Soothing Sympathy

Hello Everyone!!  Exciting times today as the Bloom Brigade bring you Day 1 of the brand new Power Poppy Release!!  Today we bring you..... Soothing Sympathy!

http://powerpoppy.com/products/soothing-sympathy

We know it has been a while since the last clear stamp set release and many of you will know that Marcy - owner and illustrator of Power Poppy lost her dear mother in February.  Losing a loved one is never easy and it's always hard to find the words to bring comfort to those grieving.  This set has beautiful images and soothing sentiments perfect for those difficult occasions when you just want the recipient to know that you care.

There are a few images to choose from in Soothing Sympathy, but I was drawn to the butterfly.  I don't know if this is the case in all countries (or even all hospitals for that matter), but when my Uncle passed away in the palliative unit two years ago, they put a picture of a butterfly on the door.  It's a way of letting people know, without having to say the words.  So when I saw the butterfly, that's what I wanted to use.  There was also this curvy spring of flowers and I thought how nice it would be to put the two together with the sentiment underneath.  It's been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (YR01, YR12, YR16, YR18, B00, B12, B14, YG61, YG63, YG67) the cut with Circle Nestabilities and matted with Marina Mist cut with Tear Drop Circles.

The rest of the card is fairly simple made with Marina Mist, white and Maja Designs DP, add some ribbon and a bow, a pretty border and finish with a few Crystal Drops in the corners.

Stamps - Soothing Sympathy (Power Poppy)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Marina Mist, Maja Designs DP

That's all for today, make sure you pop back tomorrow to see what we have on Day 2, you're going to love it!!  Thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp!!  :)

Oh, Kathy, what a stunning card, and I love the soothing colors and gorgeous layout! I love the idea of the butterfly on the door when your uncle passed...leaving no words necessary. Your butterfly is so beautifully colored, and I love the sentiment -- one I shall use a lot. Beautiful finishing touches with the border punch and the sweet satin ribbon. I love it all, my friend! Looking forward to seeing more gorgeous cards tomorrow. Hugs, sweet friend!
