Gladioli

http://powerpoppy.com/products/gladioli/

Hello Everyone!!  Did you see Day One of the Power Poppy release yesterday??  Oh My, what inspiration the Bloom Brigade had for you!!  Today's release is one that is special to me because it is Gladioli which was my Nana's favourite flower.  April was not only her birthday month (she would have been 96 this year), but sadly also the month she passed away.  So I wanted to make an extra special card using this set for the Power Poppy Release!  :)

This month Power Poppy has gone DIGITAL - for those of you who just can't wait to get your hands on these gorgeous new designs and don't want to be stalking your mailman!  :)  It's as simple as download, print and design!  For even more fun, there are challenges with prizes up for grabs all through May!  What are you waiting for?  Come join the fun on the Power Poppy Blog - we can't wait to see what you create!

I've used a base of pink bazzill and layered with soft green, pink pirouette and white cut with Spellbinders Elegant Labels Four.  While the white panel was still in the die, I've airbrushed a little G12 Copic just to give a little colour behind the feature panel.  (If you can't airbrush, you can sponge some ink for a similar effect.)  Around this I've attached a piece of beautiful green stitched satin ribbon that I got at the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and topped it with white satin ribbon.  I've printed out the Gladioli Digi Stamp in black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured it with Copics (see deets below) and cut it with Labels 28 Nestabilities and framed it with pink pirouette cut with Decorative Labels 28.  I've matted this panel with a piece of gingham paper cut with Grand Labels Four and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added small pearl flourishes and a bow to the corners.

Copic colours used for the Gladioli are -
Greens - G20, G12, G24, G28
Pinks - RV000, RV52, RV63, RV95
Yellows - Y11, Y15, Y17
Purples - V000, V12, V15, V95
Also - E21, N3, N5, B0000

I've also decorated the inside using the piece of paper left after die cutting!

Stamps - Gladioli (Power Poppy)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink Pirouette, Soft Green Bazzill, White, FabScraps Shabby Chic DP
Ink - Printer
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Elegant Labels 4, Grand Labels 4, Labels 28, Decorative Labels 28, Green and White Ribbons, Bow Easy, ZVA Pearl Flourish, X-press It Foam Tape, X-press It Clear Gel Glue and Glue Marker.

Oh, Kathy, what a beautiful card, and it's definitely extra special because of being your nana's favorite flower! It's so beautifully colored, and I love the colors and dies you've used! Another beauty, sweet friend! Hugs!

What a great card, Kathy! I just went over and made my order. Love that you used more than one color. My aunt and grandmother on my dad's side always had gladioli in their gardens.

Beautiful and feminine, Kathy! I just love pink and green together and this is especially delicate. Your design and coloring are both simply gorgeous! I know how special these flowers are to you. My mom passed away in her birthday month, too. She loved white flowers, especially lilies. Maybe we'll have those someday soon.
