2S4Y46 Singing Cardinal

Today started off OK and got steadily worse as the day wore on - 2 of my kids are sick, this afternoon the dreaded thing got me and now my hubby is coming down with it too!  :(  I can only pray that it doesn't last too long - it's no fun being sick in the middle of Summer!  I started this card this morning and was determined to finish it today before this cold took hold!  I was inspired by this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch 46 - which made me think of the new Sing for Joy set by ODBD because that vertical verse would be perfect for that side panel!!  :)

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with Close to Cocoa (pierced around the edge) and some retired SU DSP.  I stamped the Cardinal from Sing for Joy in Jet Black Stazon on Watercolour paper and coloured with markers and an aqua pen for the cardinal and then used a blender pen for the branch.  I cut the cardinal out with the Label 8 Nestabilities and I also sponged some Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa around the panel.  Next I took the Eyelet Pendant set by Spellbinders and cut out the smaller circle in Always Artichoke and put it to the right hand side of the main panel.  I then stamped the verse from the same set in Always Artichoke and was stoked to find that it fit perfectly inside the Ribbon Tags Trio 2 die!!  Woohoo!!!  Don't you love it when that happens!!!  :)  Attached the verse with some ivory satin ribbon over the top of the pendant die and finished by adding some Kaisercraft Latte pearls to each corner of the card and each side of the pendant die cut.

Stamps - Sing for Joy (ODBD)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Watercolour Paper, ret. SU DSP
Ink - Jet Black Stazon, Always Artichoke, Real Red
Accessories - Label 8 Nestabilities, Ribbon Tags Trio and Eyelet Pendant Spellbinders, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Kaisercraft Latte Pearls, Aqua Pen, Blender Pen, Markers.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

So sorry to hear you and your family are sick Kathy - you're right it's misserable in summer!!!
(I'm not too sure we've had a proper summer it's still so unsettled).
I really like your card especially that vertical sentiment!! I can't think why there aren't more around.

Sorry to hear the family isn't feeling well, and even worse that you are sick because it isn't a good thing when mama is sick. Hopefully it will pass quickly!

Wonderfully coloured cardinal and what a score that the sentiment panel fits on the label die - simple pleasures, right LOL! Love the sponging on the image panel to soften things up a bit too. Well done.

You had me giggling regarding the accuracy of your comment about it being more fun to watch me than the event :D I do believe you are quite right LOL! My brother took me to a hockey game once and said he would never do so again because I was jumping up and down and cheering so much - I told him it was getting involved in the game and supporting my team - grin. My daughter won't stand anywhere near me when I watch my son play soccer because she says I yell too much (and yes, my voice is rather loud). Had to inform her I was cheering loudly and not yelling LOL! What can I say, one of the hazards of being competitive - grin :D And yes, the cat has recovered, though I'm sure he will get scared a few more times before the Games are over.
