Featured Stamper Lillies

How excited was I to see this week's Featured Stamper is none other than my ODBD sister - Angie Crockett!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!  Congrats GF - you are so deserving of this honour!!!!  :)  I didn't have to go far when I decided to case her Lily of the Valley card.  I kept the same image, bow feature, piercing and similar green/white colours.  I modified the layout (I swear it started off more similar but morphed into something completely different!), added some layers, pearls and different sentiment.

I started with a base of Hazel Bazzill and layered with white (pierced edges) and some MME French Flea Market DSP.  Then I stamped both the Lily of the Valley and Sentiment from ODBD's Easter Blessings - which is being released TOMORROW!!!!  Make sure you pop on by for the blog hop starting 8am US EST or 11pm AU EST!!!  I coloured the lillies with markers and a blender pen (old olive, always artichoke, sage shadow and cut it out with Small Circle Nestabilities.  I pierced the edge and then matted it with a Label 1 Hazel Bazzill die cut.  Next I added the side flourishes (which are actually the ends from the largest tag out of Spellbinders Fancy Tags) and popped the whole panel up on foam tape.  Then I notched the sentiment and attached it to the bottom of the card, adding a May Arts White Satin Ribbon bow made with my Bow Easy to the end of the panel.  To finish I added some small Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to each of the corners of the feature panel.

Stamps - Easter Blessings (ODBD)
Paper - Hazel Bazzill, White, MME French Flea Market
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small Circle and Label 1 Nestabilities, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, May Arts White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls.

That's all for today, hope you pop by tomorrow for the blog hop!!!  :)

Nesting...

Hello everyone!!!  Today I have made a Gable Box and matching card set to showcase the February released set called Nest.  I thought these would be great to give some one moving into a new home and you can fill the Gable Box with all sorts of goodies.  I found the tutorial for the Gable Box at SCS in the resources section if you want to try it yourself!  :) I've never actually made a Gable Box before, so this qualifies for the Our Creative Corner challenge to try and new technique!!  :)

I took a piece of yellow bazzill and cut, scored and taped it according to the tutorial at SCS.  Then I cut four pieces of Wisteria DSP for each side of the box and glued them down.  Next I added a piece of white cut with the Label 6 Nestabilities to the middle of the front panel.  I stamped both the sentiment and nest image from the Nest stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured it with markers and a blender pen and cut it out and popped it on top of the die cut.  I added the sentiment to the box and adhered a purple button and gold cord to the end of it and finished off by adding a couple of cream pearls below the nest and tied the top of the box with some purple satin ribbon.

For the matching card I started with a base of purple bazzill and layered with yellow and some Wisteria DSP.  The square panel is more Wisteria matted with yellow and I've stamped the sentiment from Nest in Memento Tuxedo Black directly to the paper and then tied some purple satin ribbon across the bottom.  Over the top of the ribbon I've added another white Label 6 die cut and popped up another nest the same as above.  To finish I added some cream pearls to the top corner, under the sentiment and added a bow made with the Bow Easy and tied a button on top with some gold cord.

Stamps - Nest (ODBD)
Paper - Yellow and Purple Bazzill, Wisteria DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 6 Spellbinders, 1/2" Purple Satin Ribbon, Purple and Yellow Buttons, Gold Cord, Cream Pearls, Markers, Blender Pen, Scissors and Foam Tape.

I hope you've enjoyed stopping by and nesting with me for a while!!!!

FS159 Sweet Peas

This week the Featured Stamper is JovialJudi - congratulations to Judi and enjoy your special week!!  I had a look through her gallery but decided on her latest upload Prairie Fairy Flowers to case.  I kept the flower theme and the punched border, changing the image and colours.

I started with a base of pink bazzill and layered with white and some Making Memories DSP that I found in my stash.  The vertical layer is lighter pink bazzill, punched with the Fiskars Lace Border Punch and added two rows of piercing and attache a piece of white satin ribbon.  The main panel has been stamped using the Flourishes Sweet Peas in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with markers and a blender pen.  I cut the sweet peas with small oval nestabilities and matted with Label 8 Nestabilities and popped the panel up on foam tape.  I finished off by adding some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the corners of the Label 8 panel.

Stamps - Sweet Peas (Flourishes)
Paper - Pink and Light Pink Bazzill, White, Making Memories DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Small Oval and Label 8 Nestabilities, Markers, Blender Pen, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Fiskars Lace Border Punch, White Satin Ribbon, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Foam Tape.

JRC_006 Beautiful Botanicals

Oh boy - what a week it has been.  Within 24hrs of my son bringing home this cold/flu from school the rest of the family came down with it too!  :(  I had one off school for days and a sick cranky toddler, sick hubby and I felt like death warmed up.  Not much fun in Summer I assure you.  Thankfully although nasty while you have it, it lasted *only* 3 days! (A very long 3 days - I didn't even look at my craft room during that time!)  So ---- now that I'm feeling better it was time to start creating again and what better way than making a Beautiful Botanical card for the JustRite Challenge this week (JRC_006) which you can find on the JustRite Stampers Blog!

I started with some pink bazzill, layered with Certainly Celery, white (punched with the Fiskars Eyelet Lace Embossing Border Punch) and two strips of some Imaginisce paper that I found in my stash.  Around this I added some white satin ribbon and above that a pink panel cut and embossed with the Spellbinders Eyelets Pendant die.  Popped on top of that I've stamped the Sweet Peas from JustRite's My Garden set in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with markers and a blender pen (regal rose and old olive).  To finish I added a white satin bow and some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to the ribbon and the pendant.

Stamps - My Garden (JustRite)
Paper - Pink Bazzill, Certainly Celery, White, Imaginisce Magic Meadow
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Eyelets Pendant Die, Fiskars Eyelet Lace Embossing Border Punch, White Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Snow Pearls, Markers, Blender Pen, Foam Tape.

I hope you are well wherever you are and thanks for stopping by for a visit!!  :)

2S4Y46 Singing Cardinal

Today started off OK and got steadily worse as the day wore on - 2 of my kids are sick, this afternoon the dreaded thing got me and now my hubby is coming down with it too!  :(  I can only pray that it doesn't last too long - it's no fun being sick in the middle of Summer!  I started this card this morning and was determined to finish it today before this cold took hold!  I was inspired by this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch 46 - which made me think of the new Sing for Joy set by ODBD because that vertical verse would be perfect for that side panel!!  :)

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with Close to Cocoa (pierced around the edge) and some retired SU DSP.  I stamped the Cardinal from Sing for Joy in Jet Black Stazon on Watercolour paper and coloured with markers and an aqua pen for the cardinal and then used a blender pen for the branch.  I cut the cardinal out with the Label 8 Nestabilities and I also sponged some Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa around the panel.  Next I took the Eyelet Pendant set by Spellbinders and cut out the smaller circle in Always Artichoke and put it to the right hand side of the main panel.  I then stamped the verse from the same set in Always Artichoke and was stoked to find that it fit perfectly inside the Ribbon Tags Trio 2 die!!  Woohoo!!!  Don't you love it when that happens!!!  :)  Attached the verse with some ivory satin ribbon over the top of the pendant die and finished by adding some Kaisercraft Latte pearls to each corner of the card and each side of the pendant die cut.

Stamps - Sing for Joy (ODBD)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, Watercolour Paper, ret. SU DSP
Ink - Jet Black Stazon, Always Artichoke, Real Red
Accessories - Label 8 Nestabilities, Ribbon Tags Trio and Eyelet Pendant Spellbinders, Ivory Satin Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Kaisercraft Latte Pearls, Aqua Pen, Blender Pen, Markers.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Geranium Birthday

Today is the Featured Stamper challenge and this week the honour goes to Laurie aka HamiltonGal!!!  Laurie sent me a beautiful birthday card this week and I was thrilled to see her honoured today!  I was tempted to case the card she sent me, but instead I chose THIS card.  I kept the layout, pearls (although I moved them) and the idea of the flower with the sentiment beside it.  I really would have liked to put the sewing on, but most people who know me would realise that that is not a particularly good idea!!!  :)  I changed --- no sewing, different colours, image and sentiment.  I decided to make this a Birthday card so it would also qualify for this week's JustRite Stampers challenge JRC_005 to make a birthday card!!!  Come join us by using your JR stamps and you could win a $50 gift voucher to JustRite!!!

I started with a base of Very Vanilla and layered with some deep pink bazzill and more Vanilla that was embossed with the Victoria EF.  Then I added three strips of My Mind's Eye Whirlybird DSP and attached a ribbon across them.  Over the top of the ribbon is a piece of Old Olive that was cut with the Label 5 Nesties and layered with a vanilla oval stamped on one end using JustRite's Just A Note set.  Next I took JustRite's Beautiful Blossoms set and stamped the Geraniums, coloured them with markers and carefully cut them out and popped them up on the oval.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Blush Pearls to the Label 5 die cut, a couple of Vintage die cut corners to the top and a big satin bow!

Stamps - Beautiful Blossoms, Just A Note (JustRite)
Paper - Deep Pink Bazzill, Very Vanilla, MME Whirlybird DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 5 and Large Oval Nestabilities, Vintage die set, 1" Ivory Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Blush Pearls, Markers, Blender Pen, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Double Challenge

It's not very often I combine challenges (probably because it takes me too long to think up something for one, let alone two!) - but today I've managed to do just that!  I first saw the LSC259 challenge at SCS to be inspired by something about the USA Presidents.....what the????  Being a Non-American I actually had to do some research - did you know that President Thomas Jefferson had a mockingbird called 'Dick' that lived in the White House Study?!  Then the IC219 challenge popped up at SCS where we had to be inspired by Geninne's Etsy Store and what do you know - most of it is BIRDS!  Bird No18 looked kinda like a mockingbird to me so I headed off to the creative corner......

I started with a base of grey bazzill and layered with very pale dusty blue bazzill and Baja Breeze.  Next I took a piece of grey Urban Garden DSP and punched one end with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch and layered with another piece of Urban Garden cut with the Label 8 Nestabilities and attached a piece of 1" blue satin ribbon through the middle.  The bird (OK, it is meant to be a sparrow - I've used some artistic licence) is from ODBD's He Watches Me and I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with markers (Going Grey, Basic Grey, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum) and a blender pen and cut it out with Large Oval Nestabilities and mounted on more Baja Breeze and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I stamped the sentiment (also from He Watches Me) in Memento Tuxedo Black in the bottom corner, added a few clear rhinestones to the other corners and also added a bow to the ribbon.

Stamps - He Watches Me (ODBD)
Paper - Grey and Pale Blue Bazzill, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Label 8, Large Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch, 1" Blue Satin Ribbon, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Markers, Blender Pen, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

MTSC60 Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today is my Dad's birthday and I wanted to use a relaxed sea theme for his card.  Dad loves the ocean and used to sail when he was younger so I thought this serene scene would be perfect.  I also used this weeks Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for the layout - it was perfect for what I wanted to do.

I started with a base of Baja Breeze and layered with Chocolate Chip, White and some Windsor Knot DSP.  Next I took a piece of Chocolate Chip punched on one side with the EK Success Dotted Wave punch and layered with some Close to Cocoa DSP.  Over the top I took three pieces of natural twine and knotted it in the centre.  The image is from Beach Life by Flourishes.  I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured it with markers (Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue) and cut it into a square that would fit inside the deckle edged rectangle of Chocolate Chip.  Finally I stamped the sentiment from Just a Note by JustRite in Chocolate Chip, cut it out with circle nestabilities and mounted it on a circle of Chocolate Chip and popped it up on Foam Tape.

Stamps - Just a Note (JustRite), Beach Life (Flourishes)
Paper - Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, White, Windsor Knot DSP, Close to Cocoa DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Chocolate Chip
Accessories - Deckle Edge Rectangle Nestabilities, Small and Large Circle Nestabilities, EK Success Dotted Wave Border Punch, Markers, Blender Pen, Natural Twine, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting!!!  :)

Nothing is harder...

This week Shannan Teubner lost her husband unexpectedly.  They had two sons aged 9yrs and 7yrs.  Although I don't know Shannan personally, I have visited her blog and have often seen her around SCS at release parties and so on.  Her story broke my heart - I simply cannot imagine how difficult this must be for her and her boys.  I just wanted to send a card to her and pray that she can find some comfort in the time ahead.

I used a base of Very Vanilla, layered with black and some Bella Bleu DSP.  A strip of black across the middle was punched on one edge with the Fiskars lace border punch, layered with vanilla and topped with black satin ribbon.  The sentiment is from JustRite's Thinking of You set and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut with Large Oval Nestabilities and mounted on a piece of black cut with the Label 4 Nestabilities and popped up.  To finish I added a black satin bow to the ribbon and a couple of black pearls to the top corner.

Stamps - Thinking of You (JustRite)
Paper - Very Vanilla, Black, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Large Oval and Label 4 Nestabilities, Fiskars Lace Border Punch, Black Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Kaisercraft Black Pearls, Foam Tape.

That's all for today and please remember Shannan and her family in your prayers.

2S4Y45 Pink Peonies

Hello Everyone!  I can't believe it has been a week since I last posted - life got really crazy at my house!  Finally after days of chaos I had the chance to sit down and stamp.  I had a look at the challenges and saw the sketch by 2S4Y and got to work.  :)

I started with a base of light pink bazzill and layered with white and some Kaisercraft Blushed DP.  Next I took a piece of Close to Cocoa and punched one side with the EK success Fleur de Lis border punch and attached some 1" pink satin over the top.  Next I took the centre and border from the brand new (released this week!) Beautiful Blossoms set and stamped it in Close to Cocoa and coloured the peonies in with markers (pretty in pink, regal rose, old olive) and a blender pen.  I cut it out with Large Oval Nestabilities and matted it with pink cut with the Large Scallop Ovals and popped it up on a panel of Cocoa cut with Label 8 Nestabilities.  To finish I added a large pink satin bow to the top corner.

A Daisy Bouquet

Welcome to the JustRite Garden Tour!!!  Today the team are showcasing four sets that will be available from the 7th February!!!  I have chosen to use the Beautiful Blossoms set - a set of four centres and borders in the large oval shape!!!  If you read my post when I used the large circle daisy from My Garden you would realise my love for daises!!!  In fact this beautiful bouquet somewhat resembles my wedding bouquet!!!  :)  Since we are talking about daisies, if you happen to be near Nambour (QLD) on February 6th, why not call ahead or pop into Daisy Chain Scrapbooks - I'm going to be there demonstrating this and other new JustRite sets!!!  :)

I started this card with a base of Baja Breeze and layered with yellow bazzill (pierced around the edge), Not Quite Navy and some Urban Garden DSP.  The vertical panel is more yellow bazzill punched on one side with the Martha Stewart Floral Lace Border Punch and layered with more Urban Garden DSP.  Over the top of that I added some 1" White Satin Ribbon and attached a large bow and yellow button (thanks to my friend Michelle).  To the side of this I added some Old Olive that has been cut using the Label 8 Nestabilities.  I stamped the centre and border from Beautiful Blossoms twice - once in Jet Black Stazon and once in Not Quite Navy.  I decided to handcut the oval because I wanted a very close trim and then sponged the centre with Summer Sun and popped it up on foam tape.  I coloured the daisies and cut them out and popped them up on foam squares.  To finish I added some Kaisercraft Snow Pearls to each corner of the Label 8.

Keep hopping and see what gorgeous projects the rest of the team have created!!!!!

To add more fun to the hop, Kelley of ODBD is giving away THREE prizes of $15 vouchers for ODBD stamps!!!!  All you have to do is comment on each blog and collect the secret words in order to uncover the scripture verse!!!  Once you have the whole verse, pop back to the ODBD blog and send an email to the address provided saying you commented on each blog and what the verse is!!  (If you can't leave a comment on any blog for any reason, just note that in the email and you'll still be eligible.)  My secret words are...... THE BIRDS
