with black bazzill. Then I used my brand new Martha Stewart Embossing Zig-Zag punch that my friend brought back from the USA (a week later I found out that it is now available at Spotlight! About time someone in Australia got Martha Stewart!!!) across the bottom of the bookmark. The wolf image was stamped in black on Watercolour paper and coloured with markers and a blender pen and then cut out and glued to the front. The sentiment has been stamped in black and cut out with the Classic Oval Nestabilities.

All of them had the top punched with the horizontal slot punch and tied some red satin ribbon through the tops.

Stamps - Into the Moonlight, Fictionally Inspired (Artful Inkables)

Paper - White, Black, Red

Ink - Real Red, Black

Accessories - Markers, blender pen, aqua pen, MS Zig-Zag border punch, red satin ribbon, Horizontal slot punch, Classic Oval Nestabilities (lg), Scallop Oval Nestabilties (lg), scissors.

Featured Stamper - VA Sunshine!!!!

Hi Everyone! I am sooooooo late doing this week's Featured Stamper Challenge, but I really wanted to get one done because this week the honour went to the lovely Teresa (aka VA. Sunshine) who has a FANTASTIC gallery to choose from. It was so hard to settle on one card, but in the end I chose her Have Faith card. I really like the CAS cards, but seem to have trouble making them myself - so this is about as CAS as I get!! :) I changed almost all the card, colours, theme, removed the sentiment, changed the main panel shape and size.
I started with a white card base, layered with black and then more white that had been embossed with Swiss Dots. The middle panel is some gorgeous 'Ebony and Ivory' paper by Kaisercraft that has been matted with black and then the top and bottom edges have been punched with the Fiskars 'Lace' border punch. I also knotted some black satin ribbon around the bottom of the panel. The main panel was stamped using the 'Wedding' stamp set by Inkadinkado in Jet Black Stazon and cut with the Large Petite Oval Nestabilities and backed with foam tape and popped over a piece of black cut using the Label 4 Nestabilities. Finished off by adding three black pearls to the bottom corner.
Stamps - Wedding (Inkadinkado)
Paper - Black, White, Ebony and Ivory DSP
Ink - Jet Black Stazon
Accessories - Lg Petite Oval Nestabilities, Label 4 Nestabilities, Fiskars 'Lace' border punch, black satin ribbon, black pearls (Kaisercraft), foam tape.
That's all for today, thanks for visiting!! :)

Mojo98 Pink Birthday Wishes

I had to make a card for my Mother-in-law to give to her mother and as soon as I saw this week's Mojo Monday Sketch, I knew it would be perfect! I'm a little late playing because my 4yr old hasn't been well and then my computer decided it wasn't going to behave.....but I finally made it! :)

I started with a base of Pink Pirouette and layered with white (pierced) and some Bella Rose DSP. The square panel is more pirouette layered with white and some more Bella Rose DSP. On top of that is another layer of pirouette that has been cut using the Label 3 Nestabilities and pierced around the circle. The circle has been stamped using JustRite's 2" Stamper with Bonus Flower Center and 15 pt Font. My MIL told me what she'd like it to say (and no, Mum is spelt correct.....we don't say MOM over here! :) ) - so I stamped it in black on white twice and then coloured the flowers with Old Olive and Pretty in Pink ink and cut one of them out and popped it up with foam dots in the centre. I finished off with some of this luscious pink satin ribbon and made the bow using my Bow-Easy and then added some Snow Kaisercraft pearls to each corner of the square panel.

Stamps - 2" Wooden Stamper with Flower Center and 15 pt Font (JustRite)

Paper - White, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose DSP

Ink - Black, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive

Accessories - Label 3 and Circle Nestabilities, blender pen, paper piercer and mat pack, pink satin ribbon, bow easy, Kaisercraft pearls, pop dots.

That's all for now, thanks for visiting!! :)

The white circle underneath is cut using circle nestabilties and embossed with Floral Screen EF (not that you can see it very well) and then matted with a Kiwi Kiss layer cut with the scalloped circle nestabilties. I've added some hot pink gingham ribbon - knotting the bottom one - across the bottom. Finally I've added some Kiwi Kiss corners cut using the provocraft 'Vintage' dies and adding a Snow Kaisercraft pearl to each.

Stamps - Elegant Cheer (SU), Gem Stone Insects (Inkadinkado)
